Distant Sands Bed & Breakfast

Our 4th. visit in as many years and it just keeps getting better! Bob the Innkeeper is the type of person that can't do enough to make your stay exactly what you want it to be. He starts you off with a wonderful breakfast everyday then it's off to the beach or golf or sightseeing and shopping. The four o'clock wine and cheese is the perfect time to chat with other guests or just relax and soak in the beautiful grounds. There are more varieties of flowers at Distant Sands than there are at the botanical gardens in our town. We have met so many interesting and pleasant people here but no one nicer than Bob!

Due to a power outage in parts of Ogunquit, we happened upon Distant Sands through the recommendation of another innkeeper. We were truly floored by Bob's optimistic personality and friendliness. Rooms and amenities are relaxing as well as refreshing, and breakfast is not bad either! A short walk to the ocean and town is a real plus for this quaint B & B. Put it on your list next time you are visiting the Maine coastline.

Distant Sands is a beautiful, small B&B in a great location in Ogunquit, ME. It offers a comfortable backyard (with an ocean view) and easy beach access. The rooms are small (and the bathrooms too), but comfortable and clean. Bob serves a great breakfast and is interesting and knowledgeable. We would stay here again.

We were greeted warmly by Bob, the innkeeper. He gave us a tour and showed us our room, The Christopher. The room was smaller than we usually like to have; however, the bed was comfy, and a well appointed bathroom made up for the inconvenience. We enjoyed the wine, cheese, and fruit in the afternoon. My wife and I stayed at the Distant Sands for a weekend in October and what a great time we had. Bob our inn keeper was a delight, such a great personality and very informative about Ogunquit, the food that he made for breakfast was excellent, The B&B itself was cozy in a convenient area of Ogunquit not to far from the shops or Perkins Cove and the Marginal Way. I just loved my time at The Distant Sands and would definitley return.

The location is perfect - far enough from the town center to avoid the traffic, strollers and tour buses - but close enough for a nice stroll down the beach to get to town. The house is very eclectic with fun items everywhere. Bob, the host, has the perfect personality and patience to manage it all! Don't miss Happy Hour on the back deck and make sure you walk thru the Community Garden next door.

We only stayed one night in this B&B and it was not nearly enough... the pictures online do not do it justice. Bob was incredibly friendly, thoughtful, and accommodating. It is within walking distance of the Ogunquit town center and a short walk from the beach. Perfect location and perfect weekend... we will definitely return!

By far one of the best B&B experiences we have had. The relaxed yet attentive atmosphere owes its perfection to Bob - one of the best B&B hosts we have ever had. This has got to be the best place to stay in Ogunquit.

We stayed at Bob's wonderful, enchanting B & B. His hospitality is exceptional along with his culinary, gardening, & decorating skills. The afternoon wine & cheese, the guest robes, complimentary beach chairs, towels, suntan lotion, guest fridge, & chocolate in the room were an added bonus. Bob gave us everything we needed to enjoy a beach day or afternoon with the bugs! Each room is decorated with a differnt theme making each change more exciting! We were also so close to the beach and were provided suntan block, boogiie boards, water bottles, a bottle of wine, complementary drinks cheese, fruit, and crackers (unadvertised!). This guy runs the best B&B that I've ever went too!

My wife and I decided a break away from home for a little over a week was needed and her research landed us at Distant Sands B&B in Ogunquit Maine. While she loves the B&B experience I am not quite as big a fan, until now. I have never felt more welcomed, more at home and so well cared for as we did at Distant Sands. Owner Bob provided suberb, breakfast, accommodations and hospitality. Our stay could of not been more pleasant and despite feeling very rested at the end of our visit, it was diffcult to leave. Both of us hope we can return again soon to Distant Sands for a repeat visit, a first for the Coss family. We happlily recommend this great B&B experience to anyone. My husband and I stayed here Oct. 08. We had a great time. It is in a perfect location. We took a wonderful walk down the beach to town. Ate lots of lobster at the place across the street. Bob is a wonderful innkeeper. Good company, wine and a fabulous breakfast. I would want to have my family and friends stay here.

This homey B and B is very convenient and also close to the beach. The best was Bob our host, very nice, welcoming, great restaurant recommendations

We only had one night in Ogunquit, Maine but are sure glad that we stayed at the Distant Sands. We arrived after 7 PM but our host very thoughtfully left us some wine and cheese. He was helpful in every way possible. We have stayed at many B&Bs and are very careful in our selection of where we stay. We were not disappointed in the Distant Sands. It was very clean, the breakfast was excellent, was walking distance to the beach and the place was furnished beautifully. The flowers in the yard were unbelievable!! They were so gorgeous. It is clear that this is a very well cared for bed and breakfast. Our only regret is that we had only booked one night at this B&B. I hope we will be in the area in the near future. We stayed at about 12 B&Bs on our road trip honeymoon, and Distant Sands is THE BEST on our trip. Bob is awesome, the rooms are awesome, the breakfast is awesome, the location, the decorations, the wine and cheese, the gardens - WE LOVED IT. I would give Distant Sands my very highest recommendation. Go out of your way to get reservations for this B&B.

The highlight is the Inn Keeper. His knowlege of the area suggestions for activities were outstanding. The atmosphere of the Inn were soothing and warm, easy to find a spot for reading, music and socializing. The food was excellent, tasty plentiful, and the highlight of every morning.
