Amidst towering pines, The Inn at Bay Ledge literally clings to the cliffs of Mt. Desert Island, which is locally referred to as "The Eden of New England". The decks which overlook the spectacular coastline are extremely inviting and guests may enjoy a swim in our pool, relax in a hammock, or take a walk on our private beach. The elegant bedrooms compliment the style of the inn which was built in the early 1900's, and possess an upscale country ambiance. Beautifully decorated with antiques, all rooms are unique with views of Frenchman's Bay and nearby mountains. King and Queen canopy and antique four poster beds are covered with designer linens, down quilts and feather beds. The cottages off extra privacy and more country style. Each morning a lavish full breakfast is served either on the deck overlooking Frenchman's Bay or before a roaring fire. Unique in character, size, location, and privacy, The Inn at Bay Ledge offers its guests the finest blend of luxury and Maine rustic living.

I had never been to Maine and, honestly, didn't know what to expect. To be on the safe side, I booked at this Bed& Breakfast because the rooms looked really nice online and I wanted to make sure the trip was worth something if I didn't like the area. The inn is right on the ocean and you can walk off the lawn onto the beach. If you stay in the Acadia Suite, as we did, you have the most gorgeous view onto the ocean. The room was outstanding and the two fireplaces just added to the ambiance. This experience was truly great and I think that this place is the perfect location for a romantic getaway. I can highly recommend it.

Stayed Oct.19 -22 2013. Bar Harbor was closing up for the winter but there was still plenty to do. Jack & Jean were perfect hosts. B&B was just far enough away from the tourist center. We will definetly stay there when we return. We had a great time.

we recently spent 3 nights at bay ledge inn to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary(we stayed in the same cabin that we stayed in for our honeymoon at bay ledge 25 years ago). We had such a nice stay;very relaxing. The room was very nice;the bed was spacious and comfortable. Breakfasts were great with a nice variety. The best part was the staff! Jack and Jeani were very welcoming and easy to talk to. Shelia and Lucia were also great. We look forward to our next stay at bay ledge inn!

Both having left the corporate world for the tranquil life of Maine; this is our second Inn on the island of Mt. Desert. Our first was in downtown Bar Harbor, but there was one thing missing...the Ocean. Thus our Inn sits atop an eighty foot cliff with a private beach. A great place for our sailboat. We also enjoy golf, hiking, biking, and skiing. What better place to enjoy it than Acadia National Park...our own back yard!
