Not a bad place, but for $200 a night you can definitely do better, especially this season in the flat economy and the lousy weather. Nice location, but they're not too good with the small things. They have a 24-hour coffee serivce, but for the... read more

Innkeeper Response
I want to offer our sincere apologies to this guest for not anticipating & meeting their needs. We get such frequent comments on our attentiveness, so it is upsetting when we overlook important points, especially after the opportunity has passed to fix them. We were out of creamers, and instead were putting out a pitcher each morning. A better solution would have been to put a quart in the guest refrigerator, and I apologize for not thinking of it. July had been so cool that we had not yet put the window a/c in the one room which stays the coolest, as it prevents the window from closing, and PM temps had been down into the 40s. The a/c was installed once the weather warmed, but we should have asked about comfort prior to that point. The other room referenced is a guestroom with a private porch; the a/c is set into a bedroom-to-porch window, and the unit pulls air through the exterior porch door. The guestroom door itself is an exterior door with deadbolt and can be shut and locked at any time without interfering with the a/c. 3) The guestrooms mentioned have featherbeds; guests rave about them, but they do retain fairly deep “body dents”, which the housekeepers are instructed to shake out, but sometimes forget. As mentioned several times, the weather was dreary, so I wish we had made these guests’ stay itself more enjoyable. Sometimes guests feel uncomfortable mentioning a concern in person, but I speak for most innkeepers when I say that we’d much rather fix a situation, and save someone’s getaway from being mediocre or worse, than to kick ourselves later when hearing about our mistakes anonymously. Communication helps us to improve the setting not just during their stay, but for the guests who follow.
