We have been coming to the Berkshires for over 40 years and have stayed at the fancy hotels and modest B&B's, but the Cornell Inn is the best of them all. Our experience last week was exceptional. We traveled to Lenox for a family event and arrived exhausted and hungry. Tim and Nell both greeted us at check-in, gave my very hungry husband a snack and Tim whisked our bags to our lovely King room with fireplace. Nell gave us a great recommendation for dinner at a local place with wonderful food. We were feeling pampered and relaxed. The room was huge with a comfy chaise for reading, two chairs for the fireplace and plenty of space for luggage, bags, etc. along with a private balcony overlooking the forest. Lots of beverages, cookies, etc. available for late night snacking. In the morning there were home made muffins, omelets, and pancakes, along with juices, sausage, bacon etc. all in a cheerful dining room with skylights and plenty of windows overlooking the quiet forest. The common spaces were lovely and furnished with soft sofas and chairs and plenty of reading materials. There is also a little bar tucked into a corner for guests. We left refreshed and renewed! The Cornell Inn is our new go-to place in the Berkshires.
WOW! Thank you very much for your kind and detailed review. We're glad you took a chance on us and were pleasantly surprised! I'm glad your escape to the Berkshires gave you the R&R you were looking for and we hope to see you again! Cheers, Nell

The Cornell Inn is a sweet and cozy B & B ideally located to Lenox and Stockbridge. We loved the room called "Bess" (as in Bess Truman) which had a working fireplace and a canopy bed. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. We loved the breakfast buffet....everything was homemade and absolutely delicious. The breakfast eating area is lovely...there is a section with surrounding glass windows that looks out on to the garden. We would definitely return with bells on our toes!
Hi! We're glad you enjoyed your stay with us and within the beautiful Berkshires. Thanks so much for taking the time to write us a review! Hope to see you again in the not too distant future! Cheers, Nell

Stayed here for two nights right after a snow storm blanketed the area. I can't describe how beautiful the grounds were covered in snow with a small waterfall cascading off the back deck. The breakfast room faces this gorgeous view! The inn keepers are more than friendly and go out of their way to meet any and every need. The hospitality was unmatched. Our room was amazing, we had the Martha room. The fireplace roaring with a fresh blanket of snow and a lovely king sized bed, two wing backed chairs, refrigerator and coffee maker, and we were tempted to never leave the room. The inn is a stone's throw from the Shakespeare Theater and amazing dining. We will be back in the summer!!! Don't miss this Inn!! It was the best I have stayed in in the Berkshires!!
Thanks for the detailed and kind review. We greatly appreciate it! I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay in our neck of the woods. Looking forward to your return visit! Best Wishes Nell

I stayed here for 2 nights, and wish I could have stayed longer. I checked into my room in the lovely main house, to be met at the door by the smell of hot apple cider and gluten-free cookies. I stayed in "Helen", on the second floor. It was a medium sized room with a queen bed; I would imagine that it might be a little tight for 2 people with luggage, but it was great for one. The bed was comfortable, everything was clean, and I loved the antique style furnishings and decor. The B&B is just gorgeous, and it has a beautiful, large outdoor patio with tables for the warm months. Breakfast was delicious, and there is also the tavern open in the afternoon and evenings. It was nice sitting in the common area with a glass of wine, while perusing the book of menus from local restaurants, trying to decide where to eat. The owners were extremely friendly, and always on hand to give suggestions and advice. The location was good, a 3 minute drive from the business district (or a nice walk if it were warm), and there was plenty of parking. And it was really affordable considering everything. I couldn't have asked for a better stay. Will definitely be back!!!
Thanks for taking the time to write us a review! I'm glad you enjoyed yourself and your time in Lenox! Thanks Nell

The Cornell Inn had everything we wanted in a country inn: romance and comfort . Our room, "Barbara" was absolutely adorable with a queen canopy bed, wood burning fireplace and charming period details. It was also very clean, spacious and well furnished. The common areas and grounds were also nicely furnished and well maintained. The homemade breakfast was delicious. The Cornell Inn definitely exceeded our expectations, especially given the affordable cost relative to the other inns in the area.
We appreciate you taking the time to write us such a thoughtful and detailed review. We're so glad you enjoyed yourselves with us! Hope to see you again in 2015! Best Wishes Nell
