3.4 out of 5wonderful B+B with a very nice garden
May 02, 2013
This B+B is about 1 mi. from Bourbon Street and in the nearer neighbouhood to Frenchmen Street. It´s in a quiet street and you can find always easy parking space for your car. It has a wonderful garden with a pool and a hot tub, relaxing chairs and towels for free to use. the rooms are nice and offer enough space. Internet is not available in the room, therefore you have to go to the pool or the kitchen. The breakfast buffet is in the main building and is self service. We felt safe at every day and nighttime.
4.4 out of 5Ed, the perfect innkeeper.
May 01, 2013
Ed was a quiet constant presence making sure morning breakfast was delightful. he also was very accommodating regarding our luggage and our travel schedule. The pools and grounds very inviting and made our trip much more enjoyable, especially coming home to a tropical paradise and dipping my feet in the pool after many long miles walking the french quarter!
5 out of 5My favorite pool and patio
April 29, 2013
The Lions Inn is a charming B&B with a beautiful pool enclosed within a tropical patio. When we weren't eating out or going to hear music, we spent most of our time outside on the patio, where we had both breakfast and happy hour (on the house). The inn is well located near the nightlife on Frenchmen's Street and within walking distance of the French Market and Jackson Square. The innkeeper is organized and thoughtful.

We stayed in one of the upstairs rooms while at KBIS. Ed was friendly and helpful. Being from NY his softspoken approach through me off. Helped with all we needed. The patio is just lovely and the coffee was good. Would stay there again any time.

4.2 out of 5Hidden gem in the Marigny
April 24, 2013
This really is a hidden gem. We have stayed here twice and had a great experience both times. Ed, the manager, is the sweetest man. I mentioned it was my partner's birthday and he had a cake waiting for us when we arrived. The rooms are spotless and the grounds are beautifully landscaped, plus the pool and hot tub are very clean and a nice retreat from the busy day. Each morning there is an extensive continental breakfast (coffee, yogurt, eggs, bagels etc.) and a wine and cheese social hour each day from 5-6. The place is quiet at night so even if you are a light sleeper there shouldn't be a problem. The Wi-Fi is free, it doesn't reach all the way to the back of the pool area but I just sat up front when I needed to use it. The neighborhood is a relatively quiet and safe artists community. Just 10 minutes walking to the Quarter but Lion's Inn provides free bikes if you need them. There are also several coffee shops, restaurants, and bars within a few minutes walking as well. Great location away from the crazy quarter but easy to get to. Be sure to check out Cake Cafe across the street, Bacchanal Wine in the Bywater and The Country Club (clothing optional resort) about a 15 minute walk down Chartres. We can't wait to come back and stay here again.
4.0 out of 5Good, but not perfect.
April 23, 2013
The room was immaculate, and very well set-up; the mattresses were a bit on the too-soft side, but that is a matter of taste. The proprietor was welcoming - and stayed up for a prearranged late arrival - but is somewhat aloof. We did think that the breakfast was very ordinary for a foodie city. Overall, a good experience.
3.2 out of 53 nights in New Orleans
April 22, 2013
We have spent 3 nights at Lions Inn B&B, everything was OK except a small problem in the toilets of the room, which has been rapidly solved by the owner. The wine and cheese at 5 PM was a nice moment, and for the breakfast we had everything we needed, and even more ! The location in Faubourg Marigny is very convenient, it takes about 20 minutes to reach the French Quarter and 10 minutes to Frenchmen Street where you can hear very good music. For visitors from Souchern Europe : be careful, after 8.30 PM you will not find any place for dinner in the surroundings ! We recommend this place.
4.6 out of 5Lovely place!
April 21, 2013
What a lovely place to stay!! The host, Ed, is very sweet and helped me a lot. The place is beautiful, pool/yard, you feel like home. Totally coming back the next time I'm in NOLA. You're gonna love it!
