The Parisian Courtyard Inn is one of the oldest buildings in New Orleans, built before Pontalba Apartments at Jackson Square in 1846 by Rufus Mcllhenny of the Tabasco family. The monolithic columns from the wrought iron balcony protect the stucco facade and 12-foot walk-thru windows. Enter the huge door to the great hall with double parlour and a sweeping six-foot circular staircase to the upstairs. Front and rear brick and slate courtyards with fountains provide a tranquil setting.
