The Jeweled Turret Inn
Exquisitely turreted, columned and gabled, surrounded by bushes and many flowers, the Jeweled Turret Inn was built as a single family home for prominent attorney James S. Harriman and his wife Nell in 1898. The name of the Inn is from the grand oak stairway which spirals up a round turret with stained and leaded glass panels with jeweled embellishments. This grand lady of the Victorian period possesses a beautifully restored interior with many fireplaces, unique oak, maple, fir and pine woodwork. One of the many exciting features is the den with its dark pine wood beamed ceiling, rattan wainscoting, and grand stone fireplace. This fireplace is built with semi-precious rocks from every state in the Union! The Inn is on the national Register of Historic Places, located a block from the bay and in the historic district.
