4.8 out of 5Perfect Bar Harbor B&B in every way!
October 18, 2012
This B&B is so well located and an easy walk to so many things, but the best part is that it could not be cleaner, cozier, or more comfortable. We were in the Duke of Ellington room - reaonably priced with extra amenities that you don't always get at a B&B (bottled water, chocolates, hair drier). Even though the bathroom was small in this room, it had everything we needed, and the shower was great with plenty of hot water. As for Susan and Barry, they are just wonderful! We had a quick stay as my husband was running the MDI marathon, but felt we got to know Susan and Barry and their lovely B&B -- we would definitely return!

Susan and Barry pay attention to all the details, are very helpful regarding the area's many available attractions, and provide a comfortable and cozy place to stay. Highly recommended.
4.6 out of 5The usual, excellent vacation stay
October 16, 2012
Staying with Barry and Susan is always a pleasure. Breakfast is varied (never the same meal twice), and always great. It's been several years since we stayed at Hearthside, but they remembered us, and remembered what we liked, what we needed, and how to care specifically for us. Outstanding. They've also done a good job of adapting and accomodating an older house in the center of town, to make it quiet, comfortable, and private for the guests. We will be back, again and again.

October 09, 2012
Hearthside is perfectly located in Bar Harbor. You can easily access the shuttles to the park, the downtown area while enjoying the peace and quiet of staying on a side street. Susan and Barry are very friendly, helpful and fun. Love the community breakfast with the other guests. We got to travel through the experiences of of the other guests and share suggestions on trips and dining on Mount Desert Island.
5 out of 5Impressive attention to detail throughout our stay
October 08, 2012
Our stay at the Hearthside Inn was fantastic. From the minute we checked in, it was clear that Barry and Susan have thoughtfully attended to every detail. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a map of Bar Harbor, restaurant and shopping recommendations, and a brief but thorough introduction to everything the inn has to offer. The dining room had coffee, tea and baked goods available, while the living room is complete with a vast amount of information on Acadia National Park and the surrounding area. Our room was well-appointed and very comfortable and everything is impeccably clean, inside and out. But by far our favorite part of the stay was the homemade breakfast! The only negative to our stay was that it was too short....we will definitely be back! The Hearthside Inn met and exceeded all our expectations.
