This was a perfect place to stay while visiting Acadia and Bar Harbor. Catherine, Brian and Joyce and Rich were wonderful hosts. The breakfasts are a great way to start your day( and really delicious!) of hiking, biking and leaf peeping! They also offer(for a small fee) packed lunches which had everything you would want for lunch so you can stay on the trails. Every afternoon there were homemade cookies and lemonade and a place to catch up with what everyone did that day! Coffee, Tea, cocoa and some snacks were always available when we wanted them (love the blueberry cobbler coffee.) I can't say enough wonderful things!!

We stayed at the Hearthside with my Inlaws whilst traveling around New England and we wanted to experience a bit of old worldly charm at least once during our visit. We were not disappointed, our hosts were exceptionally friendly and helpful, Joyce went beyond the call of duty to ensure our stay was one to remember. If I have one criticism it was our beds were not that comfortable. However we felt that it was a small price to pay for such a great visit. Also excellent position for central Bar Harbour.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing stay at the hearthside b&b. Brian and Katherine were amazing hosts and made us feel right at home and were extremely knowledgeable about Bar Harbor. The food was great and our room, the Romeo and Juliet, was beautiful. We would come back again in a heartbeat!

We stayed here for three days celebrating our 40th anniversary and it could not have been nicer. The house and bedrooms are beautiful and the innkeepers,Brian and Catherine, couldn't have been any nicer. They went above and beyond to make sure that our stay, and everyone else's was perfect. The house is only two blocks from downtown Bar Harbor and easily within walking distance.Brian grew up in Bar Harbor and knows everything about everything there.Breakfasts were varied, relaxed and absolutely delicious. Our next trip to Maine will positively have Hearthside B&B on the itinerary.

My husband and I have stayed here twice before, but this time was with the new owners. We both have special dietary needs and Brian and Catherine did an excellent job making something special for us. We really appreciated it! We stayed in Glass Managerie again and we still love it. The room was beautiful and the bed is comfortable. We both slept well! Hearthside is the first and only place I look when booking for Bar Harbor. We will definitely stay here again!

Good friends...good mémorise...for always...

The proprietors of the inn were warm and welcoming and created a convivial atmosphere that made it easy for guests to meet each other in the comfortable living room and at the communal dining table. Our room was excellent and it was not a big deal at all that we had one of the rooms with our private bathroom down the hall. The only reason I gave the food less than the five stars is that, unlike I guess most bed and breakfast goers--I'd prefer simpler breakfasts without the fancy dishes. An egg, a cup of strong coffee, and some good bread is my fave; despite this I preference I enjoyed the amazing completely homemade pastries the hosts made.
