Anne's White Columns Inn, an impressive Georgian structure, is located in the Historical Corridor in downtown Bar Harbor. Upon entering through the columned portico, one is greeted by the Victorian elegance of the foyer and salon. The huge fireplace is often crackling in spring and fall. The large wicker attired porch provides a peaceful setting for a leisurely breakfast, or your glass of wine and cheese during those long summer afternoons. The spacious grounds are a haven from the downtown activity but still convenient to the shops and restaurants.

To open the door and to get this warm welcome is the best you can get. Bob is a great entertainer and a carefull host. We have found this place many years ago by the way and we returned now the 3. time in this great B&B (like to come home)

We shopped around a good deal for a B&B in Bar Harbor. Anne's White Columns had to be the best deal in town. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though somewhat oddly decorated. Breakfast was always delicious, though it would have been nice to have a protein option for vegetarians. Bob was friendly and helpful, and had a ready list of rainy day activities. The location was excellent - less than a five minute walk to the village green.
5 out of 5excellent place to stay!

My husband and I were looking for a nice place close to the downtown area for easy walking. We found just the place! The room was clean, we had everything we needed (fan, soaps, clean bathroom, storage for clothes.) the breakfast was perfect. The bed was as comfortable as they come. I would recommend this Inn to anyone looking to sleep well, eat good food and enjoy your stay in the Bar Harbor area.

Wonderful experience from check-in to check-out. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable, and the breakfast was one of the best we have had at a B&B.

We went to Bar Harbor to see Acadia National Park and couldn't have chosen a better place to stay- The breakfast's were fantastic and they provided a wine and cheese social each evening which gave us a chance to interact and visit with the other guests. When we go back to Bar Harobor, we will make reservations here again. :)

Driving to Bar Harbor: Bar Harbor is easily accessible by car. From Boston (268 miles) - follow Interstate 95 through to Bangor (exit 45-A - 395), then pick-up on Rt.1A to Ellsworth, and follow Rt.3 to Bar Harbor. Another route would be to take I-95 to Augusta, take Route 3 to Belfast over to Route 1 to Ellsworth, then back to Route 3 into Bar Harbor. There is also the coastal route #1. It meanders thought the picturesque villages and takes quite a bit longer to reach Bar Harbor. Bus Service: During the summer months, Bar Harbor is serviced by Greyhound/Vermont Transit from Boston. Since schedules vary, it is best to check with the bus line.
