Inn Details

Originally a private residence, the Winsor House Inn was built in 1803 by Nathaniel Winsor -- patriarch, merchant and sea captain -- for his daughter, Nancy, and her husband John Howland. At that time, the town of Duxbury was in the midst of a prosperous era of shipbuilding and merchant sea trade. The Winsor clan was one of the more prominent families of the period.

David and Patricia O'Connell purchased the Winsor House in 1976. The O'Connells have lovingly restored the Winsor House Inn to its original warm atmosphere and are continuing a long tradition of gracious hospitality.

Cancellations:
When making advance reservations at the Inn, please be reminded that we are making a commitment to the guest, the guest is also making a commitment to the Winsor House Inn. Therefore, in accordance with the Inn's reservation policy, all charges will be processed at the time the resrvation is made. To ensure a refund of a reservation deposit, cancellations must be made more than 30 days prior to arrival (a $25.00 cancellation fee will be deducted from the refund). If a reservation is cancelled within 31 days, payment in full will be charged to your credit card if we are unable to rebook the cancelled dates. Deposit and cancellation policies also apply to date changes and early departures. The individual making the reservation is responsible for all payments.
