A remarkable transformation and renovation has taken place here, where you literally step back in history into an 1860's Grand Inn with every comfort of the 21st century at hand. Our location, in the historic Faubourg Marigny section of New Orleans enables our guests to enjoy the close proximity of the French Quarter (only 5 blocks) and the Frenchman Street shops and restaurants

This is a lovely place not far from the action of the French Quarter. It is on a main road though, so be aware if you reserve a front room. We had the room with a king sized bed which was lovely and comfortable and quiet enough. The hosts are grey and very accommodating of food issues. The room and bathroom were extremely clean and well laid out. The food was very good, and we would stay here again if we went back to NOLA.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Elysian Fields Inn. It was close to Frenchman Street and the French Quarter yet a quiet haven to return to in the evening. The room was large and comfortable and the breakfasts were wonderful. Jim and Leigh were very friendly and helpful in giving ideas for dining and directions to all of the attractions that New Orleans had to offer.

Over the past 20 years, my college friends and I have been reuniting in various cities and eating our way through them. This year, our meeting place was New Orleans. We were so lucky to find The Elysian Fields Inn. Leigh and Jim were such warm and accommodating hosts. The Inn is within walking's distance to the French Quarter/French Market, but not directly in the middle of the craziness. This was ideal--as it was nice to escape the debauchery at the end of the night! The rooms were pleasant and clean and the breakfasts were great. Elysian Fields Ave. is a busy street, which made it that much easier to get in and out of the French Quarter. We also found parking for our rental car without difficulty. We realized how ideal all of this was when we arrived at the start of Mardi Gras and saw how crowded it became. We all said we would return to Elysian Fields Inn if we came back to New Orleans.

I had a room with a whirlpool tub. I say this first because New Orleans is a "walking city" and I can honestly say that nothing feels better after a walk around NOLA than a nice, hot, whirlpool bath!!! I've been to New Orleans many, MANY times, and this feature certainly sets this B&B apart from any other place I've stayed. (I'm surprised there wasn't a surcharge for the amount of amazing soaks I had during my three day stay!)

Leigh and Jim took great care of us. Hope to stay with them again soon!
