What a perfect retreat the master suite is! We absolutely loved our stay at the Saltair Inn. The room is huge! Perfect for the 4 days, 3 nights we spent. Even though it rained during a portion of our visit, it didn't matter. The sitting room is just what one needs to relax and forget about one's worries. Kristi and Matt were excellent hosts. The breakfasts were delicious and they made sure we were well acquainted with the highlights/things to do. Matt provided us with maps and must-do hikes that are often overlooked. He was right, we had the trails to ourselves. They do an incredible job of making the vacation perfect. The restaurant scene is also a plus. Stick with Kristi and Matt's recommendations and you will not be disappointed. We can't wait to come back. Thanks for such a fantastic stay!

We stayed during the "in between" season when many stores had "closed for the season" and the weather was wet and cold, but we had a great time at this B&B. Kristi and Matt were great hosts and helped us plan our time in Bar Harbor.

Loved it, loved it, didn't want to leave!

My husband and I stayed at the Saltair Inn for five days in July 2009 and were so exceptionally pleased. We stayed in the suite on the first floor and it was amazing. Between the beautiful resting area overlooking the water, to the very comfortable bed, to the amazing hot tub, we were in heaven. The inn keepers went out of their way to accomodate my dietary requests, from the breakfast to the afternoon snacks. ( I am gluten free ) It was delicious! And my husband who can eat everything loved it too. Acadia is so beautiful and it was so lovely to come "home" to such a beautiful and wonderful place. Oh, and fireplace too! Thank you so much! We will be back!

On our recent trip through the Northeast we stayed at four B&B's, we were happy with all of them but the Saltair was by far our favorite. Matt & Kristi are wonderful hosts and had excellant suggestions on what to do during our visit. Their property is absolutely beautiful. We expected the scenery but not the wonderful fireplace in our very large room, the really comfy beds and the yummy cookies each afternoon. The breakfasts were very nice and we really enjoyed the "family" atmospere. This is the most we have paid for a B&B, but if you are willing to pay more for an amazing expereince the Saltair is the place.

Warm cookies waiting, even warmer hospitality!

We just returned from a fabulous weekend at the Saltair Inn. We went to Bar Harbor to celebrate our anniversary and we couldn't have selected better accomodations! We arrived to the heavenly scent of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. We were immediately offered cookies and fresh blueberry pie upon our arrival. We agreed instantly that we would abandon our diets for the weekend! Breakfast each morning was plentiful and delicious. We enjoyed meeting the other guests at breakfast. Everyone was friendly and seemed to be having a great time. The inn (a large Victorian house) has lots of character and is decorated beautifully. The amenities are great! There are lots of little extra touches that really made the difference (e.g. DVD and CD library, guide books, snack basket, hot and cold beverage selection, etc.). Our room was very comfortable and clean. We had a gas fireplace which made for a cozy time. We experienced an afternoon of chilly, rainy weather so the fireplace and the DVD player were appreciated! Our hosts (Kristi, Matt and family) could not have done more to make us feel welcome. Whether we were looking for dinner ideas, information on Acadia or suggestions for local activities, they were full of great recommendations. They really went out of their way to make us feel at home. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting their family and can't wait for a return visit!
