My greyhound and I stayed here in April and we were whole-heartedly welcomed by Bev. The daily breakfasts were delicious, she gave us tips of where to go and what stores welcomed pets. The entire house was very clean and it's close to the village of Freeport, just a short walk. I would definitely stay here again!

The Evergreen room was very comfortable and clean, and breakfast was a gourmet feast! Bev couldn't have been more accommodating, since we just popped in unannounced. We would highly recommend the Captain Briggs House.

Even before we arrived we felt very welcomed by Bev via our phone conversation. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted. The entire place was spotless (as we gave ourselves a little tour)! Cozy, country feel (a home away from home). Bev catered to our every request and was very helpful in recommending places to eat and things to do. Winter getaway rate was a steal! Would definitely go back! (And, actually, we are, because we loved it so much!)

    Great experience at Captain Briggs!

My husband and I stayed at this B&B for the second time in January of 2009. We were very pleased with our first stay so we were eager to return. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The location is great also. We were even upgraded to a larger room than we had reserved at no extra cost to us because the inn was not full. We would certainly stay at this inn again if we travel to Freeport.
