We stayed at the Castine Inn for the GCFN Convention. Terrible experience. Our room called a "double", but was barely big enough for a very small person. It was a hot day. There was no ventilation; no air-conditioning. One small ceiling fan, totally out-of-balance, swung away making a whumpa-whumpa sound all night long. Breakfast was totally inedible. I asked for no meat and was served bacon and the worst god-awful scrambled eggs I've ever tasted. i sent it all back. My husband, good sport, threw up his breakfast about 30 minutes later. The shower measured 32 inches square. If you wanted to soap up, you had to step out and proceed. The porch furniture was in total disarray -- trashed or unusable. The light from the transom over the door was hopeless. Finally found the hall light dimmer! Totally horrendous experience.
