Treat yourself to the most relaxing spot in Boston! Karen and Jon have created a floating paradise at the end of the 8 pier w/luxurious interiors, comfort and the BEST dang breaskfast you will experience at your appt. time on the dot! Absolutely loved this spot! It is worth you time and $ to be floating, fishing, drinking,eating,snapping pics of the HUGE ships gliding right past you and never making a wake! It is truely the best and most relaxing time ever. Karen and Jon make sure you want for nothing! A taxi will pick you up at the pier, better yet take the $3 ferry, and tour Boston on the back of a bike 'rickshaw'. THAT IS THE WAY to see Boston, do not try to drive. Food was fabulous anywhere. Do not miss this treat! We truely hope to be back.

My husband and I stayed on the Green Turtle on our first night in Boston. We are on our honeymoon and found this place and thought it was so neat! The owners are wonderful and so nice. The breakfast is amazing and they help you with whatever you need. The room was VERY clean. This place was awesome and we will be back again for sure!

My husband and I stayed on the Green Turtle 3 and LOVED IT. It is a unique experience and we would love to do it again. Karen made us an awesome breakfast each day and Jon delivered it right on time. They are a sweet couple to visit with and they make you feel right at home!

We spent several nights at the Green Turtle and can not say we have one complaint! Very clean, well organized, comfortable, cheery, fun, great homemade breakfasts, awesome staff and 100% unique! If you are looking for Paradise in Boston, you can find it at the Floating Green Turtle Bed and Breakfast. Spotlessly clean accommodations are either a houseboat or yacht. Both are tastefully decorated and include fine linens and plush towels. The innkeepers, Karen and Jon, have worked hard to create an atmosphere of total relaxation with their attention to detail. There is a microwave, dishes, flatware, and glasses, granola, coffee, tea, and a basket of snacks. The refrigerator is stocked with water, juices, milk, and yogurt. Karen and Jon are upbeat, friendly, and readily available to answer any questions or requests. They provide invaluable information on how to get around Boston, info on attractions, restaurants, etc. Parking and WIFI are free. Karen is an amazing cook and provides a delicious hot breakfast every morning which is delivered by Jon at the exact minute of a prearranged time. The pier is safe and quiet. One evening we sat on the yacht eating take out seafood and watching a sailboat race. If you are staying in Boston or just passing through, do yourself a favor and give Karen and Jon a call.

For commencement wkend 2013 in Bos we'd reserved a B&B near campus; however, a lost reservation turned our sights to find this gem in Charlestown's Navy Yard. Communication with Karen and Jon made our trip seamless. Arrival at Logan was followed by a short water taxi ride [during rush hour] minutes 2 the pier and just steps 2 the Green Turtle II we called home the next 4 days. Views great on the water and a welcome stretch after cramped quarters of aircraft. 3-5 adults in our party depending on guests flying in & out; space was comfortable & well appointed. Karen's breakfasts got us to great starts with special reqs no problem. Pancakes, eggs benedict, breakfast sandwiches. Fridge stocked with juices & bottled water & a snack basket for nibblers. Back from our treks around Boston we find our boat spruced up & ready. A queen bed in each stateroom & living room sofa pops out to a queen bed; all very comfortable. Plenty of seating about the boat atop in the eisenglass enclosed upper deck & aft on cushioned wicker sofas on which 2 read paperbacks in the bkshelves on board, catch up on emails w free wifi, or 2 watch tugs shepherding enormous freighters up the Mystic R. Or you can sit below & watch TV or DVD. Getting around, it's 7-10 minute walk to bus shuttle stations whicht get you to North Station next to TD Garden. From there, Boston's your oyster; we got week T passes that let us take the water transport from the Yard to Long Wharf pier a few blocks to Quincy Market. That ferry's dock is 10-15 min walk from boat [we're in our late 50s,]. Jon has schedules & up2date info in notebook on deck. Sleeping on a houseboat comfortable, though I did find myself still bobbing a bit the first day back in Texas after getting home. Bathrooms/showers a cinch. Don't worry. With efficient space, reliable plumbing,instant hot water, soaps, shampoos, and linens you just have to show up. Come ready 2 have a great time. We'll be back. Rich & Alice Gong San Antonio

If you are looking for atmosphere, hospitality, the unique adventure of staying on boat in the harbor and a great time....you are looking to stay at the Green Turtle! A first class fun experience hosted by two of the friendliest and most attentive hosts that also serve up the best breakfast anywhere.

What could be better than staying on your own private yacht? The Green Turtle II was wonderful! Karen and Jon greeted us at the pier and brought us to our boat. She had two berths, a galley kitchen and dining area, a sitting area with a flat screen TV and faux fireplace, an outdoor deck with wicker furniture and another sitting area up on the bridge. The whole thing was gorgeous. Breakfast was absolutely yummy! I am not sure how Karen could could such elegant and great food in her sailboat, but she did. Unfortunately, the weather was terrible when we stayed so we couldn't sit topside and the rain was noisy at night. Not the fault of our inn keepers. Next time we are in Boston I will definitely stay with them.

First time in Boston, Karen and Jon were wonderful attentive hosts and their accommodations were exceptional. What a treat!!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our say. John and Karen were extremely helpful; they explained all our travel options and places to visit throughout the city. Every hing we could need was right at our fingertips. The bed was so clumpy I did want to leave. It was wonderful falling asleep, the water gently swayed us like a baby being lulled to sleep. My only disappointment was breakfast; it tasted amazing and they even take request, you just only get one plate of food. I would have appreciated a plate for each of us. For those of us with a passion and hefty appetite there just wasn't enough food.

I booked a room to surprise my boyfriend for his birthday on the Green Turtle 1 which is more of a floating house than a yacht like the Green Turtle 2 and 3 and we loved it! The room was clean and very nice. the innkeepers we very friendly and upon checkout offered us a tour of their other two spaces since they were unoccupied. From the docks we had a wonderful view of the North End of Boston. Breakfast was delicious too!

We booked this to celebrate our Birthday weekend. We loved it so much that as soon as I got home I booked our Anniversary trip. Jon and Karen are so nice and friendly, oh I forgot to mention that they are also great cooks.

A nautical world of passing boats and tugs, of a gently bobbing houseboat, a world away but 15 mins from Boston harborside- this is Karen & Jon's world, do yourself a favour and share a few days with them, you could do a lot, lot worse.

We stayed on the boathouse and it was absolutely charming. The room was was fully stocked with everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Jon and Karen are wonderful keepers and very willing to help in any way to make the weekend wonderful. Can't wait to go back again.

We could not have picked a better place. The view, the breakfast, and most of all the hospitality of our hosts rose above all expectations. Just go!!

Jon and Karen were so welcoming and had many tips about the area, restaurants, and transportation. The houseboat was unusual, very well kept, and the welcome basket of goodies was delightful! However, I'm not sure the value was there as the dock is old with lots of obstacles (hoses, tools, etc) along the walkway. We were unable to sleep in because whenever someone was in the hallway, the sound carried through the thin door. (They also need some "Do Not Disturb" signs.) Overall, we were glad we stayed at the Green Turtle, but probably won't return.

Our stay at the Green Turtle Floating Bed and Breakfast was very enjoyable and we are looking forward to returning in the future. The breakfasts were delicious and Karen and Jon were hospitable and amicable. They were more than accommodating gracious.

I stayed there with my new husband for three nights after our wedding- two nights on the Green Turtle and one night on the GT2. Jon and Karen were immediately welcoming and informative with orienting us to the town and vessel. They had great recommendations for dinner spots. We're planning on returning with our kids, 9 and 6, to stay on the GT2- looking forward to fishing off the pier and trying our hand at pulling in lobster pots!

Great spot for unique getaway with easy access to downtown via water taxi. Karen and Jon do a super job taking care of all the details. Highly recommended for a not the same old overnight experience.

This has to one of the top places to stay in Boston. I loved every aspect of it. The location is convenient and it is easy to get around Boston by public transport from the Green Turtle, yet it felt like coming home to a peaceful sanctuary after a busy day. The outlook across the harbour is both peaceful and uplifting. One day there was even a seal in the water outside my window, most days ducks paddled past and I could watch the ships and boats across the harbour. I stayed indoors for most of one stormy day and felt so cosy and just enjoyed the ambience and view and the beautifully appointed room. Karen and Jon made me feel so welcome and provided a lovely, friendly, unobtrusive service and even lent me coats when I arrived unprepared for the cool weather. They had information about getting around ready and information on sites to see, places to eat which was particularly helpful. The breakfasts were delicious and the coffee is really good. As someone who likes an early morning coffee I really appreciated the coffee machine and coffee provided in the room. The location is close to public transport and it is easy to get around and the area feels safe to walk around even in the evening which is important to me as a single female. Catching a water taxi to and from the airport was easy, fun and probably the quickest way to travel. I stayed a week and wished I had longer; the whole experience was completely positive. I highly recommend a stay at the Green Turtle if you are in Boston.

This was intended to be a quiet get-a-way from the kids and it was that, and much more. After much shoveling, we arrived as the latest Nor'ester was just starting to wind down. The wind was still howling, and actually made for some amazingly beautiful sights in the Harbor. The stark winter tranquility was actually very beautiful from inside our toasty warm suite. (We actually had to turn the heat down!) Both Karen and Jon are charming, engaging, knowledgeable hosts, who provided great tips for both land and sea. As we leaved just 12 miles north, we thought we knew all the local spots, but their suggestion of the Navy Yard Bistro was just fantastic. And even provided an alternate walking route that blocked the wind. The suite was well-equipped with the essential barware and dinnerware, but surprisingly with some yummy snacks, water, hummus and chips, yougurt, etc. I should also mention the WiFi was easy and fast to connect to. The bathroom was surprisingly large for a boat, well provisioned, spotlessly clean and provided plenty of storage for all things. The breakfast was served precisely when you requested and was a real treat...nothing precooked about this...and the abundance of fresh fruit, YUM! We toured the Turtle II and III the next day and boy, as nice as the Turtle I was, I would very strongly recommend checking out these other two options if you were traveling with another couple or with family. You are onboard a boat, so there is a bit of nimbleness required. It has two staterooms with en suite bathrooms, one forward and one aft and they are nearly equal in size, which was by design, another detail Jon and Karen paid attention to. All in all, if we enjoyed this during 30+ mph winds and blustering snow, we cannot wait to try it in warmer weather!

This was our first time to Boston, and we wanted a special place to celebrate our anniversary. The Green Turtle offered a unique option to the traditional B&B or hotel. Imagine yourself on a house boat with amazing views of Boston Harbour, where you were lulled to sleep by the gentle waves. The room was great and well appointed, and Karen's hot breakfasts were wonderful. The location of this B&B is also great, as we were close to public transit and many great restaurants in the Charlestown and North End areas. Thanks Karen and Jon for your outstanding hospitality!

Karen and Jon are the perfect hosts! The room had a gorgeous view of the city and it was very clean and well kept. Breakfast was served to your room and absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend the Green Turtle. The location is great because you feel very removed from the fast pace of the city, but you can reach downtown in a matter of minutes.

I surprised my bf with a 2 night stay on the Green Turtle II B&B, and we couldn't have loved it more! Even though it was in January, middle of winter, the yacht was warm and cozy. Our hosts, Karen and Jon, were very friendly and accomodating. The yacht itself is positioned at a great location on the pier and has great scenary views. If we enjoyed it this much in the winter with the relaxing, peacefullness of being cozied up in a yacht for the weekend, I can only imagine the summertime with the patio's and BBQ's! The accommodations were superb, the views and location quite wonderful. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful with directions and restaurant suggestions. The location, so close to the ferry to downtown Boston made travel effortless. We had a terrific Sunday morning breakfast (in November) out on the dock, with a great view of Boston. Then, we had a short walk to the U.S.S. Constitution and Bunker Hill. We were so happy that we found the Green Turtle Floating B & B - it really made for a terrific Boston get away weekend.

Jon & Karen will go out of their way to make you feel 100% at home! If you stay on one of the boats, be sure that you are able to climb a small amount of stairs. Anyone that has issues with stairs should ONLY stay on the actual houseboat (no stairs). The parking spot that is included is wonderful, ditto the free wi-fi.

This floating house lulls you to sleep at night. It's so quiet being on the water, You'd never know you're in the city. Wonderful full breakfast, lots of treats left in the room. Yet it's close enough to walk to restaurants, as well as sightseeing. And clean! The owners are right next door if you need anything. Pick this place before any hotel in Boston!

What an amazing, unique experience! Why stay in a hotel when you can lounge on a yacht overlooking the city? Meeting Karen and Jon was like coming home. They were so warm, hospitable, funny, charming and quintessential Boston. We have never experiences anything like this and to top it off, the food was to-die-for! Top notch, chef inspired dishes that come straight to your door with a smile. Our visit has definitely spoiled us or future visits anywhere else! THANK YOU Karen and Jon!

My wife and I were always curious about the Green Turtle so we decided to book a night to check it out. We have traveled around the world and I must say, this was a pleasant surprise. From the welcoming to the breakfast to the gentle motion on the water. It was outstanding. the views are breath taking and we can hardly wait to book another vacation with the Green Turtle!

Stayed at Green Turtle for very relaxing weekend. Owners were busy preparing for hurricane but still gave us full attention. Great location to do as much or as little as you would want. Very unique B&B but still provided top quality accommodations. Would definitely recommend to others.

My husband and I stayed aboard the Green Turtle II for our 27th anniversary. We wanted something a little unique and this fit the bill. The boat is beautiful and has an amazing view. We absolutely loved it and can't wait to go back again. Karen and Jon were very welcoming and friendly. You can tell they are happy when their guests are happy. I would highly recommend staying here.

I would highly recommend this B & B to everyone going to Boston or just passing thru! Karen and Jon are wonderful hosts and bring a fresh incredible breakfast right to your a yacht deck! You have a super view of the Boston skyline and the sun rising the next morning! So enjoyed our stay!

We checked in on the last day of our stay in Boston and without a doubt knew instantly how wonderful it would be and wished we booked more nights. Karen and Jon were wonderful and gracious and the breakfast we got the next morning was heavenly. With the windows open overlooking the water and breakfast in bed who wouldnt feel they are on an amazing vacation?!?! We CAN NOT Wait to get back to visit Karen and Jon and our home away from home. Most definately when we return to Boston we will be booking more time to stay vs just one night! There is a place for cocktails within walking distance that we enjoyed as well and Karen and Jon had great advice on places to see and restaurants to eat at that were nearby. A++++++ Cant wait to visit again!

Our very best decision in visiting Boston was deciding to stay at the Green Turtle B&B. Just to make it easy, here's the scoop: -- We stayed on our own houseboat, complete with two beds, two baths, a living room with a flat screen TV, a breakfast nook, a kitchen, and two decks with nearly 360 degree views of Boston Harbor. -- The boat was impeccably clean and tidy. -- The beds were firm and really slept like a dream. -- The boat had lots of windows, so you had a wonderful view all the time. -- Every detail was attended toward, from the granola in the canisters to the fancy folds in the toilet paper. -- Breakfast was simply perfect, homemade, and a robust serving size. -- The refrigerator is stocked with water, yogurt, and other odds and ends. A bin on the stove held packaged snack foods. -- The innkeepers are incredibly friendly and nice, yet give you your privacy, too. They were hospitable at every turn; they filled special requests and gave valuable advice for first time visitors, although they could undoubtedly even give sage traveling advice or hotspot recommendations for seasoned travelers. In short, if and when we come back to Boston, we will schedule our trip around the availability of the Green Turtle B&B. Do we recommend it? If there were a way to give more than 5 stars, we would - Yes, stay here!

I wanted to surprise my husband with an "out of the ordinary" Annivrsary trip in the fall. I found the perfect Anniversary present when I read a review of the Green Turtle Floating B & B In Boston. Our stay included free parking and a beautiful, hot breakfast prepared by Karen and delivered by Jon, the owners of the Green Turtle. Our room was lovely with beautiful bed linens, a mini kitchen with microwave and fridg, a flat screen tv and air conditioning or heat as needed. The fridg was stocked with juices and water and there were many snacks as well. The location is wonderful; just one dock over from the USS Constitution and within walking distance of the wonderful North End. Our mornings were brilliant and calm and we never tired of watching all of the harbor traffic from our chairs on the dock with a cup of hot coffee. The night views were amazing as well with the skyline of Boston lighting up the sky like stars. It was a wonderful, relaxing visit. We will go back.

My partner and I spent 3 nights in early October at the Green Turtle. We stumbled across it whilst searching online for accomodation in Boston. It was truly a unique experience. The hosts, Karen and Jon treat you like old friends and nothing was to much trouble for them. Each day they discussed with us what we would like for breakfast the following morning, this was then delivered hot to our 'front door' at exactly the time agreed. When and if we ever get back to Boston we would certainly stay 'on board' again.

We stayed for 3 nights at the Green turtle at the end of our honeymoon in America at the beginning of October. We had a fantastic experience and Jon and Karen could not have done anything more to help us. Breakfast was served outside our room at a time convenient for us and our room was cleaned every day. There is a coffee machine and the fridge is refilled each day. Karen showed us all of the best sights to see in Boston and whilst in the navy yard in Charlestown it is only a quick and easy 10 minute ferry to the main part of the city. Overall we would not hesitate to recommend the green turtle and they even have two new boats for 4 or 6 people to use which also look amazing. Paul and Jo Collins

I stayed here with my husband in October 2012. It was an inviting and unique property and we loved every minute of our stay! Thanks to Karen and John for their hospitality.

We spent a week at Green Turtle in one of the comfy units at the end of June this year. We arrived exhausted after 7 weeks in Europe, but thanks to the marvellous hospitality of Karen & Jon and the so comfortable unit we were soon rested & ready to explore all that Boston has to offer. Harborfest afforded us the great opportunity to see all sorts of vessels on the water from small sailing boats skippered by school children to the tall ships & everything in between. We could lie back on that fabulous bed & see all the activity on the water just outside our window - even saw a young man fishing from the boat moorings in front catch a big stripey! Karen & Jon held our luggage when we had to leave for a few days and arranged for our laundry to be done and was back by the end of the day! Nothing was too much trouble! We were far from our home in Australia but were made to feel at home and welcome at the Green Turtle. We were able to walk everywhere & use the local ferry to go to the city centre and walked the freedom trail. We also sampled the eateries our hosts recommended - all in all - a wonderful bed & breakfast stay we would highly recommend to any travellers!

My friend and I had such a wonderful time staying at the Green Turtle Floating Bed and Breakfast. Karen and Jon made us feel at home and cooked such delicious breakfasts for us. I recommend staying here and look forward to returning soon.

The Green Turtle is unique as you stay on a floating vessel. Green Turtle III has two bedrooms and two full baths a galley, open deck area and living room. The hosts are super helpful and the overall feel is one of home. I can't wait to stay here again

Arrived by water taxi - the best way! Jon and Karen greeted us warmly and gave us a wealth of useful info, which greatly increased our enjoyment of the city. The views are superb and you are in a grandstand position to observe all the waterfront activities. The breakfasts are excellent and substantial. A perfect start to a holiday.

In Boston to enjoy a couple of baseball games, a bit of shopping, great food and fantastic accommodations.

We enjoyed a great stay on board the Green Turtle B&B. It was a unique experience with friendly hosts, a nice view of Boston, and a quiet place to cuddle as the sun set.

We stayed in the houseboat and will be booking it again. Next time we will go with another couple, who will rent the other side. The opportunities to walk to restaurants, Constitution, Constitution Museum and park-like areas was a pleasant surprise. We had made the reservation at the suggestion of a friend, who had just said, "You will like it". Also, we took water ferry from the next pier for $3 each and were dropped off near Aquarium and other attractions near downtown. Also, we could have walked to Italian North End.....Anyway, great and a perfect day weather-wise. We highly recommend this different Bed and Breakfast and did not want to leave. Having a drink at the end of the pier and watching the lights go on in Boston skyline buildings and having breakfast brought to us at the end of the pier were the highlights for us. Karen and Jon are wonderful unobtrusive hosts, who are right next door if you need them.

Thank you so much for everything! Your made me feel like I'm home. My room was like on the pictures online. Your breakfast was delicouse. But it's hard when you travel on, because I'had after my stay with you very high expectation. Thank you also Jon for driving me to the airport. When I come back to Boston I know the ONLY place I would stay is with you! I still remember the evening we spend outside. Karen yout tried to catch some fish and we were talking together and it was just one of thoses great times you never forget.

We stayed aboard one of the Green Turtle's private yachts for our 21 Anniversary. We were warmly greeted by John and Karen and escorted to our stunning and comfortable oasis. Within ten minutes ..... Cocktails on the back deck, looking at the harbour, sunshine and a warm breeze blowing .... it created a great memory. Breakfast was delivered exactly on time by Jon and was delicious. Centrally located so we were within walking distance to all the major highlights. We will return again to make more memories!!

A lovely respite after busy days sightseeing in Boston - a floating hotel room with a view of Boston. Super comfortable bed, tasty freshly made breakfasts, complimentary beverages & snacks in the room, friendly & knowledgeable hosts, free shuttle to town - hard to beat! Would also be a good base to explore areas outside of Boston - next trip we'll make time for that.

We only stayed one night but had a wonderful experience. The innkeepers couldn't have been nicer, and although we left very early to catch a plane, they had breakfast at the door at 5:30 AM, and made all of our cab arrangements for us. The B & B was just a 10 minute walk to the North End and the restaurant that was suggested was excellent, and exactly what we were looking for. We will definitely be back for a longer stay.

My hausband and I recently spent 3 nights aboard the 45 ft Green Turtle II. We enjoyed every minute of it, from the warm welcome we received upon arrival to the comfort and features of the boat, the great breakfasts and the tips on dining and sightseeing. Our only regret was we had to leave.

We just loved it. The view of the tankers outside our windows was priceless. You can walk to the North End from the B&B. The owners are perfectionist. The place was more then we could have asked for. Oh and the breakfast was so delicious. Home fries from off the skillet, frittata and fresh fruit. We live in Cambridge and this is a prefect spot for a staycation.

Excellent stay. Room was wonderful. Location was amazing. Free bus to downtown and back and excellent sitting on the dock in the evening. Breakfast was wonderful. Treaed more like family than guests.

This was our second stay on the houseboat, and it was as wonderful as the first. It is truly a unique, relaxing and fun experience staying on the houseboat with the great view of the harbor and the city. Some of the plusses for us: - our hosts, Karen and Jon, are wonderfully nice people and fun to talk with - breakfast, served when you request in your room, is great - an easy walk to the North End, then on to the rest of Boston - or take the ferry for a couple of bucks - a nice ride on the water - there are nice munchies/fun food, a refrigerator with water and some drinks, and other kitchen ware for your use - sitting on the dock with a cold drink, looking over the harbor is a great way to end any day - the gentle rocking of the boat at night, together with the sea air, will put anyone into a deep sleep - it's quiet, peaceful and a wonderful place to hang out We loved it, and hope to be back next year. We checked out the new cabin cruisers and they look like fun - especially sitting in the sitting area at the back of the boat with a great view of the city. Thorgan

Karen and Jon are wonderful hosts. They are very helpful, friendly, and a lot of fun to spend some time with. The boat is great! Very spacious and airy. The bed was wonderful too. Rocking gently to sleep on the water was so relaxing. The location is excellent. You can take the ferry into downtown, or a shuttle bus. Karen makes delicious breakfasts delivered hot and exactly when you've asked for it. They stock the kitchen with juices, water, coffee , tea, and snacks! A home away from home without the wok! Will definitely go back!!

We stayed at The Green Turtle B&B August 11th, and had a fantastic experience. Right off the bat the owners Jon and Karen made us very welcome. My girlfriend and I found our accommodations on Green Turtle 1 both comfortable and relaxing; we were both very impressed. Our room was decorated beautifully, and everything was immaculate. The breakfast that was delivered to our door in the morning, was oth fresh and delicious. We will always stay at the Green Turtle when visiting Boston, and we thank Jon and Karen for a wonderful weekend.

Our stay at the Green Turtle Inn was really outstanding. We arrived with the water taxi and enjoyed the beautiful view on the harbor and the Green Turtle Inn. Our room was located in the "main" house boat of the green turtle (the green house) and really lovely. The innkeepers Karen and John give you the feeling, that you are very welcome, and are really helpful (especially to tourist from abroad like us). We enjoyed the warm summer nights with a glass of wine on the wharf with the view at the harbor of Boston in the sunset. For sightseeing you can easily get downton by ferry or by public transport within 20 minutes! When we go to Boston next time, we will definitely book the Green Turtle again! Thank Karen and John for the nice tim at your place!

Who wants to stay in a boring hotel when you can stay on your own personal yacht? Take a water taxi from the airport directly to your front door and let Karen and John take care of you. We actually held a three-day meeting on the Green Turtle II and loved every minute of it. Only one caveat: If you get seasick very easily, opt for the Green Turtle I.

Dinner not included, but had a great cookout with innkeepers and other guest to watch July 4 in Boston harbor. Wonderful sitting on cool water instead of the heat downtown.

A little piece if heaven..... and you really are sitting on the dock of the bay! This is such an amazing place to stay. We arrived by water taxi for our four night stay to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and received the best welcome we have ever had on our travels round the world from Jon and Karen.  They were great hosts, nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel like part of the family. The suite was very comfortable with lots of extras and we really felt at home.  Breakfast each day was unbelievably good! We only wished we had stayed for longer!  This is such a peaceful place yet so close to the city. We were really sad to leave and the memories of our stay will be with us for a long time to come. My wife and I very much enjoyed our six nights stay at this truly unique B&B on the water. Karen and Jon, the innkeepers, were gracious hosts who went to exceptional lengths to accommodate all of our needs. We stayed on the Green Turtle for our honeymoon and it was the most amazing time. The accommodations were impeccably clean, romantic and quaint. Our hosts, Jon & Karen were friendly, helpful and kind. My husband and I have decided to stay on the Green Turtle for every anniversary.

My husband and I were trying to find a great place for our first anniversary. And came across the Green Turtle! The reviews itself gave me the comfort that this place Washington everything it promises to be. The room is so beautiful and clean and the view outside your window is outstanding! You are a 10 minute ferry ride to all the best Boston attractions. They did everything to make our stay simply the best! We will be going back again!

The views, the hospitality and the breakfast cannot be beaten. A nervous 10 minute car hire drive from the airport the reception and the room itself is enough to settle nerves. Karen, the innkeeper, could not have been more friendly and her breakfast is to die for. Add to that the views of a gigantic tanker from the bed, yes bed, and the duck nesting in the window box and the visit is complete. I just wish we had stayed longer.

This is THE place to stay if you are visiting Boston. Walking distance to all the sights and a peaceful hideaway at the end of the day.

Karen and Jon are great hosts, with helpful suggestions on the best places to go and things to do in the area. The breakfasts are top quality, (trained chef standard). A unique place to stay so near to a major city.

This is a fantastic little place. The hosts cannot do enough to make sure you enjoy your stay. It is a real haven of tranquility to return to the boat house after the bustle of the city and to be able to sit on the pontoon watching all the river traffic. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and they are stocked with a nice selection of snacks. The gentle moving of the water means a great sleep! This place is charming and unique and I would highly recommend it.

Great room (we stayed in the Loggerhead suite), hospitality and breakfast (the best pancakes we have ever eaten)! We stayed here the final two nights of a 5 day trip and were able to really relax while we visited the USS Constitution and Bunker Hill nearby. For visiting Boston, a 10-min walk and a ferry ride or a $10 taxi ride is required. We loved it!

I was looking to surprise my boyfriend with a birthday trip he wouldn't soon forget. The Green Turtle Floating B&B, along with proprietors Karen and Jon, far exceeded any of my expectations. The room was charming and cozy, the view of the harbor was terrific, the proximity and accessability to sight seeing in Boston was phenomenal. The breakfasts Karen prepared were delicious. Above all else, Karen and Jon's hospitality and attentiveness made this trip as unique and as special as I hoped. A truly wonderful experience!

The perfect Boston sanctuary! Karen and Jon are warm and welcoming hosts, providing comfortable accommodations, including complimentary parking, a wealth of local information, maps, suggestions. The B and B is within easy walking distance to the Water Taxi, the Constitution NPS site, and accessible easily by the "T". A delicious, home-cooked breakfast (hurray for crispy bacon!) is delivered right to your door. The view is fantastic. It is a perfect "10"!

Our short visit to Boston in July 2011 was defined by this amazing discovery - a really special & different experience. Karen & Jon are the most delightful hosts and it was fun to see how they lived - next door to the B&B on their yacht. I still have the image in my mind of them fishing for their dinner as we headed off in the water taxi to the airport. Green Turtle was indeed a highlight of our 3 week trip to the USA. Delicious breakfasts, fascinating traffic on the river, and good access to all we wanted to do in Boston. Do what you need to and get yourself there!

We spent Columbus Day weekend at the Green Turtle. What more can I say that hasn't already been said in the previous reviews? We had a fabulous time! The room is lovely, decorated beautifully, comfy bed , and the delicious home made breakfast served to us on the dock was perfect.The view of the city from the Green Turtle is priceless!! We spent several hours both days just relaxing on the deck chairs on the dock. Karen and Jon are the ultimate hosts, so helpful ,pleasant and friendly. They provide plenty of info on the city and have great recommendations on anything you may want to do. The location is great. It's so nice to park your car at the Marina(included!) and never have to touch it until your departure. We utilized the MBTA water ferry to Long Wharf and also walked back from downtown. Neighborhood has several places to stop along the way. We will definitely be back again next year for a longer stay!! Can't wait!

My husband and I started a 3 week trip to New England with 4 nights at the Green Turtle. We arrived from the airport by water taxi! Karen and Jon were so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They made lots of good recommendations and were always on hand when we needed help or advice. They live on a boat behind the b & b and every morning a lovely hot breakfast was delivered to our door. The standard of accommodation was excellent and everything had been thought of. We ate breakfast watching the numerous boats going by and were rocked to sleep every night. It was also lovely to sit outside on the deck with a glass of wine after a hard day sightseeing! Although slightly away from Boston centre this was not a problem as there was a free bus into town and also water taxis. There were some places to eat within walking distance which were excellent and it was a very comfortable area to walk around at night. The Green Turtle is absolutely amazing - the location is beautiful and unusual, the accomodation is spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated, and Karen and Jon have thought of absolutely everything. We spent the last night of our New England honeymoon there and from the moment we arrived, we were treated as friends by Karen and Jon; they are genuinely lovely, welcoming people. On arrival, we needed to return our rental car and when we got to the office, Jon had beaten us there, ready to give us a lift back to the Green Turtle! En route he gave us a mini-tour of Charlestown Navy Yard, pointing out handy locations such as the nearby bistro and the ferry stop. The following morning we were treated to a delicious, homemade breakfast, delivered to our door. Even though checkout was 11am, our flight home was much later and Karen and Jon let us keep our luggage at the Green Turtle so that we could spend the day in Boston, then they booked us a water taxi to the airport. We felt as if we were in a 5 star hotel, only it was much more fun and relaxing. Our only regret is that we had only booked to stay for 1 night. Thanks so much Karen and Jon - we can't wait to come back next year!

even though the weather was not cooperative, the experience was still an enjoyment. nice walking area and good restaurants, the harbor views fantastic and the hosts most accommodating!

We were made welcome by Jon and Karen the minute we arrived. This is a lovely room with great amenities, including snacks and breakfast. Very comfortable bed. Jon even took us to the airport the next morning. They make you feel like family. We just wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy sitting on the dock and the scenery.

The review classifications on this site are misleading. My expectations were high, so this property "met my expectations". If the options were simply 5 stars I would give 5 stars! We stayed 2 nights in September and were delighted with it. The only down side is that at weekends the bus connections to town are only every 1/2 hour and water taxis stop around 6pm. As I hate waiting, I chose to walk to the nearest T stops at North station and Boston College which are pleasant walks that take about 1/2 hour. We met our kids for an expensive meal in town, but in retrospect I wish we had invited them to the boat for a carry out meal on the pontoon where we could have had a drink and watched the sun go down. It is remarkable that such a relaxing place is so close to a bustling city. Karen and John could not be more welcoming and we would highly reccomend it to anyone.

I planned an overnight stay at the GReen Turtle as a surprise for my husband on our anniversary. The innkeeper was so essential in helping me plan our weekend and keep the excitement of my secret. I could not be more thrilled by the accomidations, the lovely breakfast, or the unbelievable views from the dock. Everything was PERFECT!! We will be back again real soon and can not thank the innkeepers enough for such a great vacation.

Surprised my husband for his birthday by taking him to the Green Turtle B&B. What a wonderful experience! Location is fabulous, the view of the harbor is wonderful. So easy to get around the city...you can walk all around or you can take the water taxi, ferry or bus...everything is very accessible. Karen, the owner, met us right as we pulled in to the parking lot (another amenity). She was so friendly and accomodating and was full of knowledge about the city. Jon, her partner, was out of town so we did not meet him until it was time to check out, although only knowing him for 10 minutes it was "hugs" goodbye...wonderful people. Our room was spotless and beautifully decorated, full of snacks and drinks. The bed was very comfortable with big pillows and a warm comforter. Karen/Jon deliver your breakfast outside your door in the morning. I was expecting pastries and instead had an egg and bacon sandwich, homefries and a baked apple...Karen is a wonderful cook!!! We stayed a weekend at the Green Turtle and within 5 minutes of arriving, we asked if we could move in! That was only reinforced as the weekend progressed to the point of sadness in leaving at the end of it! Karen and John are absolutely fabulous people who are welcoming, warm, friendly, caring, on and on and on - they honestly felt like friends by the end of our 2 day stay! They were there for anything we needed while at the same time giving space so we could enjoy our weekend privately as well. Artie, Mary, Jon and Karen are truly some of the very best people you'll ever find on earth. So GRACIOUS and a TON OF FUN. Warm and inviting people - they want nothing but the best for YOU and will turn themselves inside out making sure your stay here is an ideal one. This is an unbelievable way to vacation and to see Boston. There's just no other way to experience Boston, in my humble opinion. On the Green Turtle, you're a million miles away while, at once, being in the middle of a big city...that's hard to do! You will leave this place smiling and sad that you have to go. Seriously.

Relaxing, Quiet & close to everything. The Green Turtle was a great place to end our first (not last) visit to Boston. We loved starting our day having breakfast & coffee sitting on the dock. Karen & Jon were very friendly & offered great advice on where to go, what to see & how to get there (a close ferry ride or the free shuttle) or you could just walk into the city if you were crazy like us. The room was very comfortable & very quiet compared to our stay in the North End.

Amazing B&B,Karen and Jon are brilliant hosts and our stay was fantastic.Who could ask for more than sitting eating your beautifully prepared breakfast looking out across Boston Bay. Much better than four walls in a hotel any day. Local water bus takes you over to the Aquarium,Faneuil Hall and Quincy market for only $1.75 and only 85 cents if you are over 60 !!! When we arrived at Boston airport we took the free shuttle bus( No 66) to the dockside then got a water taxi, which took us directly across Boston Bay right up to the pontoon where Green Turtle is.Great way to reach your accommodation.Look forward to our next visit.

Karen and Jon were more than welcoming at all times during of our stay. They made sure we were aware of all things to do and see in Boston as well as local transportation options. We have found a new place to stay when we visit Boston.

You want an example on how to deliver INCREDIBLE Service? Book a few nights here and take notes. I know I'm going to regret saying how great Karen, Jon, and the "green turtle" is, BUT I use other reviews to base my decisions , so I should do the right thing and tell you about this place. The room is in a great (no-Really Great) location. The Room is in immaculate condition when you arrive and during your stay. I'm not sure who cooks- but it is a really great breakfast. When I say "really great Breakfast", I ask that you think of all the times you would be served breakfast and regret it. Hell, I was served delicious pancakes with strawberries and cream -with Hurricane Irene scheduled to arrive in 6 hours!! Are you kidding me? a Great tasting breakfast served while the hosts are securing the rooms and their boat for the impending hurricane! Please! You will Not regret your decision (if you are lucky enough to get in) to stay at the Green Turtle.

We stayed at the Turtle for a long weekend recently. It is the best B&B we have stayed in, and one we plan to visit often. The rooms are what you'd expect on a boat - not very big but adequate with everything in it's place. It is very well done - our hosts, had really thought of everything. The bed is very comfortable with many pillows, there is a small table for eating, there are munchies on the countertop, water and juice in the refrigerator, and so many small touches that you know they really cared about the comfort of their guests. And of course there were comfortable deck chairs and a small table for sitting on the dock and looking over the city and harbor. Best of all you are on the water and can open the windows and let the ocean breeze in, while gently rocking to sleep. The location outside the city core may be an issue for some. You can't just leave your room and be in the city, but for us that wasn't an issue. It's fairly easy to walk to Boston. We walked a great deal at night and felt safe at all times. Walkways were well lit, there were lots of other people out walking, and it was well patrolled. Everyone we asked told us they felt very safe in this area. The Inn provides breakfast in the morning, discretely brought to your door whenever you decide. It was simply wonderfully delicious each and every day. The perfect start to the day! The hosts, John and Karen live in the sailboat next to the Inn, and are around should you have a question or need anything. They are wonderful, interesting people, and will make you feel right at home. I give this 5 stars all around. You can't beat the views and ocean air of the rooms, everything you need seems to be there (and some things you may not expect - like free munchies!), it's very clean and comfortable, and the breakfasts are wonderful. It's the perfect place for a romantic stay in a great city. A real gem.

This was our first trip to Boston and we wanted somewhere different to stay, away from the usual hotel chains. The Green Turtle B & B soon became our choice after reading various reviews. From the moment we booked Karen & Jon were in contact and offered useful advice, which continued all the while we stayed at the Green Turtle. Nothing was too much trouble. Jon and Karen made us feel welcome on our arrival and we soon felt at home. We were free to come and go as we pleased and although they were around and we would chat, neither Jon or Karen were intrusive and if we wanted to be left to our own devices then I'm sure we would have been. The accomodation was bright,modern,well maintained,clean and airy. The room was large, certainly big enough to accomodate the king size bed, kitchenette and seating area with ease - without feeling cramped. The en-suite was also clean and roomy. The facilities were excellent with a TV with built in DVD, microwave and a stocked fridge.Tea/coffee and snacks were replenished daily. The bed is worth a mention just on its own...it was fantastic - big,soft and comfortable - and gave us some of the best nights sleeps we have encountered in a long time!!!! Breakfasts were plentiful with cereal, yoghurt, fruit juices, milk being readily available in your room and each morning at a time agreed by you, either Jon or Karen would bring you a cooked breakfast, which varied daily. What there was certainly set us up for a day of sightseeing! Getting into Boston and back again was easy by using the free bus that operated every 15 minutes on a daily basis between 13th Street and the General Hospital, and something that Jon and Karen suggested we use, although a half an hour walk along the boardwalk would get you to where the free bus would drop you to sight see the waterfront area of Boston anyway. Overall the experience was one that met all our expectations,and was certainly value for money due to its unique location and service.

If you think expectations are often greater than reality, the Green Turtle is the exception to that rule! I saw the Green Turtle on Bostons local TV show Chronicle. I thought it looked unique, comfortable & relaxing. I immediately booked a 3 night stay. After booking, buyers remorse set in. I started wondering if it was really as great as it appeared on TV. Well, I am glad to say it was better than expected! My wife and I had a great time getting to know John & Karen and have been telling all our friends this is a bucket list item. The room, very cofortable. The Breakfasts, Great! I am gluten free and Kaen and John made sure I had gluten free toast with my breakfasts. This was a surprise anniversary getaway for my wife and she loved every minute of it. We got to have our alone time but we also took time to go visit our Kids and grandchildren who live in th Boston area. This was a great way to spend some vacation time alone and still see our wonderful kids and grandchildren. Put the Green Turtle on your Bucket List you won't be disappointed. Bob & Sue NH

My wife surprised me with a getaway weekend for our 40th...and was I ever surprised. As we arrived we were greeted by John who assisted with our luggage. The approach to the Green Turtle is so unique that you dont quite understand were you are going until you actually get there...and then you just can't stop smiling. Karen showed us thru our wonderfully appointed room and the weekend officially began. As there are only two units, it is very private with the best times early in the morning, and then afternoon into the evening. Now that we have discovered the Green Turtle with John and Karen...we will not wait another 40 years to visit.

The Green Turtle was one of the best travel experiences we have ever had....there is no detail left unattended by Karen and John....we loved the property...totally relaxed and tookk in the ambience of the city in a whole different way...we will definately be back!

I just returned from a four day stay at The Green Turtle where I celebrated my 40th birthday. The room was wonderful; very clean and modern decor, stocked with various drinks and snacks, coffee/tea, etc. The bed was heavenly, emphasized by the soft rocking on the water at night and the freshly cooked breakfast that followed each morning was top notch. The Green Turtles' location was perfect, walking distance to most must see Boston attractions and minutes to the "T" for traveling further distances. If touring is not your thing sitting on the dock just outside the door was tranquil, almost hypnotizing watching the boats sail by. Karen & Jon could not have been more friendly and helpful.

We just came back from our stay at the Green Turtle. All the previous reviews are true! This was the BEST getaway we've ever had. Jon and Karen are the most friendliest hosts. They make you feel that you have known them for a long time eventhough you have just met them!! We will definitely be back and just might make it a yearly getaway. We stayed here just one night to do something different and it was fantastic. We lucked out because the weather couldn't have been better (couldn't imagine it would be all that great in lousy rainy weather). Wonderful innkeepers....informative and "there" but not in your face like some can be : ) Would definitely recommend it to someone a little adventurous!

This floating inn exceeded our expectations. Everything was lovely from the room, to the beautiful views of Boston Harbour, to the breakfast delivered to our room each morning. This was an exceptional experience. The city of Boston was within walking distance and the inn was close to the ferry and tours. Our host was very helpful and always available if we needed anything. We are looking forward to a return trip.

From Jon meeting us at your reserved parking spot in the Marina to our last great breakfast from Karen, it was great -- personal and professional in every way. Comfortable, well-appointed room, strong WiFi signal, great views, deck chairs on the dock, etc., etc. We will return.

Para quien no tuvo nunca la oportunidad de vivir en un barco es una experiencia muy distinta para los que si es algo muy similar pero con mayores comodidades. Fuimos muy bien recibidos y luego atendidos por sus dueños que viven al lado. Todo muy bien mantenido y limpio, muy acogedor. Sabe recomendarte lugares de visita y de traslado y se ofrecen a todo tipo de resolucion de dudas. Hay lugares donde comer cerca en marinas cercanas y el lugar de las marinas esta muy bien cuidado y presenta un muy buen lugar para caminar. Para quienes huyen de las grandes ciudades es un lugar ideal de estar muy cerca pero muy lejos.

Location is everything and that's surely the case with the Green Turtle B&B. Relaxing, lots of area attractions within walking distance, wonderful hosts; Karen and Jon. Our only regret was due to upcoming renovations on the pier which we were unaware of, we were actually in a slip just off the waterfront instead of, as pictured, up front with full view of the skyline. We would definitely go back - after renovations are complete to really get the feel of the houseboat with the skyline view.

Everything about our stay at the Green Turtle was outstanding! From the comfy bed to the delicious breakfasts, everything was an A+! Jon and Karen were terrific hosts and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. They explained the local spots as well as the best ways to get around the city. Yes, I am so pleased to offer a review on the Green Turtle Floating Bed and Breakfast. We were on a 5 week vacation in USA. The Green Turtle offered a different experience that went way above and beyond anything you could get at a hotel chain. Our hosts ensured the fridge was stocked with anything you could want all in room costs, free internet and went to the trouble of waking early, cooking a hot breakfast each day before we headed out sightseeing and even at the early hour of 5am, they were there with another hot breakfast and help to the taxi they had arranged for us. There was nothing lacking at all, warm and cosy and felt like home away from home for a few day, even though it rocked us to sleep at night as a bonus.

Karen & Jon are wonderful. They make you feel comfortable the moment you meet them. Breakfast was a wonderful surprise, scrambled eggs, bacon, homefries, etc. I will and have recommended the Green Turtle to all our friends.

I stayed in January 2011 during a typical Boston winter with lots of snow. Green Turtle was always a warm sanctuary of an evening when I got back and Karen would often have some soup ready to warm me up! Jon & Karen are wonderful hosts and nothing is much too much trouble. Jon's recommendation of the free shuttle bus service saved me a fortune in ferry fares alone! Can't recommend enough and I will be back some day

I booked this as a surprise birthday present for my boyfriend who absolutely loves boats thinking this would be a unique gift that would take him by surprise. It far exceeded my expectations!!! John and Karen were absolutely amazing with what they did for us! They were helpful with everything including providing a birthday cake and birthday banner as a welcome for Clay. The accomodations were so comfortable and welcoming we hated to leave. Staying on a houseboat in Boston Harbor in January may seem crazy but this was one of the best getaways we have ever enjoyed. The room was cozy, the gentle rocking was soothing, the snowy docks were shoveled and very manageable, the view of the city was stunning, the delicious breakfast arrived warm at our door each morning. Oh, we wish we could have stayed longer. We used City Water Taxi to visit the ICA and restaurants in the Fan Pier area- picked up right outside our door. Go! You will love it. Innkeepers Karen and Jon are attentive but didn't hover. Just a perfect and different winter escape.

Great place to stay if you love to watch boats of all sizes! Warm and cozy room, delicious breakfast delivered each morning..Great location to explore Boston by public transportation or foot and leave the car behind! Hosts are genuinely nice people.

This is the coolest B & B. Very unique and so much better than a regular hotel. Can't wait to return in warmer weather. Convenient to lots of fun attractions, shops and eateries. Loved the shuttle boat back to the Turtle. It provided great views of the harbor.

Have you ever been excited about a vacation and just hoped that it would turn out as neat as you were wanting? Well, this vacation/getaway exceeded any expectations we had! It started from the moment we arrived at the secured dock and innkeeper Jon met us with umbrellas and a roll cart to take our luggage. He had a cheery welcome even though we arrived in the middle of the night. It went uphill from there as we arrived to an adorable, cottage style, houseboat with a beautiful garden like exterior and walked into a spotless room that truly should be labeled luxury. From the linens....and oh my goodness....the linens and bed! To the yummy goodies, unbelievable cleanliness and lastly but not least.... to the service. It is five star, literally in every area. We are world travelers, with picky taste and this trip truly surprised us as one of our favorites and exceeded any expectation. We went in the winter and it was the coziest, most romantic winter trip we have made. I almost hate to leave this review as I don't want to ruin the "secret". It's already out down here in the south as my husband, who never raves about trips, can't stop talking about Green Turtle and now.......even Yankee magazine has found this treasure and wrote about it here....http://www.yankeemagazine.com/issues/2010-05/travel/best-ma-2010/lodging-Boston-area. I was proposed to here on a Sunday night. It was the best surprise I have ever received! When we got there I was truly surprised and Jon and Karen made me feel completely at home; welcoming us there. The room was beautiful and the bed, well words just aren't enough to explain how comfortable it was. The breakfast was wonderful, just what I needed to start the day. The whole night was like a dream come true from the moment I got there, to the proposal, to falling asleep to the soft rocking of the houseboat. Thank you Karen and Jon for sharing your amazing home with us!

Who knew? At the end of a pier, past unbelievable yachts, sits the perfect little spot right in Boston. If you love the water and crave something different, the Green Turtle is the perfect "hotel". We packed a lot of sight-seeing into 3 days and always looked forward to returning. The sunrise on our last day was breathtaking. We highly recommend this jewel and hope to return.

We were totally unprepared for what we experienced! We loved being out in the middle of the harbor with nothing to see but the lights of our favorite city in the world. We only stayed one night and had a 6AM flight. Usually breakfast is brought in the morning but Karen and Jon remembered that we had to leave before dawn and still had our breakfast ready for us anyway. They arranged a taxi to the airport that was right on time and would have done anything for us to make our visit even more perfect. You could not ask for more charming accommodations with the sweetest people ever. We hope to return soon! Thank you for a lovely stay.

We have found an oasis of tranquility in a bustling city ! fabulous loaction, fabulous hospitality, right down to the champage on arrival and silver wedding balloons and banners all arranged in secret by our travelling companions and Karen - the hostess with the mostest !! The best day of our stay was when we stayed in and relaxed in the sun on the dock , fishing to our hearts content - catching BIG strippers and a bluey ! all cooked to perfection by Karen and eaten by ourselves , Jon and Karen couldn't do enough for us , what ever we enquired about they sorrted for us , a big thank you to jon for sorting out our car hire .... We will definatly be back

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we were treated like old friends round to visit. The location is breathtaking, with views over to Boston across the water. We ate dinner on the deck as the sun went down and the lights of the city were reflected in the water and ships sailed past, towering over us. .... unless you are prepared to return time and again. The setting is perfect, the rooms just great, the service and hospitality outstanding and the 'innkeepers' just brilliant. If you want to do something a little different in Boston and still have access to everywhere, then it has to be the Green Turtle. Add to this a fishing trip with Artie (but make sure Mary comes along to keep him in order and find the fish) and you will have a stay to truly remember.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Green Turtle. It was so nice to come to Boston and just relax at the Green Turtle. We loved being in the bay and watching the sunsets. We will come back someday.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Green Turtle for 8 days which included the July 4th holiday! We absolutely loved the Green Turtle and hope to come back soon. Very relaxing watching all the boat traffic go by. We enjoyed watching Boston twinkle in the evening light! What a treat to stay here...we loved the breakfast and the hospitality of both Artie and Mary. While Jon and Karen were 'off duty', they were also willing to answer any questions we had. Absolute luxury and the best service in the greatest location. We were able to walk all around the historic Charlestown Naval Yard and into the North End for fine Italian dining, but the best was just sitting in the deck chairs sipping champagne, enjoying the sea breeze and watching the boat traffic. Total relaxation!

We loved this place! We stayed in the Sea Turtle suite, beautifully decorated, immaculately clean. The innkeepers, Karen and Jon, were warm, gracious, accommodating. The location on the harbor was awesome; we enjoyed the night lights of Boston as darkness fell, and waking to the sunshine and bustle of harbor activity.

This place is just fantastic. Coming to Boston from Europe, staying at the Green Turtle just completed the experience. We will not forget the beautiful sunrise the greated us in the morning :-). Thank you for your great hospitality and all your assistance. We hope to come back again some time!

We just returned from a business trip to Boston where we chose to stay at the Green Turtle because we wanted a different lodging experience & that is exactly what we got! Jon met us in the parking lot (free parking - NICE) & carted our luggage along the docks to our lovely, spotless room. We usually travel with a cooler, but with the amenities listed on the website, we left our cooler behind & enjoyed the delicious coffee & juices Karen & Jon stocked in the fridge. They asked what time we would like breakfast delivered & there was a nice breakfast basket waiting outside our door at the precise time we asked for it. We walked to the north end for dinner both nights we were there & sat on the dock upon our return & marvelled at the Boston skyline & the unique setting of the Green Turtle. We will definitely be back & would recommend this to anyone with a sense of adventure.

I stayed at the Green Turtle for a total of several weeks spread out over December - March. The inn is charming and lovely and located in an incredibly peaceful, relaxing setting only a short boat or bus ride, or walk, from downtown Boston, the skyline of which sits impressively across the harbor. The rooms are well-appointed, efficiently laid out and infinitely comfortable, reflecting the innkeepers' impressive attention to detail and general warmth and thoughtfulness. Everything one could possibly need is provided: from the strong shower and luxurious bed to the wine glasses and cheese board. The included wireless service is a particularly welcome touch. The Green Turtle is a gem - close to the action if you want it, but providing a cozy, private retreat if you need a break from it all.

My husband and I stayed at the Green Turtle in early March 2010. From the personalized outstanding service from Karen and Jon to the spectacular view of the Boston Harbour we were impressed. This floating paradise is cozy and pristine. It so happened that when we were in Boston the weather was 50 degrees, we got to take advantage of enjoying our Canadian Caesar Cocktails on the dock and take in the gorgeous view. We saw the Green Turtle when we were on a Duck Boat tour in the summer and thought it would be a great way to spend New Years Eve, and we were right. Absolutely superb amenities I can not say enough about, from the way the room is decorated, the warm comfy bed ,the lovely linens ,stocked fridge and delicious snacks. And then when you wake up to a warm pastries and fruit deliveried right outside your door. We did not want to leave and the owners Jon and Mary from the moment they met us at the dock made us feel like family . We can not wait to back in the summer and sit on the deck and watch the sunset.

It was Christmas week wet and cold; but, on the Green Turtle, warm and snuggly. The superb amenities, the delectable breakfasts, the gentle swaying to sleep, became all the more magical with each inhabitant we met. The welcoming smiles, the "Hello, great to meet you," gave us pause, knowingly nod, "You know we could get used to this." ¿ One morning, very early, one of us went out to see the sun rise, and saw an unusual rippling about 10 feet from the dock. A head popped up, looked around, it was a harbor seal. We can't wait to go back!

What a stroke of luck to stumble upon the Green Turtle when searching the internet for a place to stay in Boston. The sightseeing we did during our 5 nights in Boston was all very nice (Navy Yard, downtown, Freedom Trail, whale watch, renting a car to drive up to Maine), but the really special part of our trip was the Green Turtle experience. Within hours of being greeted by owners Karen and Jon at the dock, we felt like we had been friends for years. They were there to meet our every want and need, yet were careful to give us our privacy. The Green Turtle is everything all the other reviews talked about...comfortable, beautiful, impeccably clean, and unique. But what I will always remember about the Green Turtle is the people behind the place. Karen and Jon devote their heart and soul to providing their guests an "ultimate experience". If you love the water, boating and/or sailing...this is the place for you!

The Green Turtle Inn here in Charlestown is the best of Boston’s many delights! Boston has many places to walk about - the best walk of all was the harbor walk back to the Green Turtle Inn at the end of our evenings! We enjoyed taking the water ferry to Long Wharf (in the heart of Boston) walking about catching the T and hailing cabs to the many special events (MIT Energy Night was great!) and fine restaurants in the Boston area. Carmen's was a favorite seafood dinner in the North End small and charming best to make reservations, another great seafood lunch was behind Marriott Long Wharf. Again and again, it was the short walk by the bay to our beloved Green Turtle Inn that we enjoyed the most, quite hide-a-way in the midst of big city - out here you smell the sea and hear the lapping waters which is grand indeed after walking about in a crowded city with lots of noise and smell of diesel and gas. The Green Turtle is a wonderful escape and you know bring warm pastries and fresh fruit will be delivered every morning and you know the good Captain and/or his first mate Mary will be happy to help with whatever you might need along the way. My favorite part of Boston is without a doubt the Green Turtle Inn! If we ever return to Boston it will be based on availability of the Green Turtle Inn! Rue and Russ from Tallahassee, FL

I thought the idea of a floating B & B was quite unique and thought it would a fun to stay there and surprise my husband for his recent retirement. Karen, one of the “crew”, greeted us at the marina and walked us down to the Green Turtle – we were blown away by what an awesome place it was!! Two inviting deck chairs and table are available to each unit. The dock was decorated with beautiful flowers, as were the window boxes. Our suite was beautifully decorated in greens and brown with a nautical touch. Everything looked brand new - so clean and sparkling. We enjoyed sitting on the dock so much that we never followed through with my plans to tour Charlestown or Boston during the day. The only time we left was to walk to dinner at one of several nearby restaurants. What’s great about the location is that you are a five-minute walk from the ferry that travels back and forth to Long Wharf about every 30 minutes. Long Wharf is located a block or two away from Fanueil Hall and the Government Center – plenty of places to eat and toast your great fortune of staying at the Green Turtle – which we did the next day!! There is also a water taxi that will pick you up at Green Turtle’s front door and drop you off at your ocean front destination.Everyone was so friendly – two of our hosts, Karen and Mary were so nice and helpful, answering all our questions. We also had great fun waving to the passing boats (and dancing along with the nightly party boat as it passed, under a moon lit sky!!). The next morning we enjoyed a delicious continental breakfast that was delivered to our door – breakfast croissants, muffins, and fresh fruit. Our suite was well stocked with snacks, yogurt, granola, cereal, juices, milks, water etc. We hated to leave, but assured our “crew” that we would be back!!! There’s nothing like being lulled to sleep by the ocean currents!!

What a perfect place to stay in Boston. The accomodations, as well as the trio of owners were wonderful. The Green Turtle is lovely. Decorated beautfully, plush linens and towels, an extremely comfortable bed, a stocked regrigerator as well as snacks. Our breakfasts were great. The atmosphere of our room as well as sitting on the dock watching the sun set offered most peaceful and relaxed feeling. Pure tranquility. There was nothing that did not exceed our expectations. A perfect choice. The next time we come to Boston, there will not be a second thought of where to stay~The Green Turtle. ~~ Perfect

The Green Turtle B&B is everything as advertised and so much more. The location is perfect with an outstanding view of the Boston harbor and easy access to the sights and sounds of Boston proper. The room was clean and comfortable and the morning fresh baked bread and fruit was incredible. We spent most of our time sitting in the deck chairs watching the sunset, the morning sunrise and the many activities going on in the water. However, even more impressive was the chance to get to know the inkeepers (Karen, Jon, Artie and Mary) and spend time chatting with them. They truly made us feel like part of the family and gave us a lot of great information on the things to see and do while in the area. The only negative was that we were only able to spend one night there. We could have stayed several more and not get tired of this unique experience. I have already referred a business friend and he has booked his plans to stay here. This is a stop that you have to make when traveling anywhere close to the Boston area.

Transportation so convenient, delicious dinner in the in the North End, and staying at the B&B was a perfect way to start the holidays. Enjoy!

When you arrive at the Green Turtle you are instantly greeted with the fragrant scents from the flowers from the numerous window boxes. Upon entering your suite your attention is drawn to the innkeepers attention to details. They are tastefully decorated which translates to comfort. The bed was extremely comfortable and covered with down comforters and plush blankets. (During our stay we had a few days of very cool weather). Internet service is availble as well as cable TV. Breakfast was provided daily and was varied and very enjoyable. Nightime brought fresh ocean breezes thru our windows. Mornings were enjoyed relaxing in deck chairs sipping coffee and planning our day. This review ends with a "WOW"! We are looking forwardto our return to Boston and the treasure we found on the Harbor.
