    City

    • Baton Rouge

    • Distance to city: 25 miles

    • Directions to property:
From New Orleans: Take I-10 into Baton Rouge. Near the Mississippi River bridge, you will come to the I-10 and 110 North split. Take 110 N. Then take Exit 8-C to Natchez, the very last exit off 110 N to Highway 61. Drive about 25 miles and then come to a stop light on the outskirts of the town. Turn left at this stop light onto Commerce Street. In about a mile, you will reach another stop light (the only stop light in the town itself). Turn left onto Ferdinand (the main street in the historic district) and drive for about 3/4 mile until you see our courthouse on your left. Barrow House Inn is directly behind the courthouse on Royal Street, so you can turn left before or after the courthouse. The inn is a large white house with a dark green sign in front.

    Airport

    • Baton Rouge, LA (BTR-Baton Rouge Metro Ryan Fla.) 25 miles

    • Directions to property:
DIRECTIONS FROM BTR (BATON ROUGE METRO AIRPORT) Turn left out of the airport to exit the facility. In about a mile on your *right* get onto the entrance ramp to 110-North. The entrance is not that obvious (especially at night) so keep your eyes peeled for it. Once on 110-N, take Exit 8-C to Natchez (110-N ends here). A small roadside sign on the right will read St. Francisville This Exit. You will then be on US Highway 61, which runs North to St. Francisville. Drive about 25 miles and then come to a stop light on the outskirts of the town. Turn left at this stop light onto Commerce Street, a winding road that passes our local hospital. In about a mile, you will reach another stop light (the only stop light in the town itself). This is the intersection of Commerce and Ferdinand Streets. Then turn left onto Ferdinand Street (the main street in the historic district) and drive for about 3/4 mile until you see the courthouse complex on your left. Courthouse is a red-brick building with white columns and a black copper bell tower. On your right: Grace Episcopal Church and its' cemetery. Church has a long, black cast-iron fence with several live oak tree limbs hanging over the street.Barrow House in is *directly behind* the courthouse.

Innkeeper was very informative regarding the area of St. Francisville. She was very helpful and gave us an awesome experience for our mothers 95th birthday. Would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed our stay very much!! Shirley was an excellent hostess and knew alot about the area and things to do. We didn't have enough time to take everything in so we will definitely return to St. Francisville and The Barrow House Inn!!

We spend a leisurely weekend in St Francisville. Great Host. We stayed in the small house across the street from Barrow, but thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Great place to kick back.

My wife and I went here for a nice quiet weekend for our Baby-moon. We had a wonderful time. Shirley, the owner, was very helpful is educating us about the surrounding area and suggested things for us to do. I do have to say, if you stay here, you MUST try the eggs creole. They are an extra $5, but this breakfast is worth every penny of it. Very clean room. Shirley even made some homemade cookies for us as a welcome present. There was also a bottle of cognac in the room. Every night, I had a nice little night-cap, and we were not charged for this. Great experience.

We stayed in the Printers Cottage, which was beautifully furnished with canopied bed and parlor and our own kitchen. Everything we needed was provided for us. Shirley the Innkeeper was a fountain of information about the area and the Plantation houses. We even went to Angola Prison which was so enlightening . In a video it spoke of rehabiliatation of prisoners. They were refurbershing wheel chairs to give to those in need. We were amazed at their dedication. We went to OXbow for a fabulous dinner.. the best. We would go back again. We was relaxing to sit on the porch and rock!! Thank you! Shirley!!
