This 1879 Victorian Mansion, located in the New Orleans French Quarter area, was selected by Forbes Magazine as one of “the country’s best B&Bs.” Enjoy the mansion's unique historic charm as you experience undisturbed privacy in the old world atmosphere of your room or suite, or relax in the peaceful, colorful Victorian Garden. The Lanaux Mansion has been featured on film & TV and in magazines; it was the setting for Brad Pitt in the movie “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." Across the street is the French Quarter, with endless entertainment including art galleries on Royal Street and more. Around the corner, big name musicians perform nightly at Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro. World-class cuisine and several dining choices are a stroll away.
This private cottage sits at the edge of the property and has direct access to the Victorian Garden. The cottage opens up to a private patio where you can sit and enjoy breakfast or afternoon refreshments–or just relax and take in the garden’s peaceful fountain and beautiful southern flora. Inside the cottage you’ll find a desk, a large kitchenette and two sitting areas: one near the kitchenette and one near the window, for a garden view.
Enjoy your stay in comfort, elegance and style in the Johnson Suite. Originally the mansion’s servants’ quarters, this 2nd floor suite features several separate rooms including a large sitting area with a writing desk. A small library on shelves house an extensive collection of literature. A shared balcony overlooks the colorful Victorian Garden. The bedroom features an antique four-piece Mallard rosewood bedroom suite. There’s an extra-large kitchenette with a full size sink plus eating area with table and chairs.*

The home is impeccably maintained, and our room was charming with antique furnishings. It was very comfortable. The location is ideal - away from the noise of Bourbon Street, yet close enough to walk. It's a couple of blocks from Frenchman Street, where there's great jazz. We loved our stay!
