The owners of the Hearthside B&B are its heart. You are (undoubtedly) greeted by Brian with a huge smile, who gives you the rundown of how everything operates there as soon as you arrive. He also gets to know you and has a recommendation for any possible thing you may want to do in Bar Harbor and beyond. The building is conveniently located; my husband and I often walked from there to the shops, restaurants, and harbor. We were on our honeymoon and stayed in the Romeo & Juliet room, which was perfectly private. We spent a little time downstairs one rainy evening playing Scrabble and drinking wine, which was lovely. It was also so sweet each time we came in from an adventure in the afternoon to find cookies and drinks on the living room table. The breakfasts each morning were delicious. Brian and Catherine really bring a joie de vivre to the room that I think infects everyone with a little camaraderie. I wish we could have stayed longer; hopefully next time we will!

I have been visiting the Bar Harbor area for work in June for over 15 years. This trip I decided to change up my accommodations and was very pleased. The Hearthside was a very pleasant change . Brian even had special Gluten free offerings for me. Thank you for a cozy trip!

Brian and Catherine are amazing hosts, the rooms are beautifully appointed and clean - as is the entire inn - and breakfast is exceptionally delicious and abundant. The Hearthside is on a quiet street and its beds are wonderful so sleep quality is excellent. It's a great value for what you get. Brian and Catherine go above and beyond to be helpful and make one's stay in Bar Harbor a real pleasure. Love that there are no TVs in the rooms. They're more lovely and restful because of it. A stay at Hearthside is a chance to relax, be pampered and get away from it all. Brian has great knowledge of the park, so had many helpful suggestions for exploring it. My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer. A perfect stay.

Beautifully decorated, spotless inn. The innkeeper offers excellent advice on activities in and around Bar Harbor. This inn is within easy walking distance of downtown but is far enough away to be quiet. Breakfast was wonderful. Will visit again.

We chose the Hearthside prior to departing Canada and were perfectly impressed with the Inn and cannot say enough about the Innkeepers, Brian and Catherin. The location was great, breakfast was fantastic (yummy as my inside kid would say). We stayed 2 nights and visited a good part of Bar Harbor and the surrounding area. I couldn't talk Brian into a round of golf, next time?

We spent 4 nights at the Hearthside last week and absolutely loved it. The owners, Catherine and Brian were excellent hosts. We stayed in the Emily Dickinson room on the second floor. It was perfect, whirlpool tub, fireplace, nice sitting area. The location is great - you can walk to all the stores and restaurants downtown. It's only a short drive into Acadia National Park. The 3 course breakfasts were simply out of this world. After a day of biking or hiking there was lemonade and cookies waiting for you in the living room. It was nice for the guests to gather and talk about what they had done that day. Brian and Catherine had lots of great tips about the area and genuinely made you feel like family. We would definitely recommend the Hearthside Inn to anyone going to Bar Harbor.

Our stay at Hearthside Inn was superbly wonderful. Our host Catherine and Brain were just amazing and very warm and welcoming people. LOCATION AND ROOMS: If you are looking for a vacation in Acadia, I would totally recommend this place. The Inn is very clean and tastefully decorated. The room that we stayed in was big. The bathroom was nice and towels smelled fresh. Moreover, the Inn is conveniently located at the Bar Harbor downtown and in the evenings you can walk down to one of the restaurants or have an ice cream overlooking the ocean. The shore path is also nearby. THE SELLING POINT: But what was most amazing about Hearthside were Catherine and Brian. It was also as if we were visiting an extended family. The breakfast was elaborate with almost 3 courses. Since I was pregnant, Catherine even used to give us some fruits and bread/muffins for our lunch (This was not a part of the package). It was a very sweet gesture and very touching. In the evenings, we were always welcomed the inn guests and lemonade and cookies/strawberry bread. TO SUM UP: To be honest, we actually missed them after we reached home. Our stay at Bar Harbor definitely became more memorable due to Catherine and Brian at Hearthside Inn.

Our stay at the Hearthside was very nice. Our room was spacious and well kept. The bed was very comfortable. For us there were a few drawbacks. There was no TV in the room and I'm sure for some people that would not be a problem but for my husband it was. The parking is very limited and very tight in front of the building. I have a new car and I was not very happy about that. Breakfast is served at one big dining room table. I am not a morning person and although the food was excellent I do not like to share my breakfast with strangers making small talk. There were some tables outside but some mornings we were not luck enough to get one. I'm sure for some people these things would not be an issue. In that case this would be a very nice place to stay, It's in a great location close to town and the innkeepers were very friendly, helpful and accommodating.
