This was our 1st stay at the Colonial Inn. There will be stays again. Were there for a graduation wishing we could have stayed longer. The Inn is a couple hundred years old but Tom (owner, lives there) has lovingly and carefully balanced original with newly restored. We arrived later than expected and Tom had our key in an envelope with a note of greeting at the "desk" and we were all ready for a good night's sleep. It turned out to be the most comfortable rest away from home. Room #7 is the 2nd largest in the house and all have private bath, 'fridge and T.V.(you won't need T.V.). The view from the wrap-around deck to Gloucester Harbor is one we will never tire of. There is an "info center" and we recommend you p/u the DISCOVER Gloucester Massachusettes Visitor Guide and Maps Tom provides- it's very helpful. Tom is a most gracious host and makes you feel welcome in his home. He's been there about 40 yrs. and we hope at least another 40!!! Thanks again Tom! V., G.,& A.

we had a splendid time - our room was fresh and bright, not over fruffy that some B&Bs can be. Tom was especially welcoming - we felt like old friends. He has an honest chat that we were comfortable with. and his love for the house and the area is contagious and added to our affection for Gloucester.
