    Room 4 - Captain Fairfield. A large second floor corner room decorated in traditional Federal style, overlooking Kennebunkport’s River Green park, with a four poster mahogany queen bed with a memory foam mattress, comfortable Federal style couch, wide plank pine floors with an oriental rug, gas fireplace, 37″ LED TV, iPod docking station, AC and wireless Internet access. Private bath with an old fashioned soaking tub and a separate walk in shower.
    Room 8 - Parsons. This back of house, second floor room has been completely remodeled in 2011. Guests will enjoy a funky zebra striped king bed with a plush mattress, twin sleeper sofa, writing desk, gas fireplace, a 32″ flat panel TV/DVD, iPod docking station, AC and wireless Internet as well as a private bath with a tub and shower.
    Breakfast at the Captain Fairfield Inn is the most celebrated time of day. When you wake to the smell of freshly brewed coffee, you can wander down to the dining room to experience a multi-course gourmet breakfast creatively prepared using seasonal and local ingredients.
    The Lounge: an eclectic mix of old meets new. The Lounge features a wood-burning fireplace with several seating areas.
    Room 3 - Sweet Liberty. Sunny and bright, this spacious corner room features a cream toile wallpaper and wide plank pine floors, a grand upholstered queen bed, plush couch, stylish area carpet, gas fireplace, 37″ LED TV, iPod docking station, AC and wireless Internet access. Views from this second floor room are of the historic sea captain’s homes in our neighborhood and of the River Green. Private bath with a luxurious tiled rainfall shower.
    Room 1 - The Library. Features include a hand-carved pencil post king bed, plush couch, stately writing desk, gas fireplace, wide plank pine floors, flat panel TV/DVD, iPod docking station, AC, wireless Internet access, and luxurious private bath with double whirlpool tub and separate shower. The Library also has its own private porch.
    Room 7 - Breakwater. This second floor room is inspired by colors of coastal sand and the jewel green of Maine waters. It boasts an oversize king bed with an ultra-chic padded headboard, plush suede chaise, sleek gas fireplace, 32” HDTV/DVD, AC and wireless Internet access. Private bath with tub and shower.
    Enjoying the fall foliage begins right out the front door, as the Inn is surrounded by centuries-old Elms and Maples, and other beautifully restored historic homes.
    Room 9 - James. This back of house, second floor corner room has been completely remodeled in 2011. Guests will enjoy a distressed turned wood four poster king bed with a plush mattress, chaise lounge, club chair, gas fireplace, a 32″ flat panel TV/DVD, iPod docking station, AC and wireless Internet as well as a private bath with a tub and shower.
    Room 2 - Polly Lord Suite. A charming first floor corner suite with a bedroom and sitting room. The bedroom features a hand-carved four poster mahogany king bed with a memory foam mattress, an antique walnut wardrobe and a Persian carpet over wide plank pine floors, a 32″ flat panel TV/DVD, iPod docking station, wireless Internet and AC. The wall coverings are an English red toile on an ivory background. The cozy sitting room has two plush scrollback chairs, and a flat-panel TV/DVD. Private bath with two head luxury shower.
    Room 5 - Lois Walker. A second floor corner room with a romantic queen canopy bed with a memory foam mattress, two plush wingback chairs in front of a gas fireplace, flat panel TV with DVD player,iPod docking station, an oriental carpet over wide plank pine floors, a separate dressing room with vanity, AC and wireless Internet access. Private bath with an old fashioned Revival soaking tub and shower.

    All but one of our guest rooms have beautiful gas fireplaces like this one in Lois Walker.
    The breakfast experience begins with our special blend of fair trade “Coffee by Design,” Mighty Leaf organic teas, and our signature fresh orange juice blend. This will soon be followed by a seasonal fruit course and pastries fresh from the oven. Finally you will be offered a choice of two prepared to order entrées, such as Cinnamon French Toast with Wild Maine Blueberry Sauce, Eggs Benedict, Ricotta Pancakes with Brown Sugar Cherry Compote, Huevos Rancheros with Pineapple Mango Salsa and omelets prepared to your order.

    Absolutely perfect

    My daughter got married in Kennebunkport this summer and we actually rented all of the rooms in the Inn for a long weekend, making the Captain Fairfield our headquarters for the weekend. Nate and Hillary had no idea what to expect but greeted all with warmth and smiles. Anything requested, they were there for us - tee times, breakfast to go for golfers, magnificent breakfasts and cookies every day. The rehearsal dinner and brunch on Sunday were in the back yard under a great Sperry tent - the ambiance was spectacular. The rooms were perfect, the linens remarkable, the mattresses made for restful sleep (actually one couple requested the mattress type and ordered for their home!). This truly was a perfect home away from home for a magical wedding weekend. Will certainly be back for another stay to recount great memories in a funky, lovely Inn.

    AMAZING WEDDING WEEKEND

    My husband and I stayed at Captain Fairfield this past July for our wedding weekend. We stayed in the Library and it was amazing! The bed was so comfortable and the linens were soft. The private porch was a wonderful way for us to escape by ourselves. Hillary and Nate were so acommodating and friendly. The breakfast was delicious and a great way to start the day. I would highly recommend this inn for anyone looking to get away. The proximity to town makes it easy to walk everywhere which was wonderful. All in all a weekend we will always remember!

    One night stay off season.

    The staff is very attentive and anxious to please. Couldn't do enough for us. The breakfast was delicious! The room was nice, rug could have been newer. Bed comfy. Bath clean. We asked for a nice restaurant and after describing what we like in the way of food the innkeeper made reservations right on the money.

    Fabulous B&B in heart of Kennebunkport

    This charming bed and breakfast is located on a quiet street with peaceful surroundings and yet in walking distance of downtown Kennebunkport. The service is friendly, knowledgeable and very willing and ready to please. The house and grounds are comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast was possibly the best breakfast I ever ate. The room was large and clean. The bathroom was modern and had all amenities. The only downside was two items in the room: small television and the air conditioner was not great. If you are interested in staying in Kennebunkport, then I highly recommend this B&B.

    Just a quick update: it's been some time since this review was posted. Since then we have upgraded all of the TVS. Our guest rooms now feature either 32" LCD TV/DVD or 37" LED tvs. Additionally all of the air conditioners are going to be replaced during the winter of 2011 and 2012.

    Reservation Policy

    • Check In: 3:00-7:00 pm    Check Out: 11:00 am

    • Minimum Stay: A two-night minimum on most weekends, three on some holidays.

    • Deposit Amount Required: For a multiple night stay, a deposit of half of the total charges is due at the time of booking. For a one night stay, the full amount is due as a deposit.

    • Cancellations: Because of our size, cancellations affect us significantly. For any cancellation or change of dates, we must receive 14 days notice prior to your confirmed arrival for a refund of your deposit, less a $25 fee per room. If any full or partial cancellation or change of dates is made within 14 days, regardless of the reason, you are financially responsible for the entire reservation, unless we can re-book your room. However, you are always welcome to send a friend or family member in your place.

    When we arrived we were welcomed in a very warm way by Finn. He showed us to our very niceroom and told us all about the Inn. He was more than willing to help us find a restaurant for dining. The breakfast was very well prepared. A nice treat were the afternoon cookies, also homemade. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this excellent place to evryone. Well done Finn!!

      Take the Maine Turnpike (I-95) to Exit 25 (formerly exit 3) for Kennebunk-Kennebunkport. Once you've left the tollbooth, turn left onto Route 35. You will be on Rt. 35 for 5 1/2 miles in total. While on Rt. 35, you will encounter a small rotary; go half way around to stay on 35. You will also go through the center of Kennebunk, where you will need to turn left and then immediately bear right, again staying on Rt. 35 - watch for signs.
