    Great week at Gull Cottage

    September 16, 2012

My husband and I spent almost a week at Gull Cottage for our honeymoon. The guest room was wonderful. It's very private, with lots of room, and a lovely outdoor deck. I loved waking up, making a cup of coffee and reading my book outside listening to the birds. The location of Gull Cottage was also ideal. We brought our bikes and were able to do a lot of nice rides right from the property. We also liked how close it was to Newcomb's beach and the town of Wellfleet- super convenient. The B&B is also right in the midst of the kettle ponds and the swimming and walking trails around were great. Last but not least, Randy and Pat were excellent hosts. The breakfasts were delicious (and Pat accommodated my chocolate addiction by including it whenever possible- so sweet.) and we really enjoyed their company (in fact my husband kept sneaking off with Randy in the afternoon to go fishing.) We had so much fun, that we're hoping to visit again next summer.

The best of the old Cape

    July 25, 2012

Gull Cottage is a 'Cape Cod' cottage in an idyllic position with a private beach on Gull Pond. The b&b room is above a boathouse, so with privacy from the house, but it's more of a suite with kitchenette and a sitting/dining room. The excellent breakfast is at the main house, watching the bird life (Pat and Randy, the owners, are keen naturalists and not only good company but a mine of information - Pat is from an old Cape family). This was my first visit to the Cape but I had high expectations as my fiancee has been coming here all her life - those expectations were more than met, and we would recommend Gull Cottage wholeheartedly.

    Paradise found!

    June 26, 2012

Gull Cottage is extraordinary! Allow yourself to step back in time and unwind in the most exquisite part of the Cape. Tucked between Gull and Higgins ponds you will find paradise. Whether a birder, canoer, or nature enthusiast, this is the perfect place. Pat and Randy are interesting, attentive, great breakfast makers, and such engaging hosts! Breakfast is amazing ...from garden fresh fritattas to sweet and savory crêpes or anything you desire, you will not leave hungry or disappointed! The boathouse is charming and cozy. This is our favorite place on the Cape to get away from it all; get lost in one of the many trails in the woods or dip into one of the nearby refreshing Freshwater ponds..

    Exceeding Expectation

    May 28, 2012

We escaped to Wellfleet from NYC on a freezing weekend in March – missing an unseasonable heat wave by two days... Thankfully, we stayed at the Gull Cottage boat house; bright, charming, private and spotless its nestled amidst trees and ponds at the end of a winding dirt road. We spent several long cozy evenings and mornings luxuriating around the wood (gas) stove, with our own kitchenette and bookshelves brimming with great reads both classics and contemporary. Delicious daily fresh breakfasts, artfully prepared by Randy and Pat and served in their historic home at their picture window framing a view of the pond and a bouquet of bird feeders and birds, was yet another unexpected pleasure. It's easy to imagine Gull Cottage is special at every season, and we look very forward to returning in warm weather for the "outdoor" version of same.
