"Federal Crest Inn"

"On a recent trip to Virginia my sister and I were lucky enough to find this beautiful bed and breakfast. I can't remember when I had a more enjoyable stay away from home. Federal Inn is a beautifully restored mansion that is more like a gracious home than an Inn. The Innkeepers, Phil and Ann Ripley have filled the rooms with beautiful antiques that are both inviting and comfortable. Our physical needs were met by the charming surroundings, but, due to the Ripley's gracious warmth and the Southern hospitality they showed us, we felt like pampered and special guests. What a delight after a grueling business meeting and hammering down the highway in order to get there! Breakfast was a five star event with perfect eggs benedict garnished with pretty flowers from Ann's garden and home made muffins! We did not want to leave! I plan on returning to this beautiful spot and bringing my Massachusetts husband, so that he too can relax in this elegant Inn/ B and B, and experience genuine, old fashioned hospitality. "
