Aysgarth Station Bed and Breakfast offers year round accommodations on Mt. Desert Island. Our Bed and Breakfast extends New England hospitality and quiet comfort in a uniquely casual atmosphere. The Inn is situated in downtown Bar Harbor....and you are only a short stroll to the harbor, many distinctive shops, an abundance of eateries and the Shore Path ocean-front walk. You are also only minutes away from both the CAT Ferry Terminal for traveling to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia as well as Acadia National Park.

    Relax and unwind on the front porch in our comfy rocking chairs, the third floor sun deck, or in the evening in front of the fireplace. Review your day with the other guests, the innkeepers, play with our three cats, XB, Warwick, and Asticou, or plan tomorrows’ adventure while watching a New England sunset.
    Chatsworth is our largest room and features a queen size four poster bed with a huge private bathroom that offers a full sized tub and shower. It is located on the second floor at the rear of the house and offers a quiet retreat for your stay in Bar Harbor. Chatsworth is one of the most beloved historic estate homes in England, and this room gets it’s name from the home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. You will feel like a Lord and Lady yourself during your stay in this spacious room! Amenities include air conditioning, ceiling fan, antique marble-top dresser, and loveseatTucked away in a corner on the second floor, Whitby overlooks the quiet one-way street our inn is on. This cozy room features an antique high-back queen size bed, and has a private bathroom with a large shower, a ceiling fan, and air conditioning. The room gets its name from a fishing town in England that is the home to both the Bram Stoker story ‘Dracula’ and seafarer Captain James Cook who sailed to Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1758 prior to exploring Australia and New Zealand.

    Featuring an awesome view of Cadillac Mountain from your third floor windows, you will enjoy your stay in this room. The room is furnished with an antique queen size high-bed, handmade antique dresser, and the gabled ceilings that add a distinctively Victorian feel. You also have use of the intimate sun deck located off your hallway at the rear of the inn. Tan Hill has a private bath w/ a tub/shower and has a ceiling fan and air conditioning. The room is named after the highest pub in England, fitting for a room that boasts such a grand view of the highest mountain on the island!This spacious and airy room is located on the third floor at the rear of the inn high in the trees, and features a queen size antique iron bed and private bathroom with shower. The room has a ceiling fan and air conditioning as well as use of an intimate third floor sun deck off the hallway. Treefalls was the former name of Aysgarth Station on the newly reopened Wensleydale train line in Yorkshire, where Jane grew up.
    Located on the main floor, just off the dining room, this room offers easy access to breakfast and coffee. Henley is ideal for people who want to come and go throughout their stay and it’s the perfect room for those leaving early on the CAT Ferry. Henley includes a queen size pineapple bed, ceiling fan, air conditioning, and private bathroom with shower. Highlights include an antique waterfall wardrobe, and a unique desk. With multiple windows featuring original, diamond-pane glass that cover the width of one wall, the summer breezes will ensure your stay is delightful in this comfortable room. The room is named after Henley-on-Thames, home of the Henley Regatta, first held in 1839 on the Thames River in England - one of the world’s most popular rowing events.Enjoy a Maine Winter at Aysgarth and relax with some warm beverages in front of our fireplace
    This second floor room located in the front corner of the inn features a queen size antique iron bed and oak furnishings that will entice you to dream of quiet places in a land far away. The room is decorated with a medieval flair that will make you feel like Lancelot and Guinevere yourself, and is named after one of the finest castles in England. Skipton offers a private bathroom with shower, ceiling fan, and air conditioning and the two corner windows offer a pleasant view of the local scenery.Fall is one of the best times to visit
