The Old Granite Inn lies just outside the historic district of downtown Rockland, Maine, within easy walking distance of everything of local interest. Our front rooms overlook the port area of the working harbor and across from the Ferry Terminal to the islands. The building was constructed of granite from local quarries in 1840. Furnishings are an artful blend of antiques and modern pieces. A five minute walk will take you to restaurants, antiques shops, the Farnsworth Art Museum, galleries and Windjammers at their waterfront berths. After a restful night, start the day with a full gourmet breakfast.

I arrived in town for business and they had upgraded my room to a main floor room, which was so nice after hauling my computers and suitcase to second floor rooms for 3 consecutive days prior. The owner recommended a great restaurant in town for dinner. I had to leave early the next morning but he was up earlier and had a wonderful spread of food for my breakfast. The egg and vegetable frittata was wonderful! I would definitely return!

I really like the modern decor and feel of this inn. There's a great deal of what I'd call "Ikea style" to the inn. No frou-frou here - beautiful photography by the innkeeper and simple, easy decor throughout. The location right on Main Street and across from the ferry makes this a great location for exploring all of Midcoast Maine. I stayed in room #5 and awoke to a beautiful view of the sunrise over the harbor. For those looking for a clean, more modern feel, you'll love this inn.
