My best friend and I recently visited NO for the first time and chose St Peter House as our lodging. And I am glad we did. It is a funky and charming place. There was a convention in town the weekend we were thereso all the big hotels were full and we just got the last room at St PH. We had to share a king size bed but that was no big deal. The location was great just a couple blocks up from the middle of Bourbon St. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Even to the St Louis #1 Cemetary and the MJ theatre. (although at night that walk is not the best idea.) The staff were all friendly and very helpful.

The location is great and the hospitality could not be beat. There is even a cat that lives in the courtyard. It is very different from the traditional hotel and there are no frills but i loved every minute of it.
Great location...but not much more

I frequent New Orleans regularly and I always stay in bed & breakfast accommodations -- I am not one for cookie-cutter hotels, especially in a wonderful city like New Orleans. Unfortunately, St. Peter House would only serve as a last resort for my next trip. All of my past accommodations have been in the same price range of St. Peter House but they have all been much better. First, upon arrival our beds did not have sheets, the alarm clock was broken, and the remote control for the television needed to be programmed. Granted, the staff rectified these issues, but it such a bother to arrive at your accommodations and start trying to bring your room up to standard. Yet, each shortcoming meant a trip to the front office since there was not a telephone in the room. In terms of decor, the tasteless white walls were scuffed and stained, the tile floor was absolutely filthy, and the front panel of the air conditioning unit was missing. The furniture was an odd, unmatched collection that may have been collected from the side of the road. Add to that tissue-thin sheets with cigarette holes and the absence of a mattress pad and you get the idea. Parking is on the street...but this is New Orleans and that is how it is at nearly every place. Would I stay here again? Only as a last resort.

We spent a wonderfull time there. The location of the B&B is perfect and the place is very beautifull and typical. It was nice to do breakfast everymorning in the little patio or in the balcony. We went there with a baby and they did everything they could to make us happy and confortable. Sometimes it's a little bit noisy during the night... but the rooms are clean, simply decorated and not too fancy that we like. We really appreciated our time there.

As a 18 yr. experienced travel agent, I find myself in a unique position of evaluating something I have no real expericence with. I am usually seeing and inspecting 4 and 5 star hotels and this was not. The gift cards used were a present from our son and it was our 45th anniversary but after sitting on the beds and not being able to decide which queen bed to sleep in as they were both very worn, we opted to go home rather than spend the night as we live about an hour away. The front desk was very helpful, the patio outside our room was lovely and I sat and read while my husband went to park the car and I found the bathroom clean. My rule is I do not sleep in a room that is not as nice as my own room at home and this one was very basic. So, we did not eat breakfast.
