This place is authentic New Orleans. If you're looking for a cookie-cutter, sterile hotel room or a cutesy b&b, this is not it. The rooms and lounge are decorated with stately antique furnishings. Our room opened out on to the balcony that wraps the building where we could have our coffee. The bed was very comfortable. We hope to be back!

This was my third visit to the Balcony Guesthouse and it was just as wonderful as I remembered it to be. Fantastic service and cozy rooms, within walking distance to Frenchmen and Mimi's and the Mardi Gras Market is right around the corner if you forgot anything. The food downstairs is delicious, try the friench toast! Thank you for making my stay memorable, we will see you next year! Sincerely, Rosemary Smith

We have been trying to stay at Balcony Guesthouse for a while and were so excited it finally worked out. Immediately upon arrival, we felt like we were with family. From the staff to the other guests, everyone knew our names and took care of us. Anytime we needed anything, Zach (owner) was always there to help with a smile on his face- even after hours! I recommend this to anyone who wants a local New Orleans experience and something that has a relaxed atmosphere. We will return!!

I love Schrios Balcony Guesthouse I stay here every year. Zak, Naz, and the staff are amazing! They always make me feel like family-come-to-visit! The food, service, rooms, atmosphere, and convenience cannot be beat! Security code required to enter room area. Restaurant and mini-grocery are just downstairs. Spanish Tapas restaurant, Mimi's, one block away. French Quarter a few blocks away. So nice and so convenient! I will be back in November!

We really enjoy staying at the BalconyGuesthouse. We have been to New Orleans many times and the BalconyGuesthouse is the only B & B we have stayed at. Its walking distance to the French Quarters about one mile. Parking is available on the side streets. Breakfast, lunch or dinner is great.

Had a really great stay at the Balcony Guesthouse (May 2014) for our 3 nights in New Orleans at the end of a 3 week American road trip. The staff were the friendliest and most helpful we encountered anywhere and they even kindly let us do some laundry before we flew to visit friends in NYC. The room we had was simple but very cute and the balcony is a great place to relax with a beer in the evening before you head out. Location is perfect, a short walk from Frenchman St but far enough away that it's peaceful at night. Felt very safe walking home each night and we were able to park right outside too which was a bonus. The bed we had was VERY squeaky. I think there might have been other coments about the squeaking... You couldn't really roll over in the night without making it squeak a lot so that was a little annoying but it wouldnt put me off staying here again. I'd just maybe not ask for that room (Room 2 I think?) or would suggest they get someone in to tighten up the bed frame (it is a beautiful antique!) so that it doesnt do that. But overall it was fab and I am so so glad we chose to stay here and not in any of the very expensive places we saw on airbnb as they looked much less nice than this and it's very helpful to have locals to ask for advice and having the bar/cafe downstairs meant that there was a nice buzzy atmosphere to the place. Would definately stay again when we return t NOLA.

Went the day after a busy Jazz Fest weekend. Had a little trouble checking in since the room was not ready due to a full house the night before but they were very appologetic and accommodating. Overall, good room and would stay there again.
