I stayed 2 nights in the Sun Room that is separated from the other rooms so that one feels quite nicely secluded. It has a view of the back garden and pool and a private entrance. It was very spacious for one, clean and comfy. The bathroom is a couple of steps up and I found this arrangement a little awkward. Breakfast, which I only had once, was DIY toast, bagels, packaged yoghurt and fruit, entirely adequate but nothing special. I loved the neighborhood--lots of great places to eat and drink, lots of character and charm. All in all a pleasant stay.

I am so glad we found this lovely B&B to stay in in New Orleans. It is very close to the French Quarter and Frenchman Street, but far enough away for noise not to be a problem. The room was very comfortable and although the bathroom as not en suite it was just across the hall. There was a good range of stuff for a continental style breakfast and lovely outdoor space with a swimming pool and a hot tub. I was ill during my stay and the owner, Ed, could not have been more helpful or supportive, finding a local doctor and providing advice on pharmacies, clinics etc. He has an excellent, dedicated and intelligent staff who keep the place spotless. Unlike British B&Bs we had the run of the place 24/7 with our own keys for daytime and night-time use.

Lions Inn was a convenient location and excellent value. Bedroom was comfortable and quiet and bathroom was clean. Beautiful backyard retreat with a hot tub, pool, pond. Unfortunately when we were there it was too cold to enjoy the pool. Breakfast and wine and cheese hour left something to be desired. Breakfast options were Thomas bagels, eggs, cereal, toast. I was hoping with the bakery just down the street there would be some fresh pastries in the morning. Wine and cheese hour was Franzia and standard cheddar cheese and Ritz crackers. Don't get me wrong, it was nice to have, but I feel like if you're going to offer these things you should do it right. Overall I would definitely recommend Lions Inn because it's a great value and very convenient.

This place is in a wonderful location with a pretty garden. But everything about the decor, towels, service reeks f someone who is absolutely indifferent to the guests. Crappy towels, bikes in miserable condition, general unfriendliness. We spent half a day of our vacation walking a broken bike to get it fixed. Ungracious to the extreme. Towel not only frayed, but hole the size of a golf ball. A shame. Could be great.

I really enjoyed my stay at Lions Inn. It was quiet, affordable, safe, and a short walking distance to the French Quarter.

We were happy to find The Lions Inn listing on BedandBreakfast.com! We booked Room C. Larger than expected, clean, great bathroom and the house is in a perfect location to enjoy Cake Cafe, Feelings and The Friendly Bar! Great price too! Will definitely book here again!!

I loved staying at the Lion's Inn! As a female traveler on my own for a few days in New Orleans I was worried about finding a place for the right price, close to everything but not in middle of it all--this place is it! Ed was a great host--I had charming little room w/ shared bath, and a continental breakfast set-up every morning. It was cold when I was here so I did not get to use the pool, but in the warm weather it would be an awesome perk. The Lion's Inn is a few blocks from Frenchman's street--so easy to get home at night if you like to go listen to live music, eat or go to the art market. The French Quarter is about a 10-15 minute walk--I loved being able to easily walk over, but be able to come "home" to quiet place. I would definitely stay here again, traveling with friends or on my own.

Don't take my "average" comments as unflattering: I've stayed at Lions Inn before and remain pleased with the property. The innkeepers are consummate southern gentlemen, "happy hour" (wine and cheese 5pm to 6pm) is a nice way to start the night... and typically continues well past 6pm. My room was well-laid-out, comfortable bed and luggage storage. Didn't use the pool or hot-tub (the pool isn't heated; it's December) but their well-kept and completely convenient. Parking can be challenging in the neighborhood... until you get to their block, where poof! Always a spot. If you're looking for a hot breakfast (for example, I had to leave very early the last morning), there's a great breakfast spot at the next corner. So... give the place a try. You'll be back.
