Most Unique Stay of my Life

5 on August 21, 2014

Staying aboard the Turtle III was more than I dreamed! If you are inspired by water, this is your stay! The innkeepers were some of the nicest people I have met! They thought of everything!

Relaxing Getaway

5 on August 18, 2014

We enjoyed our stay at The Green Turtle. Jon and Karen were wonderful hosts and the pancake breakfast was delicious! A little noisy at times with the airport being across the harbor, but it was also entertaining to watch the planes come and go. We ate dinner at a nearby restaurant (which was highly recommended by our hosts and our friends who had stayed previously) and were not disappointed. Having a beautiful boat as our accommodations was a dream come true. We will definitely return!

Best out of the box vacation!!!

This Place is Awesome!

5 on August 12, 2014

Perfect location, clean room, fantastic breakfast, and very nice owners. I recommend staying here. When we visit Boston again, we will definitely stay here!

Unique! You don't wanna miss it.

5 on August 12, 2014

Karen and Jon are amazing hosts and the Turtle is a one-of-a-kind experience! It was a delightful stop in our honeymoon tour around the States, and a peculiar way to live Boston. We highly recommend it. -- D&F

Why didn't we book more nights?!!!

5 on August 11, 2014

What a fantastic time aboard the Green Turtle II!!! Jon and Karen were fantastic and the yacht was amazing! The bed was super comfortable, the breakfast was home cooked and delicious, and the weather couldn't have been any better! We felt like queens aboard such a beautiful vessel and just wish we would have known when we booked that we should have stayed more nights! This is a perfect out of the ordinary B&B experience that you will NOT regret! The Green Turtle II is bigger than the GTI, but I didn't board the GTI so I can't tell you how it was. We LOVED the GTII, though!

Excellent stay

4.8 on August 04, 2014

Great people. Beautiful place. Excellent stay in July 2014.

Must try!!

5 on August 04, 2014

My husband and I love trying new things and traveling. Having that been said we have never rented a yacht before as a place to stay. It was so great! We were greeted by the owners in person and we spoke to them in person prior to our trip. Having genuine people on the receiving end makes all the difference. They even helped guide us and made restaurant recommendations and told us about a great trail to walk on. It took no time at all to get into Boston from the yacht. Don't be detoured about taking a cab into town. Just park and call the service the owners recommend and voila your all set! Breakfast was served to us the next morning and we ate on the boat while watching the planes land and take off at Logan. My advice is if your traveling with another couple like us this is the best way to go. The privacy was great. Also if the other couple lets you plan the trip like in our case suprise them! We will return to the Green Turtle again. We hope you try something new! Betsea and Wes

Fantastic Stay!

5 on August 04, 2014

Wonderful stay, fantastic hosts! John and Karen are amazing, and so is the Green Turtle II~~

Excellent

4.8 on July 31, 2014

We stayed in the Green Turtle. John and Karen are wonderful hosts. Breakfast both Saturday and Sunday were delicious. The room was spotless and decorated tastefully. Airport was a bit noisy but we were busy enough not to let it spoil our stay. Thank you John and Karen!

Getaway

Wonderful 4 day stay at the Green Turtle. Karen and Jon are a joy. Our room was spacious and so clean! Highly recommend the place.

green turtle...what a find!!!!

4.6 on July 21, 2014

What a pleasant surprise. I was a little hesitant when booking, floating B&B? But worth every penny and enjoyed every minute of my stay. Wish I could have stayed longer, but will definitely go back.

Perfect holiday

5 on July 21, 2014

I'm sorry to say that we only planned on one night with Green Turtle, but it was a wonderful experience nonetheless. Jon and Karen are an amazing couple, full of energy and warmth. I felt like I was visiting family, despite knowing them for less than 24 hours. Karen was very helpful via email prior to my booking, and was in contact with me before my arrival time to check-in on anything I might need beforehand. We got there in the rain, and Jon arrived with an umbrella and wagon - he took our luggage and we had the umbrella. Such a gentleman. Our room was ready to go with water and such in the fridge, and several bags of chips/popcorn. Coffee and tea available as well. They suggested a local restaurant for dinner, Jon ran and got us a bottle of wine (the restaurant was BYOB), and they made a cab reservation and dinner reservation for us. We didn't even lift a finger, just a glass and a fork at dinner. The cab ride was exactly the cost they told us, and the cab company was great as well - very friendly little town. They asked us at check-in about hot breakfast/what time - and Jon was there at 7:30am, as expected, with DELICIOUS breakfast sandwiches, home fries, and fruit. You can't beat that. No room service charge - a super friendly face - and a fantastic breakfast. Sold. They arranged for a cab to come get us, and wagoned our bags up the next morning. You truly feel like family and not a paying guest. The journals full of thank you's from previous visitors also conveyed that it wasn't who you were at all...anyone who comes to Green Turtle is family to Jon and Karen. I've seen some reviews that complain about the noise of the planes...Noticeable, yes, but not a bother. I personally enjoyed watching planes land and take off from that point of view.

Cool Get Away!

4.8 on July 15, 2014

We spent three nights and enjoyed out time thoroughly. We took a local cab back and forth to boston each night, its quick and reasonable (saw Billy Joel and Zac Brown on back to back nights). Karen and Jon are really special people and will do anything it takes to make your stay perfect, we especially liked the homemade breakfast "on the dock". Thanks guys see you in the fall! Unique Destination

4.8 on July 14, 2014

Lovely Boston experience. Hosts are delightful and very helpful. Accommodations are adorable. Just beware that this location is very close to Logan Airport so be prepared for the noise of planes. If not for that, it would be absolute perfection!

Awesome Experience!

4.4 on July 14, 2014

We fully enjoyed our time on the Green Turtle II and will not hesitate to return. We had great weather which I'm sure was a plus but I'm sure even on a rainy day, time spent on the yacht would be fun. Our host and hostess could not have been more welcoming or accommodating! They gave us a thorough walkthrough of the yacht and then reviewed a local area map to ensure we could get around easily. This is an experience everyone should take advantage of at least once! Sitting up on the deck with a bottle of wine and some Honey Jack Daniels was sooooo relaxing. It really was a very pleasant evening, and once we went to bed, we all slept like babies! Our breakfast arrived at our requested time, and was delightful! We also took advantage of visiting the recommended restaurants in the area and had excellent meals at both of them. On the down side, one bedroom is smaller than the other and could be a bit of a nuisance if staying for more than a day or two as there isn't much draw space for articles you can't hang. Other than that - this was an awesome experience.

Our stay....

We had a wonderful time and would recommend to anyone that was looking for a b&b in Boston!

Boston Hidden Gem

4.4 on July 08, 2014

From the gentle sway of the water, to the harbor views and sea air, this unique and charming bed and breakfast was truly delightful. Gracious hosts Jon and Karen were lovely and attentive and very welcoming. Little touches such as snacks and cold drinks in our room upon our arrival made us feel extra special. Morning breakfast was delicious (Jon made sure to inquire about our breakfast likes and even what time we would prefer to eat)! I must also mention the bed, as it was surprisingly cozy and extremely comfortable (would happily take that home with me if I could)! Sadly our stay at the Green Turtle was over too quickly. Had there been an available room we would have stayed an extra day! This gem is must for Boston lovers!

Wonderful Time

5 on July 06, 2014

We had a wonderful stay at the Green Turtle. Karen and Jon a great hosts.the breakfast is delicious, the site is also perfect with view to the skyline of Boston. The Airport is near but it is also near to Boston and is not disturbing. For a City visit, a car is not necessary.(2 stations with the T to the airport and 4-5 in the city). We enjoyed our stay in this wonderful floating boat. As we stayed in Green Turtle 1 we had great sunrise views from the bedside also great sundowners from the deck with view to the skyline of Boston. Thanks Karen and Jon for this outstanding stay and you B&B

A Little Piece of Heaven on Water

5 on June 30, 2014

The Green Turtle is awesome! The rooms are spotless clean and lovely decorated. It feels like home away from home. Karen and Jon are wonderful hosts that make you feel warm and so welcomed.. The breakfast each morning is outstanding! We would rate this B&B A++....+. Thank you Karen and Jon, We'll be back some day.

Perfect spot in Boston

5 on June 28, 2014

We recently stayed for three nights while visiting Boston. The Green Turtle was the perfect place to stay! It's quite close to downtown, but is a relaxing retreat. Jon and Karen anticipated all of our needs, and we felt pampered and welcome throughout our stay. What a gem!

Great place, great owners!

5 on June 28, 2014

A great place to stay on the harbor. Outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown, yet still very close. Karen and Jon are great hosts and I would recommend staying at the Green Turtle.

Absolutely Amazing!!!

5 on June 25, 2014

Jon and Karen are great couldn't have been happier with the stay from homemade breakfast to daily check-ins to see if we needed anything absolutely exceeded our expectations. Recommending to eveyone!

A Bostonian experience from the Seaside

4.2 on June 24, 2014

If you want a unique stay in the Boston area - you cannot look away from a stay at the Green Turtle Floating B&B. A warm welcome, great hosts in Jon and Karen, nice rooms with the opportunity to sit outside and enjoy the evening or the morning sun and a neighborhood wich is really nice. The location is somewhat outside Boston city centre - which in our mind is only a plus! It is easy to get into Boston - either by taxi or by the metro line. The only downside to the stay is the close proximity to the airport, which means that if you do not like the sound of aircrafts taking off or landing - you should not stay here. There is quite a lot of noice when the aircrafts uses the runways close to the Marina. However - all the other elements of the stay makes up for this downsidein our opinion. Last - but not least: Karen and Jon can definitly help out find the small local restaurants which you will not regret trying out :-)

Floating Comfort

4.4 on June 22, 2014

Our hosts Jon & Karen were outstanding and made us feel very comfortable. The room itself was lovely and the bed better than any hotel I have stayed in. The breakfasts were delicious and varied and arrived exactly at the time we requested. Train was easy to catch to anywhere you wanted to go in Boston. Cabs were also very easy and friendly out of Winthrop. If I had a negative, it would be the noise from the airport on the weekdays, but quiet and heard nothing on the weekend. Would recommend as an alternative to the expensive Boston Hotels.

Best Romantic Retreat Ever

5 on June 20, 2014

This unique little bed and breakfast should not be missed. If you are looking for something a little different spend a few nights floating on the water enjoying the sunset with a glass of wine or watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee. We loved our three nights on the Green Turtle. The owners' attention to detail was amazing.

Green Turtle

5 on June 20, 2014

Absolutely amazing location with view over Boston Harbour and Logan airport (don't forget your earplugs!!). A short taxi ride to train station then only 4 stops (10 minutes) into Central Boston. Onto John and Karen - what a lovely couple! And the breakfasts were filling and tasty too! Extremely helpful people. Could not recommend the Green Turtle highly enough Brad & Sophie (UK Honeymooners)

Perfect stay with grandparents and kids

4.8 on June 19, 2014

We loved our stay at the Green Turtle. Convenient access to all the sights of Boston and the airport (depending on the wind, that can mean takeoff noise at times but it is quiet during sleep hours), fantastic breakfast delivered to our boat, and very kind owners. The kids loved lobster fishing off the pier. My parents are not boat people but they also enjoyed the novelty of a boat bed and breakfast. :-) Thank you!

Green Turtle B&B review

4.2 on June 16, 2014

If you're looking for something different for your stay in the Boston Area the Green Turtle B&B is well worth checking out. Our host Jon and Karen were helpful friendly and informative, making our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The two of us had the whole boat (Green Turtle II) to ourselves, which included a kitchen, two cabins, two bathrooms and two seating areas, one inside and one outside. The T station is a short drive down the street and our hosts offered to pay cab fare if we needed it. Its a short ride to downtown Boston.

Great place but very noisy

3.2 on June 14, 2014

John and Karen were fantastic hosts when we had an all but brief stay with them. The houseboat was delightful and they cared for us in every aspect. The location of the Green Turtle led us to leaving three nights earlier (out of four nights booked) as the noise from the airport was deafening and the smell and fumes for the large planes that left Logan Airport at times minutely (until 11.45 pm and beginning at 5.45 am) were the cause of our early departure. One of us became sick with a chest infection and could not rest in this location. The air quality was also concerning to recovery. Karen and John were very understanding and refunded our booking for two nights which was very generous.

Excellent stay on the waterfront!

4.2 on June 13, 2014

Spent two nights in Green Turtle II--very comfortable accommodations and the linens were heavenly. Karen & John have been doing this long enough to know how to be helpful and present without being intrusive. Well stocked kitchen--coffee, tea, juices, water, milk, yogurt, and snacks, in addition to wonderful breakfasts each morning. Jon was excellent about giving suggestions for dining and travelling around to various parts of the city. Be sure to get the new address into your GPS before heading to the Green Turtle!

Going back

5 on June 11, 2014

Celebrated our 40th anniversary on Green Turtle III. Enjoyed every moment! Karen and Jon were fabulous! Breakfast was better than any restaurant. I cannot say enough about this wonderful place.....we came home and made reservations to return that day.....cannot wait to go back.......short drive from Boston to another world.....everything about our stay was tremendous. Thank you to Karen and Jon for just being you..."the icing on the cake!

Excellent, unique experience in Boston

4.6 on June 09, 2014

We made our reservations late for our first visit to Boston. Because one unit was not available for all three nights, we got the privilege of experiencing two different rooms at the Green Turtle. We stayed in GT1 (houseboat) for first night and GT3 (cruiser) on the next two nights. Our luggage was moved by the staff while we were out sight-seeing during the day. Jon and Karen could not have been more gracious hosts. They met us at the dock - acquainted us with the facilities - got our breakfast requirements - and gave us input for how to experience Boston. Delicious breakfasts were delivered to our door each morning at our requested time. Drinks and snacks were in the rooms at no additional charge and welcome after long days seeing the area. We highly recommend the Green Turtle -- and look forward to our next visit...

Lovely houseboat B & B

4.0 on June 02, 2014

The Green Turtle is a lovely houseboat with equally lovely hosts. Jon and Karen could not do enough to make us comfortable and welcome in their B and B. They had the room ready early and met us at the marina when we arrived to help us with our luggage. They were very helpful in recommending places to go for dinner and how to get into Boston city via the subway. The breakfasts were delicious and the snacks and drinks left in the room were a nice touch. If you want a warm welcome and feel as if you are staying with friends then I would recommend the Green Turtle. The airport is close though so if you are a light sleeper then make sure you take your ear plugs.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE

5 on May 31, 2014

I would like to say that mine and my daughter's stay was amazing, The inkeepers Karen and Jon are such wonderful people and made us feel special. The room was spotless, the service was extraordinary and the cleanlines was emaculate. We were met at the parking lot and Jon brought our things to the cabin. The cabin is stocked with snacks, coffee, tea, cereal, yogurts, milk and juices. The bathroom had all the necessities. The bed was super soft and comfortable. We truly enjoyed ourr stay and look forward to coming back.

Outstanding B&B

5 on May 29, 2014

The green turtle was amazing. We stayed on the green turtle 3 which was our own personal yacht. We were doing a getaway to Boston and this was absolutely the best decision we made. It was so much better than staying in a hotel. Karen and John were amazing hosts and always were able to give us tidbits for around the city. The subway to Boston was only a 2 minute drive and about a 10 minute walk which was nice. Breakfast was delicious! I would recommend anyone going to Boston, look at the Green Turtle first. You won't be disappointed!

awesome week

5 on May 28, 2014

we stayed week with Karen and Jon...had a wonderful, wonderful time....after the frenzy of the city, it was wonderful to have a tranquil space to relax...Karen and Jon are sweet people....it was like having breakfast in bed...a hot breakfast arrived every morning....I'd go back in a minute!

College Graduation Weekend

3.8 on May 22, 2014

Spent 2 nights on the Green Turtle II for BC graduation weekend. Our hosts, Jon and Karen, were phenomenal. The boat was well equipped with comfortable bedding and linens. The galley was stocked with many snacks and items when we first arrived. Dining recomendations were spot on, and we loved Belle Isle seafood. The sunsets of the Harbor were spectacular, we hope to come visit again!

Unique experience

4.0 on May 20, 2014

Extremely comfy beds. Friendly and very accomodating hosts. Great way to spend special occasions.

Perfect weekend getaway!

5 on May 16, 2014

This was the perfect weekend getaway. Karen and Jon were welcoming and friendly without being intrusive. Their dining recommendations were perfect, and they arranged reservations for us. The Green Turtle is a unique and special place- we loved it and will be returning.

Staying on the watar in Boston

5 on May 13, 2014

Booked the Green Turtle 1 year ago. Karen & Jon Help you with everything. The tell you places to eat at and help with your site-seeing and transportation. When you are there you feel like a child again, because they are like Mom & Dad.....and make sure you are always having FUN! Each morning they make the BEST breakfast,. Their pancakes are great, but the eggs-benedict are to die for. If you go to the Green Turtle, you will be going back AGAIN....count on it. Stephen, Greenfield, Indiana

Graduation weekend

5 on May 12, 2014

We spent 3 nights here, as we visited Boston to attend our daughter's graduation from Emerson College. Jon and Karen are wonderful hosts, think of everything. I wish there was a higher rating than 5 stars, because they deserve it. Their new address is a little closer to the airport and a little further from downtown Boston, but not enough really to be an issue. The breakfasts were superb, the refrigerator is stocked with snacks, the bed was so comfortable that on the first morning, after breakfast we just went back to be and slept another 2 hours. I'm a piano tuner, therefor sensitive to noise, and I worried that being so close to the airport would be an issue. But usually we didn't get back until late and by that time the air traffic tapers off. The comfort of the bed and the gentle rocking of the boat put us right to sleep. A beautiful view of Boston across the water and the charm of the marina, especially at night, made an idyllic retreat.

Love it

5 on April 30, 2014

The stay on the Green Turtle was the best place I have ever stayed everything has beet thought of from breakfast to a great night sleep Karen and John are great hosts I well stay with them anytime im in Boston Thanks Joe

Marathon Weekend

5 on April 25, 2014

It's exactly what we needed. I was in town for my very first Boston Marathon, so I was already a bit on edge. Karen and John made everything seem simple and easy from nutritous breakfasts to a ride to the T when we were in a pinch, to advice on where to run in their neighborhood. John took us to the busses that were to take us to Hopkinton's start line! Thank you!! We'll be back.

Treated Like Royalty

5 on December 15, 2013

Karen and Jon treated us like royalty. They greeted us at the parking lot, transferred our luggage onto the boat and gave us thorough instructions about living on the boat. They provided extensive information about the surrounding area and transportation into the city. The refrigerator was stocked with water, juices and half and half for morning coffee. The snack basket had a perfect combination of snack foods. Best of all the breakfasts were delicious and delivered to the door of the boat at the time requested. We have never felt so cared for or cared about by any other bed and breakfast hosts. Most important of all, the boat was immaculately clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. We will return, and we are telling all our friends to stay at the Green Turtle Floating Bed and Breakfast when in Boston.

Great Floating Stay !!!

5 on December 01, 2013

We stayed in the Green Turtle I at the end of October, already on the new location, and we had a great time! On our last day was quite windy and it gets a bit bouncy inside because of the swell, but that's what you'd expect from a Floating B&B, it just adds to the fun !! Breakfast is great. Thank you for everything

2nd Time Around

5 on November 24, 2013

We were more than delighted to stay at Green Turtle's new location. The air traffic added a new demension to our stay. There's nothing like sitting on the dock with some wine and watching the sun set over Boston. The breakfasts were taylored to our tastes and delivered promptly. Can't wait to return again. Karen & John are the perfect hosts, super friendly & great conversationalists. .

The day the dock broke

4.6 on November 22, 2013

We had originally planned to stay two nights but had to evacuate because the dock where the boat was tied had broken. Hence, we had to evacuate in a hurry; however, persons were able to re-enter the boat for us and retrieve our belongings. This was unfortunate because--out of a two-week stay on the east coast that included Maine, Vermont and upstate New York--this was the best night of our trip. The host and hostess were very friendly, very accommodating and genuinely interested in our having a successful stay. It did not turn out that way, due solely to weather factors beyond their control. I would recommend this experience--minus, of course, the weather and dock breaking that abruptly ended our stay--without hesitation. Very nice and friendly people, probably the friendliest we encountered on our east coast visit.

Spectacular Bed and Breakfast

5 on November 07, 2013

Jon and Karen are absolutely the most helpful and gracious hosts. The Loggerhead Suite was wonderful. Spotless and had everything you needed for a very pleasant and relaxing stay. My cousin and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay and cannot wait to visit again. The breakfasts that were hand delivered were delicious. Airport nearby but not an issue and the new location was beautiful Sunsets were exquisite. Thank you Jon and Karen. Elaine and Arlene

Awesome place to stay close to Boston!

4.6 on October 31, 2013

A spectacular place to stay close to Boston center (15-20 min with a cab), a nice marina with an amazing view towards Logan airport and the the city of Boston. The ship (GreenTurttle II) is quite big and offers enough space to at least 4 persons, with quite high commodity. Karen and Jon are amazing hosts, they made our stay very pleasant. Always there when we had some questions or we needed to have things (like taxi transfer) organized. The airport is close, but there is little noise during the night though. Plus it is unique opportunity for anyone that wants to enjoy a view on a busy international airport activity, while drinking wine and chilling on the upper deck or bridge. I would definitely come back to the GreenTurttle. Thank you Karen and Jon!

Great people, Great experience

4.6 on October 25, 2013

We stayed there for a few nights and we had a great time. Breakfast was delicious. Karen and Jon are friendly and very helpful. They gave us some great ideas of what to do in Boston and in the area and helped us get around. It was great to sleep on the boat; it was like being rocked to sleep like a baby. I would recommend to do this over a hotel. At this location you also see the planes land and take off from the airport and that was really cool.

Original and luxury lodging in Boston harbour

4.2 on October 20, 2013

We stayed three nights on this amazing yacht, all for ourselves. A different breakfast was delivered every morning. Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming.

Greatest Stay in Boston

5 on October 17, 2013

We had wonderful time there, Karen and Jon gave us totally unexpected great service, we love the boat so much, and the breakfast, and a lot of things, their yacht is so special for our trip, thank u so much, hope to come back again! Ur friend fr. Beijing,China

Green Turtle Flosting B & B Boston, MA

4.8 on October 14, 2013

We spent 2 nights aboard the Green Turtle. The ship was clean and nicely appointed. Nice tempera-pedic mattresses, linens, towels. The fridge was stocked with yogurt and juices. Boat had WIFI and HD TV. There were too many nice touches to mention; however, the BEST thing were our "Boat Keepers", Jon and Karen. Their caring and excellence of service met our every need and more. THEY made our stay memorable.

Amazing Stay!!! Love the Boat!!!!

5 on October 09, 2013

The Green Turtle B&B is a remarkable experience in Boston and the only problem was that we only had one night there! John and Karen are so helpful, informative and personable, as well as excellent breakfast chefs! We arrived in the marina parking lot and within 5 minutes were on board the the Green Turtle II with an excellent dinner recommendation for Asian food, transportation to TD Garden and directions for staying on the boat. The rest of the trip felt like we were at home on our very own yacht. I never want to stay in a hotel again!

Floating bed and breakfast

5 on October 09, 2013

My husband and I stayed at the Green Turtle Inn floating bed and breakfast newly relocated in Winthrop Ma. The room was beautiful and very cozy. Breakfast was provided the food was great and very large portions. We explored the area during the day. We walked all around Deer Island which was a nice walk and very pretty this time of year. We came back relaxed on the dock and watched the sunset over Boston, then at nite we went in town for some nite life. Transportation was provided which made it stress free. The owners Karen and Jon are the nicest people they really have thought of everything to make your stay carefree. I would highly recommend you check it out!!

Above and beyond:)

5 on October 07, 2013

Unique and relaxing vacation. Karen and John provided truly superior service. Breakfast was incredible. Would love to return there some day.

What a Great Surprise!

5 on September 30, 2013

We booked this on a complete "whim" and were so happy that we did! Karen and Jon were the most wonderful host and hostess. Every detail was thought through and the accommodations were way above what we had expected. But best of all, was the Location!! It was easy to find and we were right on the end of the pier, so we could look out at Everything! And the walk back into the North End was so easy! Thank you so much to Karen and Jon for a wonderful Weekend!! Sabrina and Jane

One of the Top Ten Days of My Life

4.6 on September 23, 2013

If you have never had the opportunity to stay on a beautiful boat put it on your bucket list. I surprised my husband for your 10th anniversary and it couldn't have been a better time. We loved the view of Boston and seeing the planes land at Logan was a total bonus. I have a whole new appreciation for Winthrop, Ma and being a sea mate. The hosts Karen & Jon couldn't have been sweeter. Some people really find their calling in life. I will definitely be back. Thank You so much!

September 2 Day Stay - Great Accomodations

4.2 on September 20, 2013

My husband and I are from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and we stayed for 2 nights. Karen and Jon are wonderful people and great hosts. The house boat was perfect. Bed was very comfortable.Breakfasts were pancakes, sausages and some fresh cut fruit one day and the next was sausages and an egg breakfast muffin. Yummy! There was a mini-fridge with half and half cream, some juices and water. Ingredients to make coffee and tea were supplied. The bus is about a block away and takes you to the train station so you can go to Boston and everywhere else. The only caution is that it is across the bay from the airport so when the wind is in your direction they will fly over the house boat. The airport is open from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm so the noise is limited while you sleep.

Green Turtle Boat House

5 on September 17, 2013

When you book accommodation for your long awaited holiday in a far away country over the internet your never quite know what your going to get. But WOW how we struck gold here. Arriving in a water taxi from the airport ( highly recommended ) right to the decking of the boat house we knew we had made the right choice. Karen and Jon greeted us with open arms and beaming smiles. There introduction to the surrounding area and Boston was very informative and a great way to ask any queries you might. The breakfasts were superb and brought to you on the second you requested with a great deal of warmness from Jon. The accommodation was first class with everything you needed for your stay. The setting was brilliant, not to far away from Boston and there were a different variety of ways you can take to get to the city. We walked a couple of times which took a leisurely 40 minutes or so. There was also a bus or a ferry that were close by to catch. A taxi cost no more than 10 dollars. We had our breakfast on the decking while watching the hustle and bustle of Boston life float past, AMAZING. After a hard day exploring the city there was nothing better than having a nightcap on the decking getting gently rocked back and forth by the ripples in the water and having the Boston city lights as your backdrop, TOTALLY MAGICAL. If you are going to Boston you would be daft not to try this place. Rosaline and Steve Dundee, Scotland

Great Stay in Boston

The Green Turtle 2 is just great. Amazing hosts who supplied fabulous varied breakfast in the morning. A wonderful relaxing 3 day break. Thank you John & Karen. S & P from Scotland

Deserves to be Number One

4.6 on September 15, 2013

The Green Turtle is located only 7 miles from where we live but it felt like we were in another part of the world. The accommodations were very nice, the food great, the innkeepers wonderful. it was both peaceful and exciting. We will definitely do it again.

Second time staying at the Green Turtle and it was great! Jon and Karen are great hosts and I rate my stay as outstanding! It could not have been better.

sleeping afloat

5 on September 12, 2013

From the moment you step onto the dock from the water taxi or from the parking spot (worth a fortune in Boston) this is a magical b&b. The innkeepers are immediately friendly and hospitable, almost as if you are family they have not seen for a while, they explain all aspects of life aboard and are available just across the dock if you need them at any time. The beds in the two bedrooms are very comfortable and made up with good linens. The boat provides space to sit and relax whether around the dining table (tight spot to get into but plenty of space) sitting in the salon or sitting on the back deck on the wicker furniture or above on the top deck. Breakfast, we ate in the sun every morning on the back deck. It was cooked on the innkeepers yacht then walked over. The fridge in the tiny kitchen is stocked with snacks, yoghurts, juices as well as a coffee maker. The kitchen area also has a fridge that is very roomy, and the back deck had an ice maker. There are restaurants in the area that will deliver and indeed we ordered sushi one night. A 10-15 min walk to the harbor ferry took you in to the North End for $3 but it stopped running at 8pm at the weekend. It is close enough to take the T to the TD center and walk back via the Navy Yard to the boat though. With the Green Turtle II though, the third queen bed is the pull out sofa in the salon therefore whoever sleeps in this bed will need to enter either of the two bedrooms for a bathroom and the bed is not of the same comfy quality as the main beds. There are many small steep steps onto and in the yacht however so care must be taken moving around. The bathrooms are very tiny and the master shower requires some agility to get into and out of. However the experience is charming, unusual, comfy and the view from the boat onto the harbor is exceptional. Well worth the price to have this experience. My initial reaction on seeing the yacht was 'fabulous'.

Peaceful , different kind of stay

5 on September 09, 2013

We stayed at the Green Turtle at the end if August and it was one if the nicest places we have stayed in. The hosts could not be more pleasant and accomodating. The boats are a real treat! Everything you need for a pleasant stay and convenient to the city and activities. We will stay there again and I can't wait!!

Boston 2013

5 on September 08, 2013

Everything was outstanding. I would recommend this to friends & hope to return again.

Loved it :)

5 on September 08, 2013

We had a Great Stay on the Green Turtle II. Jon & Karen were Great Hosts. They were most helpful on travel tips of how to navigate the city for us first time Boston tourists. Loved the breakfast all ready for us when we awoke. Got to get Karen's Light & Fluffy pancake recipe :) We all had the best sleep of our trip being gently rocked to sleep on the soft comfy mattresses. Thanks for making us feel comfortable Jon & Karen! Becky, Orlando,Fl

Outstanding

5 on September 07, 2013

Easy to get to. Great dining and activities nearby and only a $3 15 minute ferry ride into Boston. Very comfortable, wonderful breakfast and amenities. Sitting on the dock looking at the Boston skyline, just heavenly!

Perfect place for a boating vacation!

5 on September 02, 2013

We had an absolute blast during our first stay at the Green Turtle! We arrived by boat from Marblehead, docked right next to the Green Turtle and used the Green Turtle as a base while boating the harbor and islands, visiting Scituate and heading up the Charles/Mystic rivers. It was wonderful to come back from a long day on the boat and just relax watching the Boston skyline lit up at night. We were amazed how quiet it was in the marina after sunset - we expected to hear traffic and the bustle of the city but outside of muted jets taking off from Logan it was quiet enough that we whispered for fear of bothering our neighbors. Karen and Jon were most accomadating, not only in setting up our reservation (incuding docking our boat and juggling other options), but also in providing tips on places to visit, where to eat, how to get around in Charlestown and to Boston by land, and just great people! Breakfast was both scrumptious and plentififul, and delivered right on time. We're planning to come back next year for another stay to visit more of the area by boat, and also to just chill-ax...

Best B&B stay ever!!!

5 on September 01, 2013

Wonderful accomadations. Great Food. Nicest Owners. Karen and Jon make your stay memorable. We will be back - if we can ever get another reservation. They are fully booked and there are a number of valid resons why. There are no words to describe our weeks stay other than we would do it again and again.

Family and friends weekend lots of love and laughter on board

4.6 on August 29, 2013

What a great way and place to gather with friends and family. The turtle II is set up so that 6 people can enjoy a weekend stay and never have a dull moment, unless you choose to. Take your own boat as your vehicle of choice and explore Boston by sea. Truly amazing!

Great place, great boat and perfect hosts

Really unique experience with every penny

2nd Time

5 on August 25, 2013

This was our second time aboard the Green Turtle and it only gets better. Can hardly wait to stay again. Breakfast was superb, boat was clean and the views are breathtaking! This is a must stay!

Total relaxation with a stunning waterfront view

4.8 on August 23, 2013

A wonderful experience. The innkeepers are fantastic and extremely helpful. The view overlooking the harbor is amazing. It was so relaxing sitting on the lounge chairs on the dock, drinking coffee and watching the boats go by. It is close enough to downtown Boston to get there quickly by ferry, bus or even cab (ferry is the coolest by far though). We took the ferry right to the Aquarium. It was so awesome. The room was clean and it had a small kitchen with a microwave, sink, refrigerator and coffee maker. The innkeepers provided juice, water and snacks. There were real glasses and silverware (and a corkscrew for your bottle of wine when you sit out on the deck). Parking and breakfast come with your room fee. We would totally recommend this B&B to anyone who wants a relaxing, unique and totally cool experience on the water.

Could not have been better!

5 on August 23, 2013

We stayed in Green Turtle I, it could not have been better. Jon and Karen are awesome. Our stay was so pleasant. The room was clean, cute, and breakfast was great. Such an interesting place to be, seeing all the boats and ships go by, along with a beautiful look at the city skyline. Just wish we could have stayed another day, just to enjoy and relax, but work calls.

Only place to stay in Boston

5 on August 22, 2013

My husband and I spent our 25th anniversary at the Green Turtle. We watched the skyline of Boston light up as the sun set and and took the ferry across the harbor to have dinner The boat was beautifully decorated and so comfortable. In the morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast served on the boat while we watched the harbor traffic sail by. Heaven! Warning: one night is not enough.

Wonderful stay

We will happily recommend The Green Turtle! Private yet central, comfortable yet "outside the box". Thank you for your attention and welcome!

4.0 on August 20, 2013

wonderful inn keepers and a unique setting.

Unique and friendly - loved our stay

4.4 on August 15, 2013

The Green Turtle I provides everything it promises! Luxury-hotel quality bed and bedding, and every little convenience you might not even know you need. Owners transport your belongings from parking, to and into boat. Owners are wonderful and friendly, live on boat "next door". Shower is fantastic, The "head" is the only clue (besides the gentle rolling of the waves) you are on a boat. Breakfast was great. Plus, the uniqueness of sleeping on the water was such a fun thing. We totally loved our stay. There were a couple of small surprises, they did not affect our impression of the boat but others might want to know about them. First, you need to take a large step off the dock through the front door of the houseboat, into the hallway, and there is no rail or walkway. This might be difficult for some people, its not a huge (nor tiny) distance, but it can be tricky, especially with items in your hands. They are also not at the exact same level, so you are stepping up going in, stepping down coming out. It was not a problem for us but I was surprised it was not mentioned in the listing. Second, I was also surprised because I thought it would be more private. The houseboat is not only a duplex - so you have close "neighbors" - but the small strips of dock between all the boats and the walkway, are used kind of communally, so there are often a few people walking around and talking and you are VERY close to the other boats. There are deck chairs provided (pictured on the listing), to sit in and one morning we actually got to sit there and have our breakfast, but the other times we intended to go sit outside, the chairs were already taken. What looked like a "deck" to me in the pictures, is actually pretty small strips of dock. The pictures are artfully done and do not really show how little space there is outside of the boat. It is close quarters. This said, we were very happy with our stay, it was unique and fun and the room and owners were just fantastic.

Awesome getaway

5 on August 13, 2013

Everything from start to finish was perfect, from the boat to the hosts!

The Best Surprise present ever!

5 on August 08, 2013

Wanting to do something different for my wife, I surprised her with a stay on at the Green Turtle Bed and Breakfast for her birthday. What can I say, it was amazing. It was as if we were in our own little world, right in the heart of the Boston area. With just a few minutes walk to the USS Constitution, a five minute drive to the North End of Boston, we were able to unwind sitting on the dock enjoy all the boat traffic in the Boston Harbor. We had wonderful host's, spacious accommodations, and some of the best views of the city on obtained by being on the water. Seeing the ocean always seems to release all the stress out of my life, I have all ready recommended the Green Turtle BB to all of my friends hoping they get away from their own reality, and spend at least one night on the water at the Green Turtle BB. We loved it so much, we are all ready planning our next trip to the Green Turtle BB. Thomas Garceau

It doesn't get any better than this!

5 on August 08, 2013

If you want to be close to everything while enjoying a peaceful, tranquil, relaxing, absolutely heavenly place to stay, this is IT! We took a water taxi from the airport - fun and FAST! Karen and Jon welcomed us on the dock like old friends. Our room was comfortable and filled with treats, a complimentary goodie basket, Karen's homemade granola, yogurt, freshly ground coffee! The highlight of our whole trip was watching the moon come up over the Boston skyline from our lawn chairs on the gently rocking dock, while enjoying a glass of wine. The comfortable bed and wonderful home-cooked breakfast the next day completed A Perfect Stay!

Another year of bliss and tranquility

Go Ahead and Just Book It!

5 on August 05, 2013

After looking and looking and looking we found this place. First time staying in a B&B and I won't be able to stay in a hotel again. Food is great, location is amazing, and Karen and Jon are just amazing. Honestly the best vacation I have ever had and it’s because of those two. They would ask us what we played to do and then make up a set of directions for us! So wonderful, and made the trip easy. Because of the location to the T (subway, bus, and ferry system) we got to see the whole city in just 5 days. Do yourself a favor and stay here! Thank you again Jon and Karen From Chris & Amy

the most wonderful weekend!

4.6 on August 01, 2013

I am late in writing this review, but wanted to share that the weekend on the Floating Turtle was so relaxing, so quiet, and just what I needed! Karen and Jon were like old friends, and lovely hosts, we really couldn't ask for anything more. All I am trying to do now is to see when I can go back, and what friends I can bring with me!

Fun, novel stay in great location

4.4 on July 30, 2013

We stayed for three days here this summer and enjoyed it immensely. John and Karen were fantastic hosts and had a wealth of information about touring Boston and the best ways to get around. We loved the yacht. It was cosy and had all the comforts of a large RV. Having drinks on the deck was a real highlight and bobbing to sleep on the waves each night was very relaxing. The Green Turtle was easy to find on the marina and the hosts were always around and eager to help.

Fantastic stay

Best B&B ever!!!

5 on July 16, 2013

The location is perfect. Its a ten minute walk to the water shuttle that drops you off at the Boston Aquarium on the Boston waterfront. The Greet Turtle is in a pleasant, quiet neighborhood, The rooms are facing the Mystic River as it empties into Boston Harbor. Its great to watch the cruise boats and large ships sail by yards from the outer wharf. The accommodations are comfortable and extremely clean. Jon and Karen are super nice and very friendly people. Karen is a great cook! Expect some incredible breakfasts. You must experience this place!

A wonderful and unique experience

5 on July 15, 2013

The hosts, Jon and Karen, were so gracious and welcoming, providing a selection of snacks and reading material, and readily available with advice and directions for local sites to see. The yacht was beautiful, and it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience to spend the night on a floating bed and breakfast. I highly recommend it!

Unique Relaxation

3.8 on July 13, 2013

The Green Turtle was a welcome relaxation at the end of our vacation. Jon and Karen were great hosts. Snacks in the room were a nice surprise and as others have said, the bed is amazing! We were lucky to have great views of a firework display on our last night. The gentle rocking is a wonderful sensensation as well as the occasional quack of the nearby ducks! Location is great with a choice of links to downtown Boston and the airport. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend to friends.

Green Turtle is superb!

5 on July 09, 2013

Great concept, no better way to enjoy Boston! Karen and Jon are excellent inn keepers and hosts. It is obvious that they take great pride in what they do.

Love this place and our hosts

4.6 on July 08, 2013

We love staying at the Green Turtle Inn. Our host are the best and make you feel like one of their good friends. Great views of the Harbor and watching the ocean going vessels, working boats and private yachts pass right by your room is a treat. The ocean breeze keeps you cool even on those hot Boston days when the rest of the city is over cooking. Easy walk to the boat shuttle to downtown there are water taxis to pick you if you don't want to move to far. Ted and Nan Sheehan

Simply Fabulous!

5 on July 07, 2013

Recently stayed here and already trying to plan when to go back. Jon and Karen were great... so welcoming and informative! They made sure that you felt comfortable and at home!! The room was so clean and the bed was soooo comfortable!!! The refrigerator was stocked with drinks and yogurt and there was coffee and tea. I fully recommended that people should definitely stay here so worth it!! Did I mentioned that we stayed on a houseboat with great views!! Sooo Cool! My daughter and I will definitely be back!!

An Urban Oasis!

5 on July 04, 2013

Spent four nights recently on the Green Turtle 2 with our two kids.Unfortunately it wasn't long enough! John and Karen are beyond lovely, the breakfasts divine, the location easily accessible with stunning views and the boat beautiful! If you can't decide between a cottage or city getaway you don't have to...the Green Turtle is both! Our 5 year old fed the ducklings that were born in the houseboat flower box while we sipped wine on the aft deck. If this isn't perfect then I don't know what is.

Great B&B

4.4 on July 02, 2013

My husband and I visited Boston for a few nights and decided to try this B&B based on reviews. The experience was just as great as the reviews. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to return in the future. The owners were so accommodating and showed us nothing but true hospitality.

Wonderful visit! Great time! Great view! Great people!

5 on June 28, 2013

Sunset over the harbor as city lights come on, gracious hosts to help us find our way to the water ferry (to the Aquarium) and free shuttle (to and from North Station) and a terrific neighborhood bistro, yummy breakfast, deck chairs to sit on morning and evening to watch life on the harbor. No wonder the Green Turtle is ranked #1 B & B in Boston!

Excellent

5 on June 28, 2013

Friendly, Friendly owners! What nice people and breakfast was amazing. The inn keepers accomodated a gluten free diet and everything was delicious! We would definitely recommend staying here. The view of the hardor and the sunrise was just gorgeous!

Everything about our stay was wonderful. The owners were so helpful even suggesting a great place to eat dinner which we really enjoyed. I hope we get to go back again in the future.

Treat yourself

5 on June 14, 2013

Treat yourself to the most relaxing spot in Boston! Karen and Jon have created a floating paradise at the end of the 8 pier w/luxurious interiors, comfort and the BEST dang breaskfast you will experience at your appt. time on the dot! Absolutely loved this spot! It is worth you time and $ to be floating, fishing, drinking, eating, snapping pics of the HUGE ships gliding right past you and never making a wake! It is truely the best and most relaxing time ever. Karen and Jon make sure you want for nothing! A taxi will pick you up at the pier, better yet take the $3 ferry, and tour Boston on the back of a bike 'rickshaw'. THAT IS THE WAY to see Boston, do not try to drive. Food was fabulous anywhere. Do not miss this treat! We truely hope to be back.

Green Turtle Flating Bed and Breakfast Equals Paradise

5 on June 08, 2013

If you are looking for Paradise in Boston, you can find it at the Floating Green Turtle Bed and Breakfast. Spotlessly clean accommodations are either a houseboat or yacht. Both are tastefully decorated and include fine linens and plush towels. The innkeepers, Karen and Jon, have worked hard to create an atmosphere of total relaxation with their attention to detail. There is a microwave, dishes, flatware, and glasses, granola, coffee, tea, and a basket of snacks. The refrigerator is stocked with water, juices, milk, and yogurt. Karen and Jon are upbeat, friendly, and readily available to answer any questions or requests. They provide invaluable information on how to get around Boston, info on attractions, restaurants, etc. Parking and WIFI are free. Karen is an amazing cook and provides a delicious hot breakfast every morning which is delivered by Jon at the exact minute of a prearranged time. The pier is safe and quiet. One evening we sat on the yacht eating take out seafood and watching a sailboat race. If you are staying in Boston or just passing through, do yourself a favor and give Karen and Jon a call.

Great hotel alternative

4.2 on June 06, 2013

You must try this out. Our best stay in Boston. Jon and Karen are perfect hosts. Everyday breakfast on the boat deck. Sleeping was great. Easy to access all parts of Boston. Well worth the money

My favorite place!

5 on May 29, 2013

A beautiful, peaceful, lovely place to stay. Great hosts, with yummy breakfast and beautiful views!

On the water, far from the madding crowd.

5 on May 28, 2013

For commencement wkend 2013 in Bos we'd reserved a B&B near campus; however, a lost reservation turned our sights to find this gem in Charlestown's Navy Yard. Communication with Karen and Jon made our trip seamless. Arrival at Logan was followed by a short water taxi ride [during rush hour] minutes 2 the pier and just steps 2 the Green Turtle II we called home the next 4 days. Views great on the water and a welcome stretch after cramped quarters of aircraft. 3-5 adults in our party depending on guests flying in & out; space was comfortable & well appointed. Karen's breakfasts got us to great starts with special reqs no problem. Pancakes, eggs benedict, breakfast sandwiches. Fridge stocked with juices & bottled water & a snack basket for nibblers. Back from our treks around Boston we find our boat spruced up & ready. A queen bed in each stateroom & living room sofa pops out to a queen bed; all very comfortable. Plenty of seating about the boat atop in the eisenglass enclosed upper deck & aft on cushioned wicker sofas on which 2 read paperbacks in the bkshelves on board, catch up on emails w free wifi, or 2 watch tugs shepherding enormous freighters up the Mystic R. Or you can sit below & watch TV or DVD. Getting around, it's 7-10 minute walk to bus shuttle stations whicht get you to North Station next to TD Garden. From there, Boston's your oyster; we got week T passes that let us take the water transport from the Yard to Long Wharf pier a few blocks to Quincy Market. That ferry's dock is 10-15 min walk from boat [we're in our late 50s,]. Jon has schedules & up2date info in notebook on deck. Sleeping on a houseboat comfortable, though I did find myself still bobbing a bit the first day back in Texas after getting home. Bathrooms/showers a cinch. Don't worry. With efficient space, reliable plumbing, instant hot water, soaps, shampoos, and linens you just have to show up. Come ready 2 have a great time. We'll be back. Rich & Alice Gong San Antonio

The Only Place to Stay in Boston!

5 on May 28, 2013

If you are looking for atmosphere, hospitality, the unique adventure of staying on boat in the harbor and a great time....you are looking to stay at the Green Turtle! A first class fun experience hosted by two of the friendliest and most attentive hosts that also serve up the best breakfast anywhere.

You'll feel like a rock sta

5 on May 28, 2013

What could be better than staying on your own private yacht? The Green Turtle II was wonderful! Karen and Jon greeted us at the pier and brought us to our boat. She had two berths, a galley kitchen and dining area, a sitting area with a flat screen TV and faux fireplace, an outdoor deck with wicker furniture and another sitting area up on the bridge. The whole thing was gorgeous. Breakfast was absolutely yummy! I am not sure how Karen could could such elegant and great food in her sailboat, but she did. Unfortunately, the weather was terrible when we stayed so we couldn't sit topside and the rain was noisy at night. Not the fault of our inn keepers. Next time we are in Boston I will definitely stay with them.

Treat yourself!

First time in Boston, Karen and Jon were wonderful attentive hosts and their accommodations were exceptional. What a treat!!

A great place to stay and see boston!

4.2 on May 24, 2013

Relaxing on the waterfront

4.4 on May 21, 2013

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our say. John and Karen were extremely helpful; they explained all our travel options and places to visit throughout the city. Every hing we could need was right at our fingertips. The bed was so clumpy I did want to leave. It was wonderful falling asleep, the water gently swayed us like a baby being lulled to sleep. My only disappointment was breakfast; it tasted amazing and they even take request, you just only get one plate of food. I would have appreciated a plate for each of us. For those of us with a passion and hefty appetite there just wasn't enough food.

Highlight of our Boston Trip

4.2 on May 19, 2013

We went to Boston for our daughters graduation and decided to try a bed and breakfast to have a more unique experience in Boston and found this floating yacht that had 2 bedrooms which was perfect for us, right out on the harbor with a great view of the city and close enough to walk to a shuttle and the T. It was so much fun to stay here. The 43 foot yacht was beautiful, my husband who was reluctant at first ended up loving it even more than me. A little bit pricier but definitely worth the experience. The beds were extremely comfortable with great linens on them and the hosts Karen and Jon were very nice and helpful and had snacks and water for us and were great about providing us vegetarian options for breakfast. It was very comfortable and quiet and just so relaxing to sit out on the back porch and smell the fresh ocean air. There were 2 showers, a little small but nice and they even provided the shampoo and conditioner. The beds were made everyday and everything cleaned. Definitely worth the extra money , we loved it and would come back again. t was definitely the highlight of our trip to Boston.

Wonderful Experience!

5 on May 17, 2013

I booked a room to surprise my boyfriend for his birthday on the Green Turtle 1 which is more of a floating house than a yacht like the Green Turtle 2 and 3 and we loved it! The room was clean and very nice. the innkeepers we very friendly and upon checkout offered us a tour of their other two spaces since they were unoccupied. From the docks we had a wonderful view of the North End of Boston. Breakfast was delicious too!

Our Birthday Weekend

5 on May 16, 2013

Do yourself a favour

A nautical world of passing boats and tugs, of a gently bobbing houseboat, a world away but 15 mins from Boston harborside- this is Karen & Jon's world, do yourself a favour and share a few days with them, you could do a lot, lot worse.

Really enjoyed our stay. Jon and Karen were exceptional hosts!

Lovely Innkeepers. Unique location.

4.0 on April 29, 2013

Jon and Karen were so welcoming and had many tips about the area, restaurants, and transportation. The houseboat was unusual, very well kept, and the welcome basket of goodies was delightful! However, I'm not sure the value was there as the dock is old with lots of obstacles (hoses, tools, etc) along the walkway. We were unable to sleep in because whenever someone was in the hallway, the sound carried through the thin door. (They also need some "Do Not Disturb" signs.) Overall, we were glad we stayed at the Green Turtle, but probably won't return.

Outstanding!

5 on April 21, 2013

Our stay at the Green Turtle Floating Bed and Breakfast was very enjoyable and we are looking forward to returning in the future. The breakfasts were delicious and Karen and Jon were hospitable and amicable. They were more than accommodating gracious.

Loved it!

5 on April 15, 2013

I stayed there with my new husband for three nights after our wedding- two nights on the Green Turtle and one night on the GT2. Jon and Karen were immediately welcoming and informative with orienting us to the town and vessel. They had great recommendations for dinner spots. We're planning on returning with our kids, 9 and 6, to stay on the GT2- looking forward to fishing off the pier and trying our hand at pulling in lobster pots!

Best in Boston

5 on March 27, 2013

This has to one of the top places to stay in Boston. I loved every aspect of it. The location is convenient and it is easy to get around Boston by public transport from the Green Turtle, yet it felt like coming home to a peaceful sanctuary after a busy day. The outlook across the harbour is both peaceful and uplifting. One day there was even a seal in the water outside my window, most days ducks paddled past and I could watch the ships and boats across the harbour. I stayed indoors for most of one stormy day and felt so cosy and just enjoyed the ambience and view and the beautifully appointed room. Karen and Jon made me feel so welcome and provided a lovely, friendly, unobtrusive service and even lent me coats when I arrived unprepared for the cool weather. They had information about getting around ready and information on sites to see, places to eat which was particularly helpful. The breakfasts were delicious and the coffee is really good. As someone who likes an early morning coffee I really appreciated the coffee machine and coffee provided in the room. The location is close to public transport and it is easy to get around and the area feels safe to walk around even in the evening which is important to me as a single female. Catching a water taxi to and from the airport was easy, fun and probably the quickest way to travel. I stayed a week and wished I had longer; the whole experience was completely positive. I highly recommend a stay at the Green Turtle if you are in Boston.

Quite the Harbor of Refuge during yet another, Nor'easter...

5 on March 26, 2013

This was intended to be a quiet get-a-way from the kids and it was that, and much more. After much shoveling, we arrived as the latest Nor'ester was just starting to wind down. The wind was still howling, and actually made for some amazingly beautiful sights in the Harbor. The stark winter tranquility was actually very beautiful from inside our toasty warm suite. (We actually had to turn the heat down!) Both Karen and Jon are charming, engaging, knowledgeable hosts, who provided great tips for both land and sea. As we leaved just 12 miles north, we thought we knew all the local spots, but their suggestion of the Navy Yard Bistro was just fantastic. And even provided an alternate walking route that blocked the wind. The suite was well-equipped with the essential barware and dinnerware, but surprisingly with some yummy snacks, water, hummus and chips, yougurt, etc. I should also mention the WiFi was easy and fast to connect to. The bathroom was surprisingly large for a boat, well provisioned, spotlessly clean and provided plenty of storage for all things. The breakfast was served precisely when you requested and was a real treat...nothing precooked about this...and the abundance of fresh fruit, YUM! We toured the Turtle II and III the next day and boy, as nice as the Turtle I was, I would very strongly recommend checking out these other two options if you were traveling with another couple or with family. You are onboard a boat, so there is a bit of nimbleness required. It has two staterooms with en suite bathrooms, one forward and one aft and they are nearly equal in size, which was by design, another detail Jon and Karen paid attention to. All in all, if we enjoyed this during 30+ mph winds and blustering snow, we cannot wait to try it in warmer weather!

Great Anniversary Getaway

5 on March 24, 2013

This was our first time to Boston, and we wanted a special place to celebrate our anniversary. The Green Turtle offered a unique option to the traditional B&B or hotel. Imagine yourself on a house boat with amazing views of Boston Harbour, where you were lulled to sleep by the gentle waves. The room was great and well appointed, and Karen's hot breakfasts were wonderful. The location of this B&B is also great, as we were close to public transit and many great restaurants in the Charlestown and North End areas. Thanks Karen and Jon for your outstanding hospitality!

Romantic Weekend

4.8 on February 20, 2013

Karen and Jon are the perfect hosts! The room had a gorgeous view of the city and it was very clean and well kept. Breakfast was served to your room and absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend the Green Turtle. The location is great because you feel very removed from the fast pace of the city, but you can reach downtown in a matter of minutes.

AWESOME experience!!!

4.6 on January 08, 2013

I surprised my bf with a 2 night stay on the Green Turtle II B&B, and we couldn't have loved it more! Even though it was in January, middle of winter, the yacht was warm and cozy. Our hosts, Karen and Jon, were very friendly and accomodating. The yacht itself is positioned at a great location on the pier and has great scenary views. If we enjoyed it this much in the winter with the relaxing, peacefullness of being cozied up in a yacht for the weekend, I can only imagine the summertime with the patio's and BBQ's! Everything exceeded our expectations. Thank you very much, Marianne :)

Wonderful B&B and Magnificent Location

5 on November 25, 2012

The accommodations were superb, the views and location quite wonderful. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful with directions and restaurant suggestions. The location, so close to the ferry to downtown Boston made travel effortless. We had a terrific Sunday morning breakfast (in November) out on the dock, with a great view of Boston. Then, we had a short walk to the U.S.S. Constitution and Bunker Hill. We were so happy that we found the Green Turtle Floating B & B - it really made for a terrific Boston get away weekend.

Corner paradise

5 on November 25, 2012

Karen and Jon excellent innkeepers. Karen’s breakfast outstanding. Green Turtle II perfect clean, warmly and tidy. Pier very quiet and secure also in the night. Special experience here, strongly recommended. Thanks from Italy.

Friendly and Fantastic!

5 on November 16, 2012

Jon & Karen will go out of their way to make you feel 100% at home! If you stay on one of the boats, be sure that you are able to climb a small amount of stairs. Anyone that has issues with stairs should ONLY stay on the actual houseboat (no stairs). The parking spot that is included is wonderful, ditto the free wi-fi.

Peaceful B&B

5 on November 09, 2012

This floating house lulls you to sleep at night. It's so quiet being on the water, You'd never know you're in the city. Wonderful full breakfast, lots of treats left in the room. Yet it's close enough to walk to restaurants, as well as sightseeing. And clean! The owners are right next door if you need anything. Pick this place before any hotel in Boston!

Um- "AMAZING!"

5 on November 06, 2012

What an amazing, unique experience! Why stay in a hotel when you can lounge on a yacht overlooking the city? Meeting Karen and Jon was like coming home. They were so warm, hospitable, funny, charming and quintessential Boston. We have never experiences anything like this and to top it off, the food was to-die-for! Top notch, chef inspired dishes that come straight to your door with a smile. Our visit has definitely spoiled us or future visits anywhere else! THANK YOU Karen and Jon!

Quick get away

5 on November 06, 2012

My wife and I were always curious about the Green Turtle so we decided to book a night to check it out. We have traveled around the world and I must say, this was a pleasant surprise. From the welcoming to the breakfast to the gentle motion on the water. It was outstanding. the views are breath taking and we can hardly wait to book another vacation with the Green Turtle!

Great Weekend Getaway

4.2 on October 31, 2012

Stayed at Green Turtle for very relaxing weekend. Owners were busy preparing for hurricane but still gave us full attention. Great location to do as much or as little as you would want. Very unique B&B but still provided top quality accommodations. Would definitely recommend to others.

Amazing!

5 on October 31, 2012

My husband and I stayed aboard the Green Turtle II for our 27th anniversary. We wanted something a little unique and this fit the bill. The boat is beautiful and has an amazing view. We absolutely loved it and can't wait to go back again. Karen and Jon were very welcoming and friendly. You can tell they are happy when their guests are happy. I would highly recommend staying here.

Most excellent BB!

5 on October 30, 2012

I would highly recommend this B & B to everyone going to Boston or just passing thru! Karen and Jon are wonderful hosts and bring a fresh incredible breakfast right to your a yacht deck! You have a super view of the Boston skyline and the sun rising the next morning! So enjoyed our stay!

AMAZING EXPERIENCE, DIDNT WANT TO LEAVE!

5 on October 30, 2012

We checked in on the last day of our stay in Boston and without a doubt knew instantly how wonderful it would be and wished we booked more nights. Karen and Jon were wonderful and gracious and the breakfast we got the next morning was heavenly. With the windows open overlooking the water and breakfast in bed who wouldnt feel they are on an amazing vacation?!?! We CAN NOT Wait to get back to visit Karen and Jon and our home away from home. Most definately when we return to Boston we will be booking more time to stay vs just one night! There is a place for cocktails within walking distance that we enjoyed as well and Karen and Jon had great advice on places to see and restaurants to eat at that were nearby. A++++++ Cant wait to visit again!

This place is awesome!

5 on October 29, 2012

Jon and Karen are perfects hosts. They gave us great recommendations for places to eat in Boston and easy ways to get around. I hope we get to stay there again sometime!

“If you're visiting in or anywhere near Boston, stay here!”

5 on October 29, 2012

Our very best decision in visiting Boston was deciding to stay at the Green Turtle B&B. Just to make it easy, here's the scoop: -- We stayed on our own houseboat, complete with two beds, two baths, a living room with a flat screen TV, a breakfast nook, a kitchen, and two decks with nearly 360 degree views of Boston Harbor. -- The boat was impeccably clean and tidy. -- The beds were firm and really slept like a dream. -- The boat had lots of windows, so you had a wonderful view all the time. -- Every detail was attended toward, from the granola in the canisters to the fancy folds in the toilet paper. -- Breakfast was simply perfect, homemade, and a robust serving size. -- The refrigerator is stocked with water, yogurt, and other odds and ends. A bin on the stove held packaged snack foods. -- The innkeepers are incredibly friendly and nice, yet give you your privacy, too. They were hospitable at every turn; they filled special requests and gave valuable advice for first time visitors, although they could undoubtedly even give sage traveling advice or hotspot recommendations for seasoned travelers. In short, if and when we come back to Boston, we will schedule our trip around the availability of the Green Turtle B&B. Do we recommend it? If there were a way to give more than 5 stars, we would - Yes, stay here!

Unique and memorable experience!

5 on October 28, 2012

This is quite possibly the most unique way to visit Boston and avoid the hustle and bustle of the main part of the city. While the hotels are grand, sometimes you want to feel like a local and just walk around the harbor or sit and watch the water. The Green Turtle allows you to do just that. With amazing accomodations and genuinely friendly owners, you can't go wrong with this place!

The Perfect Anniversary

5 on October 22, 2012

I wanted to surprise my husband with an "out of the ordinary" Annivrsary trip in the fall. I found the perfect Anniversary present when I read a review of the Green Turtle Floating B & B In Boston. Our stay included free parking and a beautiful, hot breakfast prepared by Karen and delivered by Jon, the owners of the Green Turtle. Our room was lovely with beautiful bed linens, a mini kitchen with microwave and fridg, a flat screen tv and air conditioning or heat as needed. The fridg was stocked with juices and water and there were many snacks as well. The location is wonderful; just one dock over from the USS Constitution and within walking distance of the wonderful North End. Our mornings were brilliant and calm and we never tired of watching all of the harbor traffic from our chairs on the dock with a cup of hot coffee. The night views were amazing as well with the skyline of Boston lighting up the sky like stars. It was a wonderful, relaxing visit. We will go back.

Unique B&B

4.8 on October 21, 2012

My partner and I spent 3 nights in early October at the Green Turtle. We stumbled across it whilst searching online for accomodation in Boston. It was truly a unique experience. The hosts, Karen and Jon treat you like old friends and nothing was to much trouble for them. Each day they discussed with us what we would like for breakfast the following morning, this was then delivered hot to our 'front door' at exactly the time agreed. When and if we ever get back to Boston we would certainly stay 'on board' again.

A marvellous experience

4.8 on October 19, 2012

We stayed for 3 nights at the Green turtle at the end of our honeymoon in America at the beginning of October. We had a fantastic experience and Jon and Karen could not have done anything more to help us. Breakfast was served outside our room at a time convenient for us and our room was cleaned every day. There is a coffee machine and the fridge is refilled each day. Karen showed us all of the best sights to see in Boston and whilst in the navy yard in Charlestown it is only a quick and easy 10 minute ferry to the main part of the city. Overall we would not hesitate to recommend the green turtle and they even have two new boats for 4 or 6 people to use which also look amazing. Paul and Jo Collins

Green Turtle B&B - Boston

I stayed here with my husband in October 2012. It was an inviting and unique property and we loved every minute of our stay! Thanks to Karen and John for their hospitality.

Heaven on the Harbour!

5 on October 08, 2012

We spent a week at Green Turtle in one of the comfy units at the end of June this year. We arrived exhausted after 7 weeks in Europe, but thanks to the marvellous hospitality of Karen & Jon and the so comfortable unit we were soon rested & ready to explore all that Boston has to offer. Harborfest afforded us the great opportunity to see all sorts of vessels on the water from small sailing boats skippered by school children to the tall ships & everything in between. We could lie back on that fabulous bed & see all the activity on the water just outside our window - even saw a young man fishing from the boat moorings in front catch a big stripey! Karen & Jon held our luggage when we had to leave for a few days and arranged for our laundry to be done and was back by the end of the day! Nothing was too much trouble! We were far from our home in Australia but were made to feel at home and welcome at the Green Turtle. We were able to walk everywhere & use the local ferry to go to the city centre and walked the freedom trail. We also sampled the eateries our hosts recommended - all in all - a wonderful bed & breakfast stay we would highly recommend to any travellers!

The best B & B we've ever stayed at!

5 on October 06, 2012

The Green Turtle was within walking distance of the USS Constitution, the Bunker Hill Monument, a good place for dinner at the marina, and the trolley system to historic Boston. We parked our car for 3 days and enjoyed both the B&B and Boston. Karen and Jon were on hand to make recommendations and we loved the pizza (which was delivered) on the aft deck. The property was comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was warm and wonderful.

Unique Experience

5 on October 05, 2012

My friend and I had such a wonderful time staying at the Green Turtle Floating Bed and Breakfast. Karen and Jon made us feel at home and cooked such delicious breakfasts for us. I recommend staying here and look forward to returning soon.

Great B&B

The Green Turtle is unique as you stay on a floating vessel. Green Turtle III has two bedrooms and two full baths a galley, open deck area and living room. The hosts are super helpful and the overall feel is one of home. I can't wait to stay here again

Fabulous Green Turtle

Green Turtle - a great place to stay in Boston

4.4 on September 30, 2012

Arrived by water taxi - the best way! Jon and Karen greeted us warmly and gave us a wealth of useful info, which greatly increased our enjoyment of the city. The views are superb and you are in a grandstand position to observe all the waterfront activities. The breakfasts are excellent and substantial. A perfect start to a holiday.

Relaxing Fall Weekend...

In Boston to enjoy a couple of baseball games, a bit of shopping, great food and fantastic accommodations.

Just perfect!

5 on September 28, 2012

It was just perfect! It was more like staying at friends than to be at a B&B. My room was just perfect. I could see the big boats passing by. In the morning I had a delicuse breakfast. Karen and Jon gave me a lot of very good and helpful tipps from Boston. Jon even drove me to the airport when it was time to leave. When I come back to Boston, there is just one place to stay at the green turtle!

Birthday Bash

5 on September 27, 2012

4.8 on September 16, 2012

We stayed in the houseboat and will be booking it again. Next time we will go with another couple, who will rent the other side. The opportunities to walk to restaurants, Constitution, Constitution Museum and park-like areas was a pleasant surprise. We had made the reservation at the suggestion of a friend, who had just said, "You will like it". Also, we took water ferry from the next pier for $3 each and were dropped off near Aquarium and other attractions near downtown. Also, we could have walked to Italian North End.....Anyway, great and a perfect day weather-wise. We highly recommend this different Bed and Breakfast and did not want to leave. Having a drink at the end of the pier and watching the lights go on in Boston skyline buildings and having breakfast brought to us at the end of the pier were the highlights for us. Karen and Jon are wonderful unobtrusive hosts, who are right next door if you need them.

I just loved it!

5 on September 15, 2012

Thank you so much for everything! Your made me feel like I'm home. My room was like on the pictures online. Your breakfast was delicouse. But it's hard when you travel on, because I'had after my stay with you very high expectation. Thank you also Jon for driving me to the airport. When I come back to Boston I know the ONLY place I would stay is with you! I still remember the evening we spend outside. Karen yout tried to catch some fish and we were talking together and it was just one of thoses great times you never forget.

21st Anniversary

4.6 on September 14, 2012

We stayed aboard one of the Green Turtle's private yachts for our 21 Anniversary. We were warmly greeted by John and Karen and escorted to our stunning and comfortable oasis. Within ten minutes ..... Cocktails on the back deck, looking at the harbour, sunshine and a warm breeze blowing .... it created a great memory. Breakfast was delivered exactly on time by Jon and was delicious. Centrally located so we were within walking distance to all the major highlights. We will return again to make more memories!!

Unique Lodging in Boston Harbor

5 on September 10, 2012

A lovely respite after busy days sightseeing in Boston - a floating hotel room with a view of Boston. Super comfortable bed, tasty freshly made breakfasts, complimentary beverages & snacks in the room, friendly & knowledgeable hosts, free shuttle to town - hard to beat! Would also be a good base to explore areas outside of Boston - next trip we'll make time for that.

Wonderful accomodations

4.8 on September 07, 2012

We only stayed one night but had a wonderful experience. The innkeepers couldn't have been nicer, and although we left very early to catch a plane, they had breakfast at the door at 5:30 AM, and made all of our cab arrangements for us. The B & B was just a 10 minute walk to the North End and the restaurant that was suggested was excellent, and exactly what we were looking for. We will definitely be back for a longer stay.

Loved our stay!

4.0 on September 06, 2012

My hausband and I recently spent 3 nights aboard the 45 ft Green Turtle II. We enjoyed every minute of it, from the warm welcome we received upon arrival to the comfort and features of the boat, the great breakfasts and the tips on dining and sightseeing. Our only regret was we had to leave.

Amazing

5 on September 06, 2012

We just loved it. The view of the tankers outside our windows was priceless. You can walk to the North End from the B&B. The owners are perfectionist. The place was more then we could have asked for. Oh and the breakfast was so delicious. Home fries from off the skillet, frittata and fresh fruit. We live in Cambridge and this is a prefect spot for a staycation.

Ahhh.....

4.8 on August 30, 2012

This was our second stay on the houseboat, and it was as wonderful as the first. It is truly a unique, relaxing and fun experience staying on the houseboat with the great view of the harbor and the city. Some of the plusses for us: - our hosts, Karen and Jon, are wonderfully nice people and fun to talk with - breakfast, served when you request in your room, is great - an easy walk to the North End, then on to the rest of Boston - or take the ferry for a couple of bucks - a nice ride on the water - there are nice munchies/fun food, a refrigerator with water and some drinks, and other kitchen ware for your use - sitting on the dock with a cold drink, looking over the harbor is a great way to end any day - the gentle rocking of the boat at night, together with the sea air, will put anyone into a deep sleep - it's quiet, peaceful and a wonderful place to hang out We loved it, and hope to be back next year. We checked out the new cabin cruisers and they look like fun - especially sitting in the sitting area at the back of the boat with a great view of the city. Thorgan

A fabulous alternative to downtown hotels!

4.6 on August 19, 2012

Karen and Jon are wonderful hosts. They are very helpful, friendly, and a lot of fun to spend some time with. The boat is great! Very spacious and airy. The bed was wonderful too. Rocking gently to sleep on the water was so relaxing. The location is excellent. You can take the ferry into downtown, or a shuttle bus. Karen makes delicious breakfasts delivered hot and exactly when you've asked for it. They stock the kitchen with juices, water, coffee , tea, and snacks! A home away from home without the wok! Will definitely go back!!

Excellent!

5 on August 15, 2012

We stayed at The Green Turtle B&B August 11th, and had a fantastic experience. Right off the bat the owners Jon and Karen made us very welcome. My girlfriend and I found our accommodations on Green Turtle 1 both comfortable and relaxing; we were both very impressed. Our room was decorated beautifully, and everything was immaculate. The breakfast that was delivered to our door in the morning, was oth fresh and delicious. We will always stay at the Green Turtle when visiting Boston, and we thank Jon and Karen for a wonderful weekend.

Perfect Inn in Boston

5 on August 14, 2012

Our stay at the Green Turtle Inn was really outstanding. We arrived with the water taxi and enjoyed the beautiful view on the harbor and the Green Turtle Inn. Our room was located in the "main" house boat of the green turtle (the green house) and really lovely. The innkeepers Karen and John give you the feeling, that you are very welcome, and are really helpful (especially to tourist from abroad like us). We enjoyed the warm summer nights with a glass of wine on the wharf with the view at the harbor of Boston in the sunset. For sightseeing you can easily get downton by ferry or by public transport within 20 minutes! When we go to Boston next time, we will definitely book the Green Turtle again! Thank Karen and John for the nice tim at your place!

A great alternative to traditional lodging

4.4 on July 23, 2012

Who wants to stay in a boring hotel when you can stay on your own personal yacht? Take a water taxi from the airport directly to your front door and let Karen and John take care of you. We actually held a three-day meeting on the Green Turtle II and loved every minute of it. Only one caveat: If you get seasick very easily, opt for the Green Turtle I.

Cool stay in Boston

5 on July 19, 2012

Dinner not included, but had a great cookout with innkeepers and other guest to watch July 4 in Boston harbor. Wonderful sitting on cool water instead of the heat downtown.

A Very Different B&B

5 on July 19, 2012

A little piece if heaven..... and you really are sitting on the dock of the bay! This is such an amazing place to stay. We arrived by water taxi for our four night stay to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and received the best welcome we have ever had on our travels round the world from Jon and Karen.  They were great hosts, nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel like part of the family. The suite was very comfortable with lots of extras and we really felt at home.  Breakfast each day was unbelievably good! We only wished we had stayed for longer!  This is such a peaceful place yet so close to the city. We were really sad to leave and the memories of our stay will be with us for a long time to come. PS Jon and Karen remember what we said about winning the lottery......

Green Turtle A Unique, Worthwhile Experience

5 on June 30, 2012

My wife and I very much enjoyed our six nights stay at this truly unique B&B on the water. Karen and Jon, the innkeepers, were gracious hosts who went to exceptional lengths to accommodate all of our needs. We plan to return to Boston this coming fall or spring and will definitely stay at the Green Turtle again. We heartily recommend this B&B to anyone who is intererested in having an out-of-the-ordinary experience. Tom and Starr Scott from Pittsburgh, PA.

Stay for more than one night. You won't regret it.

4.6 on June 26, 2012

The views, the hospitality and the breakfast cannot be beaten. A nervous 10 minute car hire drive from the airport the reception and the room itself is enough to settle nerves. Karen, the innkeeper, could not have been more friendly and her breakfast is to die for. Add to that the views of a gigantic tanker from the bed, yes bed, and the duck nesting in the window box and the visit is complete. I just wish we had stayed longer.

Great Hosts and location

The rooms are very clean and comfortable and they are stocked with a nice selection of snacks. The gentle moving of the water means a great sleep! great place to relax

Great room (we stayed in the Loggerhead suite), hospitality and breakfast (the best pancakes we have ever eaten)! We stayed here the final two nights of a 5 day trip and were able to really relax while we visited the USS Constitution and Bunker Hill nearby. For visiting Boston, a 10-min walk and a ferry ride or a $10 taxi ride is required. We loved it!

Truly Special

5 on May 22, 2012

What a wonderful B&B. Karen and Jon were great hosts. The Loggerhead Suite was beautifully presented, with everything you could possible want. The location was just amazing. So close to Boston, but in your own little oasis. Magical views of Boston skyline and boats passing your fron door. Would love to come back one day, with some other Aussie friends and stay on the new yacht. Robyn and Brent

The room was charming and cozy, the view of the harbor was terrific, the proximity and accessability to sight seeing in Boston was phenomenal. The breakfasts Karen prepared were delicious. Above all else, Karen and Jon's hospitality and attentiveness made this trip as unique and as special as I hoped. A truly wonderful experience!

Unique and delightful!

4.0 on January 23, 2012

Our short visit to Boston in July 2011 was defined by this amazing discovery - a really special & different experience. Karen & Jon are the most delightful hosts and it was fun to see how they lived - next door to the B&B on their yacht. I still have the image in my mind of them fishing for their dinner as we headed off in the water taxi to the airport. Green Turtle was indeed a highlight of our 3 week trip to the USA. Delicious breakfasts, fascinating traffic on the river, and good access to all we wanted to do in Boston. Do what you need to and get yourself there!

Fantastic stay!

Thanks for a great visit! We can't recommend this place enough.

Hidden Gem

5 on December 06, 2011

A delightful surprise. Our hosts, Karen & Jon, were friendly and most accomodating. The breakfasts were just to our liking. The apartment was cozy with an extraordinary view. The Harbor Walk added to our experience. We wish we could have stayed longer

amazing

We had a great time at the Green Turtle B&B. The food was outstanding and the hosts were very helpful and friendly. Trust their restaurant suggestions! Would recommend staying here to any/everyone!

WOW

This was a wonderful experience. Great location. Within walking distance to may sights and a short water taxi ride to Long Wharf. Highly recommend the Green Turtle.

Wonderful experience

5 on November 15, 2011

What a view to have day or night. Very clean and a very good breakfast catered to our taste. Suprisingly easy and inexpensive travel options into Boston. We will be extremely disappointed if there are no vacancies at The Green Turtle on our next Boston trip.

Very peaceful location close to all the city attractions

4.2 on October 30, 2011

A floating B&B in Boston Bay yet with easy connections to everything you would want to see in Boston. Karen and Jon are very informative and helpful.

Green Turtle Floating Houseboat

4.8 on October 28, 2011

The owners, Jon and Karen are so accommodating and we definitely will return to this "houseboat" again. I know my adult children would love to stay there. Good ideas for Chirstmas gift. Thank you, Joanie

Loved the Green Turtle!!

4.6 on October 24, 2011

We spent Columbus Day weekend at the Green Turtle. What more can I say that hasn't already been said in the previous reviews? We had a fabulous time! The room is lovely, decorated beautifully, comfy bed , and the delicious home made breakfast served to us on the dock was perfect. The view of the city from the Green Turtle is priceless!! We spent several hours both days just relaxing on the deck chairs on the dock. Karen and Jon are the ultimate hosts, so helpful ,pleasant and friendly. They provide plenty of info on the city and have great recommendations on anything you may want to do. The location is great. It's so nice to park your car at the Marina(included!) and never have to touch it until your departure. We utilized the MBTA water ferry to Long Wharf and also walked back from downtown. Neighborhood has several places to stop along the way. We will definitely be back again next year for a longer stay!! Can't wait!

A novel way to start a holiday in New England

5 on October 20, 2011

My husband and I started a 3 week trip to New England with 4 nights at the Green Turtle. We arrived from the airport by water taxi! Karen and Jon were so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They made lots of good recommendations and were always on hand when we needed help or advice. They live on a boat behind the b & b and every morning a lovely hot breakfast was delivered to our door. The standard of accommodation was excellent and everything had been thought of. We ate breakfast watching the numerous boats going by and were rocked to sleep every night. It was also lovely to sit outside on the deck with a glass of wine after a hard day sightseeing! Although slightly away from Boston centre this was not a problem as there was a free bus into town and also water taxis. There were some places to eat within walking distance which were excellent and it was a very comfortable area to walk around at night. I am now trying to find and excuse to go back but as we are from England it has to be a good one! Thanks Karen and Jon for a lovely stay - Lynne and Peter

Best part of our honeymoon!

5 on October 10, 2011

The Green Turtle is absolutely amazing - the location is beautiful and unusual, the accomodation is spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated, and Karen and Jon have thought of absolutely everything. We spent the last night of our New England honeymoon there and from the moment we arrived, we were treated as friends by Karen and Jon; they are genuinely lovely, welcoming people. On arrival, we needed to return our rental car and when we got to the office, Jon had beaten us there, ready to give us a lift back to the Green Turtle! En route he gave us a mini-tour of Charlestown Navy Yard, pointing out handy locations such as the nearby bistro and the ferry stop. The following morning we were treated to a delicious, homemade breakfast, delivered to our door. Even though checkout was 11am, our flight home was much later and Karen and Jon let us keep our luggage at the Green Turtle so that we could spend the day in Boston, then they booked us a water taxi to the airport. We felt as if we were in a 5 star hotel, only it was much more fun and relaxing. Our only regret is that we had only booked to stay for 1 night. Thanks so much Karen and Jon - we can't wait to come back next year!

even though the weather was not cooperative, the experience was still an enjoyment. nice walking area and good restaurants, the harbor views fantastic and the hosts most accommodating!

Wonderful Hospitality

4.4 on October 05, 2011

We were made welcome by Jon and Karen the minute we arrived. This is a lovely room with great amenities, including snacks and breakfast. Very comfortable bed. Jon even took us to the airport the next morning. They make you feel like family. We just wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy sitting on the dock and the scenery.

Fun, peaceful, beautiful retreat

3.0 on September 29, 2011

The review classifications on this site are misleading. My expectations were high, so this property "met my expectations". If the options were simply 5 stars I would give 5 stars! We stayed 2 nights in September and were delighted with it. The only down side is that at weekends the bus connections to town are only every 1/2 hour and water taxis stop around 6pm. As I hate waiting, I chose to walk to the nearest T stops at North station and Boston College which are pleasant walks that take about 1/2 hour. We met our kids for an expensive meal in town, but in retrospect I wish we had invited them to the boat for a carry out meal on the pontoon where we could have had a drink and watched the sun go down. It is remarkable that such a relaxing place is so close to a bustling city. Karen and John could not be more welcoming and we would highly reccomend it to anyone.

One of the best vacations ever!

4.4 on September 21, 2011

I planned an overnight stay at the GReen Turtle as a surprise for my husband on our anniversary. The innkeeper was so essential in helping me plan our weekend and keep the excitement of my secret. I could not be more thrilled by the accomidations, the lovely breakfast, or the unbelievable views from the dock. Everything was PERFECT!! We will be back again real soon and can not thank the innkeepers enough for such a great vacation.

Fabulous

5 on September 21, 2011

Surprised my husband for his birthday by taking him to the Green Turtle B&B. What a wonderful experience! Location is fabulous, the view of the harbor is wonderful. So easy to get around the city...you can walk all around or you can take the water taxi, ferry or bus...everything is very accessible. Karen, the owner, met us right as we pulled in to the parking lot (another amenity). She was so friendly and accomodating and was full of knowledge about the city. Jon, her partner, was out of town so we did not meet him until it was time to check out, although only knowing him for 10 minutes it was "hugs" goodbye...wonderful people. Our room was spotless and beautifully decorated, full of snacks and drinks. The bed was very comfortable with big pillows and a warm comforter. Karen/Jon deliver your breakfast outside your door in the morning. I was expecting pastries and instead had an egg and bacon sandwich, homefries and a baked apple...Karen is a wonderful cook!!! Just a wonderful place to stay in Boston...we have already booked for next year... Gail and Gerry White, Attleboro

Green Turtle is better than any hotel!

5 on September 19, 2011

We stayed a weekend at the Green Turtle and within 5 minutes of arriving, we asked if we could move in! That was only reinforced as the weekend progressed to the point of sadness in leaving at the end of it! Karen and John are absolutely fabulous people who are welcoming, warm, friendly, caring, on and on and on - they honestly felt like friends by the end of our 2 day stay! They were there for anything we needed while at the same time giving space so we could enjoy our weekend privately as well. The room was spacious, clean, well stocked (SO many snacks & they were all included!). Honestly - it was better than anywhere we have stayed previously! The view from the room, and breakfast on the dock just topped it all off! We can't wait to go back and the next time we head to Boston - we will keep our fingers crossed that we can stay there again! I'm pissed this place is so awesome!

5 on September 15, 2011

I'm pissed because they are ALWAYS booked - that's how awesome this B&B and the people are. All the 5 STARS and the glowing reviews of the Green Turtle are true, and perhaps a bit understated even. Artie, Mary, Jon and Karen are truly some of the very best people you'll ever find on earth. So GRACIOUS and a TON OF FUN. Warm and inviting people - they want nothing but the best for YOU and will turn themselves inside out making sure your stay here is an ideal one. This is an unbelievable way to vacation and to see Boston. There's just no other way to experience Boston, in my humble opinion. On the Green Turtle, you're a million miles away while, at once, being in the middle of a big city...that's hard to do! You will leave this place smiling and sad that you have to go. Seriously.

25th Anniversary Getaway

5 on September 09, 2011

Relaxing, Quiet & close to everything. The Green Turtle was a great place to end our first (not last) visit to Boston. We loved starting our day having breakfast & coffee sitting on the dock. Karen & Jon were very friendly & offered great advice on where to go, what to see & how to get there (a close ferry ride or the free shuttle) or you could just walk into the city if you were crazy like us. The room was very comfortable & very quiet compared to our stay in the North End.

Visiting Boston, I wouldn't stay anywhere else, only Green Turtle.

5 on September 09, 2011

Amazing B&B,Karen and Jon are brilliant hosts and our stay was fantastic.Who could ask for more than sitting eating your beautifully prepared breakfast looking out across Boston Bay. Much better than four walls in a hotel any day. Local water bus takes you over to the Aquarium,Faneuil Hall and Quincy market for only $1.75 and only 85 cents if you are over 60 !!! When we arrived at Boston airport we took the free shuttle bus( No 66) to the dockside then got a water taxi, which took us directly across Boston Bay right up to the pontoon where Green Turtle is.Great way to reach your accommodation.Look forward to our next visit.

again at any time

Red Sox Yankees Trip

4.6 on August 28, 2011

Karen and Jon were more than welcoming at all times during of our stay. They made sure we were aware of all things to do and see in Boston as well as local transportation options. We have found a new place to stay when we visit Boston.

I wish I could keep my mouth shut!

5 on August 28, 2011

You want an example on how to deliver INCREDIBLE Service? Book a few nights here and take notes. I know I'm going to regret saying how great Karen, Jon, and the "green turtle" is, BUT I use other reviews to base my decisions , so I should do the right thing and tell you about this place. The room is in a great (no-Really Great) location. The Room is in immaculate condition when you arrive and during your stay. I'm not sure who cooks- but it is a really great breakfast. When I say "really great Breakfast", I ask that you think of all the times you would be served breakfast and regret it. Hell, I was served delicious pancakes with strawberries and cream -with Hurricane Irene scheduled to arrive in 6 hours!! Are you kidding me? a Great tasting breakfast served while the hosts are securing the rooms and their boat for the impending hurricane! Please! You will Not regret your decision (if you are lucky enough to get in) to stay at the Green Turtle.

Best in Boston

5 on August 25, 2011

We stayed at the Turtle for a long weekend recently. It is the best B&B we have stayed in, and one we plan to visit often. The rooms are what you'd expect on a boat - not very big but adequate with everything in it's place. It is very well done - our hosts, had really thought of everything. The bed is very comfortable with many pillows, there is a small table for eating, there are munchies on the countertop, water and juice in the refrigerator, and so many small touches that you know they really cared about the comfort of their guests. And of course there were comfortable deck chairs and a small table for sitting on the dock and looking over the city and harbor. Best of all you are on the water and can open the windows and let the ocean breeze in, while gently rocking to sleep. The location outside the city core may be an issue for some. You can't just leave your room and be in the city, but for us that wasn't an issue. It's fairly easy to walk to Boston. We walked a great deal at night and felt safe at all times. Walkways were well lit, there were lots of other people out walking, and it was well patrolled. Everyone we asked told us they felt very safe in this area. The Inn provides breakfast in the morning, discretely brought to your door whenever you decide. It was simply wonderfully delicious each and every day. The perfect start to the day! The hosts, John and Karen live in the sailboat next to the Inn, and are around should you have a question or need anything. They are wonderful, interesting people, and will make you feel right at home. I give this 5 stars all around. You can't beat the views and ocean air of the rooms, everything you need seems to be there (and some things you may not expect - like free munchies!), it's very clean and comfortable, and the breakfasts are wonderful. It's the perfect place for a romantic stay in a great city. A real gem.

A great place to stay

3.8 on August 18, 2011

This was our first trip to Boston and we wanted somewhere different to stay, away from the usual hotel chains. The Green Turtle B & B soon became our choice after reading various reviews. From the moment we booked Karen & Jon were in contact and offered useful advice, which continued all the while we stayed at the Green Turtle. Nothing was too much trouble. Jon and Karen made us feel welcome on our arrival and we soon felt at home. We were free to come and go as we pleased and although they were around and we would chat, neither Jon or Karen were intrusive and if we wanted to be left to our own devices then I'm sure we would have been. The accomodation was bright, modern, well maintained, clean and airy. The room was large, certainly big enough to accomodate the king size bed, kitchenette and seating area with ease - without feeling cramped. The en-suite was also clean and roomy. The facilities were excellent with a TV with built in DVD, microwave and a stocked fridge.Tea/coffee and snacks were replenished daily. The bed is worth a mention just on its own...it was fantastic - big, soft and comfortable - and gave us some of the best nights sleeps we have encountered in a long time!!!! Breakfasts were plentiful with cereal, yoghurt, fruit juices, milk being readily available in your room and each morning at a time agreed by you, either Jon or Karen would bring you a cooked breakfast, which varied daily. What there was certainly set us up for a day of sightseeing! Getting into Boston and back again was easy by using the free bus that operated every 15 minutes on a daily basis between 13th Street and the General Hospital, and something that Jon and Karen suggested we use, although a half an hour walk along the boardwalk would get you to where the free bus would drop you to sight see the waterfront area of Boston anyway. Overall the experience was one that met all our expectations, and was certainly value for money due to its unique location and service.

Wow!

5 on August 09, 2011

If you think expectations are often greater than reality, the Green Turtle is the exception to that rule! I saw the Green Turtle on Bostons local TV show Chronicle. I thought it looked unique, comfortable & relaxing. I immediately booked a 3 night stay. After booking, buyers remorse set in. I started wondering if it was really as great as it appeared on TV. Well, I am glad to say it was better than expected! My wife and I had a great time getting to know John & Karen and have been telling all our friends this is a bucket list item. The room, very cofortable. The Breakfasts, Great! I am gluten free and Kaen and John made sure I had gluten free toast with my breakfasts. This was a surprise anniversary getaway for my wife and she loved every minute of it. We got to have our alone time but we also took time to go visit our Kids and grandchildren who live in th Boston area. This was a great way to spend some vacation time alone and still see our wonderful kids and grandchildren. Put the Green Turtle on your Bucket List you won't be disappointed. Bob & Sue NH

40th Anniversary Weekend

5 on August 04, 2011

My wife surprised me with a getaway weekend for our 40th...and was I ever surprised. As we arrived we were greeted by John who assisted with our luggage. The approach to the Green Turtle is so unique that you dont quite understand were you are going until you actually get there...and then you just can't stop smiling. Karen showed us thru our wonderfully appointed room and the weekend officially began. As there are only two units, it is very private with the best times early in the morning, and then afternoon into the evening. Now that we have discovered the Green Turtle with John and Karen...we will not wait another 40 years to visit.

A Must Do!

5 on July 23, 2011

Wonderful place to stay

5 on July 11, 2011

Karen and Jon were wonderful hosts. They provided several suggestions for places to eat and things to see. They assisted us with navigating around the city. They were friendly and helpful. The Green Turtle is a unique and delightful place to stay. The hot breakfasts were delicious.

Loved It! Loved It!

4.6 on June 29, 2011

I just returned from a four day stay at The Green Turtle where I celebrated my 40th birthday. The room was wonderful; very clean and modern decor, stocked with various drinks and snacks, coffee/tea, etc. The bed was heavenly, emphasized by the soft rocking on the water at night and the freshly cooked breakfast that followed each morning was top notch. The Green Turtles' location was perfect, walking distance to most must see Boston attractions and minutes to the "T" for traveling further distances. If touring is not your thing sitting on the dock just outside the door was tranquil, almost hypnotizing watching the boats sail by. Karen & Jon could not have been more friendly and helpful.

A Fantastic Getaway

5 on June 22, 2011

We just came back from our stay at the Green Turtle. All the previous reviews are true! This was the BEST getaway we've ever had. Jon and Karen are the most friendliest hosts. They make you feel that you have known them for a long time eventhough you have just met them!! We will definitely be back and just might make it a yearly getaway. If you want to experience a perfect, relaxing getaway then you should stay at the Green Turtle!!

Fun, unique place to stay!

3.4 on June 21, 2011

We stayed here just one night to do something different and it was fantastic. We lucked out because the weather couldn't have been better (couldn't imagine it would be all that great in lousy rainy weather). Wonderful innkeepers....informative and "there" but not in your face like some can be : ) Would definitely recommend it to someone a little adventurous!

A unique and wonderful stay in Boston

4.8 on June 19, 2011

This floating inn exceeded our expectations. Everything was lovely from the room, to the beautiful views of Boston Harbour, to the breakfast delivered to our room each morning. This was an exceptional experience. The city of Boston was within walking distance and the inn was close to the ferry and tours. Our host was very helpful and always available if we needed anything. We are looking forward to a return trip.

Perfect Boston Experience

From Jon meeting us at your reserved parking spot in the Marina to our last great breakfast from Karen, it was great -- personal and professional in every way. Tan cerca tan lejos

4.0 on May 15, 2011

We would recommend the Green Turtle Floating B&B

3.6 on May 07, 2011

Location is everything and that's surely the case with the Green Turtle B&B. Relaxing, lots of area attractions within walking distance, wonderful hosts; Karen and Jon. Our only regret was due to upcoming renovations on the pier which we were unaware of, we were actually in a slip just off the waterfront instead of, as pictured, up front with full view of the skyline. We would definitely go back - after renovations are complete to really get the feel of the houseboat with the skyline view.

The Green Turtle is outstanding!

5 on April 06, 2011

Everything about our stay at the Green Turtle was outstanding! From the comfy bed to the delicious breakfasts, everything was an A+! Jon and Karen were terrific hosts and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. They explained the local spots as well as the best ways to get around the city. The accommodations were spotless and we felt very pampered - a great getaway. Can't wait to go back!

So gald I found you!

5 on April 01, 2011

Yes, I am so pleased to offer a review on the Green Turtle Floating Bed and Breakfast. We were on a 5 week vacation in USA. The Green Turtle offered a different experience that went way above and beyond anything you could get at a hotel chain. Our hosts ensured the fridge was stocked with anything you could want all in room costs, free internet and went to the trouble of waking early, cooking a hot breakfast each day before we headed out sightseeing and even at the early hour of 5am, they were there with another hot breakfast and help to the taxi they had arranged for us. There was nothing lacking at all, warm and cosy and felt like home away from home for a few day, even though it rocked us to sleep at night as a bonus.

The best B&B

Green Turtle in the Snow

5 on February 13, 2011

I stayed in January 2011 during a typical Boston winter with lots of snow. Green Turtle was always a warm sanctuary of an evening when I got back and Karen would often have some soup ready to warm me up! Jon & Karen are wonderful hosts and nothing is much too much trouble. Jon's recommendation of the free shuttle bus service saved me a fortune in ferry fares alone! Can't recommend enough and I will be back some day

Most amazing place ever!!!

5 on February 09, 2011

I booked this as a surprise birthday present for my boyfriend who absolutely loves boats thinking this would be a unique gift that would take him by surprise. It far exceeded my expectations!!! John and Karen were absolutely amazing with what they did for us! They were helpful with everything including providing a birthday cake and birthday banner as a welcome for Clay. The accomodations were so comfortable and welcoming we hated to leave. Thanks so much Karen and John(especially John for being able to keep a secret on the walk down to the boat) for making this such a special occasion for Clay! Teri & Clay

What a great weekend!

4.0 on January 12, 2011

Staying on a houseboat in Boston Harbor in January may seem crazy but this was one of the best getaways we have ever enjoyed. The room was cozy, the gentle rocking was soothing, the snowy docks were shoveled and very manageable, the view of the city was stunning, the delicious breakfast arrived warm at our door each morning. Oh, we wish we could have stayed longer. We used City Water Taxi to visit the ICA and restaurants in the Fan Pier area- picked up right outside our door. Go! You will love it. Innkeepers Karen and Jon are attentive but didn't hover. Just a perfect and different winter escape.

You can't beat teh view

I love the Green Turtle!

3.8 on November 29, 2010

This is the coolest B & B. Very unique and so much better than a regular hotel. Can't wait to return in warmer weather. Convenient to lots of fun attractions, shops and eateries. Loved the shuttle boat back to the Turtle. It provided great views of the harbor.

I couldn't have dreamed this wonderful!

5 on November 24, 2010

Have you ever been excited about a vacation and just hoped that it would turn out as neat as you were wanting? Well, this vacation/getaway exceeded any expectations we had! It started from the moment we arrived at the secured dock and innkeeper Jon met us with umbrellas and a roll cart to take our luggage. He had a cheery welcome even though we arrived in the middle of the night. It went uphill from there as we arrived to an adorable, cottage style, houseboat with a beautiful garden like exterior and walked into a spotless room that truly should be labeled luxury. From the linens....and oh my goodness....the linens and bed! To the yummy goodies, unbelievable cleanliness and lastly but not least.... to the service. It is five star, literally in every area. We are world travelers, with picky taste and this trip truly surprised us as one of our favorites and exceeded any expectation. We went in the winter and it was the coziest, most romantic winter trip we have made. I almost hate to leave this review as I don't want to ruin the "secret". It's already out down here in the south as my husband, who never raves about trips, can't stop talking about Green Turtle and now.......even Yankee magazine has found this treasure and wrote about it here....http://www.yankeemagazine.com/issues/2010-05/travel/best-ma-2010/lodging-Boston-area. Jon and Karen.....keep it up! Not only was this a vacation for us.......but a memory we will always cherish. You are gifted in what you do! Thanks, Dow and Rebecca

Boston's Secret Treasure

5 on November 09, 2010

I was proposed to here on a Sunday night. It was the best surprise I have ever received! When we got there I was truly surprised and Jon and Karen made me feel completely at home; welcoming us there. The room was beautiful and the bed, well words just aren't enough to explain how comfortable it was. The breakfast was wonderful, just what I needed to start the day. The whole night was like a dream come true from the moment I got there, to the proposal, to falling asleep to the soft rocking of the houseboat. Thank you Karen and Jon for sharing your amazing home with us!

Great Hideaway

Who knew? At the end of a pier, past unbelievable yachts, sits the perfect little spot right in Boston. If you love the water and crave something different, the Green Turtle is the perfect "hotel". We packed a lot of sight-seeing into 3 days and always looked forward to returning. The sunrise on our last day was breathtaking. We highly recommend this jewel and hope to return.

What a ride!

4.8 on November 04, 2010

We were totally unprepared for what we experienced! We loved being out in the middle of the harbor with nothing to see but the lights of our favorite city in the world. We only stayed one night and had a 6AM flight. Usually breakfast is brought in the morning but Karen and Jon remembered that we had to leave before dawn and still had our breakfast ready for us anyway. They arranged a taxi to the airport that was right on time and would have done anything for us to make our visit even more perfect. You could not ask for more charming accommodations with the sweetest people ever. We hope to return soon! Thank you for a lovely stay.

fab fab you will never beat this !!!

We have found an oasis of tranquility in a bustling city ! fabulous loaction, fabulous hospitality, right down to the champage on arrival and silver wedding balloons and banners all arranged in secret by our travelling companions and Karen - the hostess with the mostest !! The best day of our stay was when we stayed in and relaxed in the sun on the dock , fishing to our hearts content - catching BIG strippers and a bluey ! all cooked to perfection by Karen and eaten by ourselves , Jon and Karen couldn't do enough for us , what ever we enquired about they sorrted for us , a big thank you to jon for sorting out our car hire .... We will definatly be back

Wonderful!

5 on October 03, 2010

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we were treated like old friends round to visit. The location is breathtaking, with views over to Boston across the water. We ate dinner on the deck as the sun went down and the lights of the city were reflected in the water and ships sailed past, towering over us. The room was lovely, with everything we needed and more, for a very comfortable nights stay. Ray and Diane Wilkinson - England

Don't go there.........

4.6 on September 20, 2010

.... unless you are prepared to return time and again. The setting is perfect, the rooms just great, the service and hospitality outstanding and the 'innkeepers' just brilliant. If you want to do something a little different in Boston and still have access to everywhere, then it has to be the Green Turtle. Add to this a fishing trip with Artie (but make sure Mary comes along to keep him in order and find the fish) and you will have a stay to truly remember.

Awesome!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Green Turtle. It was so nice to come to Boston and just relax at the Green Turtle. We loved being in the bay and watching the sunsets. We will come back someday.

Didn't want to leave!

5 on July 25, 2010

We had the pleasure of staying at the Green Turtle for 8 days which included the July 4th holiday! We absolutely loved the Green Turtle and hope to come back soon. Very relaxing watching all the boat traffic go by. We enjoyed watching Boston twinkle in the evening light! What a treat to stay here...we loved the breakfast and the hospitality of both Artie and Mary. While Jon and Karen were 'off duty', they were also willing to answer any questions we had. The beds were comfy with good quality linens. Thanks again to our wonderful hosts!

If your lookin for a peaceful retreat this is it!!!!!

I couldn't imagine a better place to spend our anniversary!

5 on May 16, 2010

Absolute luxury and the best service in the greatest location. We were able to walk all around the historic Charlestown Naval Yard and into the North End for fine Italian dining, but the best was just sitting in the deck chairs sipping champagne, enjoying the sea breeze and watching the boat traffic. Total relaxation!

Most unique place we've ever stayed

5 on April 11, 2010

We loved this place! We stayed in the Sea Turtle suite, beautifully decorated, immaculately clean. The innkeepers, Karen and Jon, were warm, gracious, accommodating. The location on the harbor was awesome; we enjoyed the night lights of Boston as darkness fell, and waking to the sunshine and bustle of harbor activity.

What a beautiful experience!

This place is just fantastic. Coming to Boston from Europe, staying at the Green Turtle just completed the experience. We will not forget the beautiful sunrise the greated us in the morning :-). Thank you for your great hospitality and all your assistance. We hope to come back again some time!

Unique B & B

5 on March 30, 2010

We just returned from a business trip to Boston where we chose to stay at the Green Turtle because we wanted a different lodging experience & that is exactly what we got! Jon met us in the parking lot (free parking - NICE) & carted our luggage along the docks to our lovely, spotless room. We usually travel with a cooler, but with the amenities listed on the website, we left our cooler behind & enjoyed the delicious coffee & juices Karen & Jon stocked in the fridge. They asked what time we would like breakfast delivered & there was a nice breakfast basket waiting outside our door at the precise time we asked for it. We walked to the north end for dinner both nights we were there & sat on the dock upon our return & marvelled at the Boston skyline & the unique setting of the Green Turtle. We will definitely be back & would recommend this to anyone with a sense of adventure.

Picky Guest's Favorite Boston Retreat

5 on March 25, 2010

I stayed at the Green Turtle for a total of several weeks spread out over December - March. The inn is charming and lovely and located in an incredibly peaceful, relaxing setting only a short boat or bus ride, or walk, from downtown Boston, the skyline of which sits impressively across the harbor. The rooms are well-appointed, efficiently laid out and infinitely comfortable, reflecting the innkeepers' impressive attention to detail and general warmth and thoughtfulness. Everything one could possibly need is provided: from the strong shower and luxurious bed to the wine glasses and cheese board. The included wireless service is a particularly welcome touch. The Green Turtle is a gem - close to the action if you want it, but providing a cozy, private retreat if you need a break from it all.

A Floating Paradise

4.6 on March 24, 2010

My husband and I stayed at the Green Turtle in early March 2010. From the personalized outstanding service from Karen and Jon to the spectacular view of the Boston Harbour we were impressed. This floating paradise is cozy and pristine. It so happened that when we were in Boston the weather was 50 degrees, we got to take advantage of enjoying our Canadian Caesar Cocktails on the dock and take in the gorgeous view. We are hooked on the Green Turtle and definetely will be back. Thanks Karen and Jon for a well needed R & R!! Laura and Brian

BEST NEW YEARS EVE!!!!!!!

5 on January 13, 2010

We saw the Green Turtle when we were on a Duck Boat tour in the summer and thought it would be a great way to spend New Years Eve, and we were right. Absolutely superb amenities I can not say enough about, from the way the room is decorated, the warm comfy bed ,the lovely linens ,stocked fridge and delicious snacks. And then when you wake up to a warm pastries and fruit deliveried right outside your door. We did not want to leave and the owners Jon and Mary from the moment they met us at the dock made us feel like family . We can not wait to back in the summer and sit on the deck and watch the sunset.

Do You Believe In Magic?

5 on December 31, 2009

It was Christmas week wet and cold; but, on the Green Turtle, warm and snuggly. The superb amenities, the delectable breakfasts, the gentle swaying to sleep, became all the more magical with each inhabitant we met. The welcoming smiles, the "Hello, great to meet you," gave us pause, knowingly nod, "You know we could get used to this." ¿ One morning, very early, one of us went out to see the sun rise, and saw an unusual rippling about 10 feet from the dock. A head popped up, looked around, it was a harbor seal. We can't wait to go back!

The highlight of our trip!

5 on October 20, 2009

What a stroke of luck to stumble upon the Green Turtle when searching the internet for a place to stay in Boston. The sightseeing we did during our 5 nights in Boston was all very nice (Navy Yard, downtown, Freedom Trail, whale watch, renting a car to drive up to Maine), but the really special part of our trip was the Green Turtle experience. Within hours of being greeted by owners Karen and Jon at the dock, we felt like we had been friends for years. They were there to meet our every want and need, yet were careful to give us our privacy. The Green Turtle is everything all the other reviews talked about...comfortable, beautiful, impeccably clean, and unique. But what I will always remember about the Green Turtle is the people behind the place. Karen and Jon devote their heart and soul to providing their guests an "ultimate experience". If you love the water, boating and/or sailing...this is the place for you!

Exceptional Great Escape!!!

5 on October 17, 2009

The Green Turtle Inn here in Charlestown is the best of Boston’s many delights! Boston has many places to walk about - the best walk of all was the harbor walk back to the Green Turtle Inn at the end of our evenings! We enjoyed taking the water ferry to Long Wharf (in the heart of Boston) walking about catching the T and hailing cabs to the many special events (MIT Energy Night was great!) and fine restaurants in the Boston area. Carmen's was a favorite seafood dinner in the North End small and charming best to make reservations, another great seafood lunch was behind Marriott Long Wharf. Again and again, it was the short walk by the bay to our beloved Green Turtle Inn that we enjoyed the most, quite hide-a-way in the midst of big city - out here you smell the sea and hear the lapping waters which is grand indeed after walking about in a crowded city with lots of noise and smell of diesel and gas. The Green Turtle is a wonderful escape and you know bring warm pastries and fresh fruit will be delivered every morning and you know the good Captain and/or his first mate Mary will be happy to help with whatever you might need along the way. My favorite part of Boston is without a doubt the Green Turtle Inn! If we ever return to Boston it will be based on availability of the Green Turtle Inn! Rue and Russ from Tallahassee, FL

A LITTLE BIT OF HEAVEN IN CHARLESTOWN, MA

4.8 on September 14, 2009

I thought the idea of a floating B & B was quite unique and thought it would a fun to stay there and surprise my husband for his recent retirement. Karen, one of the “crew”, greeted us at the marina and walked us down to the Green Turtle – we were blown away by what an awesome place it was!! Two inviting deck chairs and table are available to each unit. The dock was decorated with beautiful flowers, as were the window boxes. Our suite was beautifully decorated in greens and brown with a nautical touch. Everything looked brand new - so clean and sparkling. We enjoyed sitting on the dock so much that we never followed through with my plans to tour Charlestown or Boston during the day. The only time we left was to walk to dinner at one of several nearby restaurants. What’s great about the location is that you are a five-minute walk from the ferry that travels back and forth to Long Wharf about every 30 minutes. Long Wharf is located a block or two away from Fanueil Hall and the Government Center – plenty of places to eat and toast your great fortune of staying at the Green Turtle – which we did the next day!! There is also a water taxi that will pick you up at Green Turtle’s front door and drop you off at your ocean front destination.Everyone was so friendly – two of our hosts, Karen and Mary were so nice and helpful, answering all our questions. We also had great fun waving to the passing boats (and dancing along with the nightly party boat as it passed, under a moon lit sky!!). The next morning we enjoyed a delicious continental breakfast that was delivered to our door – breakfast croissants, muffins, and fresh fruit. Our suite was well stocked with snacks, yogurt, granola, cereal, juices, milks, water etc. We hated to leave, but assured our “crew” that we would be back!!! There’s nothing like being lulled to sleep by the ocean currents!!

Perfect in every way

What a perfect place to stay in Boston. The accomodations, as well as the trio of owners were wonderful. The Green Turtle is lovely. Decorated beautfully, plush linens and towels, an extremely comfortable bed, a stocked regrigerator as well as snacks. Our breakfasts were great. The atmosphere of our room as well as sitting on the dock watching the sun set offered most peaceful and relaxed feeling. Pure tranquility. There was nothing that did not exceed our expectations. A perfect choice. The next time we come to Boston, there will not be a second thought of where to stay~The Green Turtle. ~~ Perfect

Simply the best!

5 on August 10, 2009

The Green Turtle B&B is everything as advertised and so much more. The location is perfect with an outstanding view of the Boston harbor and easy access to the sights and sounds of Boston proper. The room was clean and comfortable and the morning fresh baked bread and fruit was incredible. We spent most of our time sitting in the deck chairs watching the sunset, the morning sunrise and the many activities going on in the water. However, even more impressive was the chance to get to know the inkeepers (Karen, Jon, Artie and Mary) and spend time chatting with them. They truly made us feel like part of the family and gave us a lot of great information on the things to see and do while in the area. The only negative was that we were only able to spend one night there. We could have stayed several more and not get tired of this unique experience. I have already referred a business friend and he has booked his plans to stay here. This is a stop that you have to make when traveling anywhere close to the Boston area.

What you see is what you get..perfection!

Great service, great stay, great B&B. Stayed at the Green Turtle in December! Perfect place to stay to see the sites in and around Boston especially during the holidays. Transportation so convenient, delicious dinner in the in the North End, and staying at the B&B was a perfect way to start the holidays. Enjoy!

A "Gem"

5 on July 10, 2009

When you arrive at the Green Turtle you are instantly greeted with the fragrant scents from the flowers from the numerous window boxes. Upon entering your suite your attention is drawn to the innkeepers attention to details. They are tastefully decorated which translates to comfort. The bed was extremely comfortable and covered with down comforters and plush blankets. (During our stay we had a few days of very cool weather). Internet service is availble as well as cable TV. Breakfast was provided daily and was varied and very enjoyable. Nightime brought fresh ocean breezes thru our windows. Mornings were enjoyed relaxing in deck chairs sipping coffee and planning our day. This review ends with a "WOW"! We are looking forwardto our return to Boston and the treasure we found on the Harbor.

Fabulous!

Special People; Special Place

5 on December 26, 2008

This is truly a one of a kind experience. I cannot recommend it enough for anyone looking to do something a bit different in Boston. From the personal attention to details and friendly welcome, you will feel right at home at the Green Turtle. The decor is simple and classy, and everything is brand new. My husband and I cannot wait to go back and enjoy this private retreat on the water (and don't worry, I get seasick and after 2 minutes even I forgot where I was!). The "innkeepers" will tell you everything you need to know about Boston, and even took a personalized breakfast order and had it waiting outside the door the next morning - delicious! We had dinner a few miles away and then enjoyed our breakfast on the dock the next morning. My husband even went fishing with "Captain Artie" and loved every minute.

The Ultimate Place to Stay in Boston!

5 on December 16, 2008

We had THE best three nights in Boston at the Green Turtle. The rooms are elegant, the service is top shelf, the whole experience of staying in the harbor has to be experienced. The hosts make everything complete from fresh, hot breakfast breads to placing the deck chairs out for us to relax. The towels are pure luxury and the bedding exceeds anyone's expectations. The refrigerator is full of healthy snacks - you want for nothing. There is only one place to stay in Boston....The Green Turtle..We have our second time booked for September '09 !

Wow!

5 on December 11, 2008

Everything about the Green Turtle is OUTSTANDING from the view while sitting on dock chairs, to the smallest detail in the comfy, well-appointed rooms, to the superior customer service provided by the innkeepers. A great get-away not too far away! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
