Cranberry Hill Inn

  • Inn Details

The Cranberry Hill Inn is an intimate and peaceful location in the center of the quiet village of Southwest Harbor on Mt Desert Island. Each guest room faces the garden and the harbor and includes a private bath and private entrance. Guests are served a full gourmet breakfast each morning in the dining room and on the sunporch as they watch the lobster boats leave for the day and encouraged to return at the end of the day for tea in front of the fireplace in the welcoming living room. The inn is minutes from Acadia National Park and the Cranberry Islands ferry, and a short walk into the center of town where visitors can enjoy wonderful restaurants and interesting galleries and shops.

Cranberry Hill Inn excells in all categories, especially considering the very reasonable rates. Although my husband and I managed to pick a week of atypically cloudy, drizzly weather, our room at the Inn seemed sunny due to the pleasant decor and plenty of natural light including a skylight in the generously sized bathroom. The very comfortable bed and quiet setting made sleeping easy, even for a couple from a rural home. The breakfasts always included fresh fruit and a sweet treat preceeding the gourmet creation of the day. Patti is a wonderfully gifted cook and both Patti and Jerry made you feel as though they were old, dear friends you were visiting. I know reviewers are warned against hyperbole, but I honestly can't think of a thing that would have made our stay any more pleasant, short of changing the weather!
