The Innkeepers go out of their way to attend to all the details to make your stay not just comfortable, but leaving you planning when you can come back again. Claudia is a great chef and goes out of her way to accommodate any food restrictions. Her gluten-free recipes are especially tasty.

    A Treasure Hunt

    June 06, 2011

Claudia and John welcomed me warmly at the Windflower Inn. Claudia offered me a choice of rooms, and John carried my suitcase to the room I chose. It was fresh and clean, with a large bathroom and a claw-foot bathtub with shower. The bed was comfortable and roomy. The view was stunning, with a view of a flowing pond fringed with ready-to-bloom daffodils. The breakfasts were treasures. Each morning I had a plate of fresh fruit, a pitcher of orange juice, tea, an English muffin, and eggs and bacon. The bacon was the best I’ve ever had: thick-sliced and crisp. The Windflower Inn is an aesthetic experience. John and Claudia welcome all ages, and I think children would have fun exploring the ten-acre property. In my delight, I created a “treasure hunt” for children: --Can you find the gumdrop jar? --Who is “Stella”? What are her favorite activities? --How many bird feeders can you find? --Why are the bird feeders close to or in trees? --Why are they different from one another? I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

    Always a wonderful visit!

The Windflower is the quitessential new England Inn. A beautiful, rambling inn with lots of charm and wonderful hosts. I have known Claudia and John for 20 years as a guest at the Inn and they always make our visits special. Breakfast is delicious (especially the cottage cheese pancakes and the french toast) and the afternoon tea and cookies are a great treat after a day of shopping, hiking, exploring etc. And, Stella, their dog is the friendliest dog ever! Highly recommended!
