Tanis was a wonderful host, the house was beautiful. We went for a weekend romantic getaway and that is exactly what we got. The room was spacious and very well decorated. We loved every minute and we were a little sad to leave! We look forward to returning soon!!!

Booked a room at the last minute while in Lake Charles. I called the B&B directly and talked to the owner Tanis - she's SO nice and bubbly. She met us on the expansive porch as we drove up with the sweetest smile and big "Hello". It certainly made us feel welcome immediately. The house itself (C.A.'s House) is absolutely gorgeous. It reminds me of a family friend's old plantation home. It is SO tastefully decorated in ALL of the rooms. The bedrooms are absolutely beautiful. I think Tanis is always redecorating. All rooms are elegant and inviting. We stayed in "Room 3", but I also saw the other rooms, and all are great. Tanis is a very interesting person with which to talk. She and her husband are tackling another large historic old home one block away to either sell or open another B&B when they are finished renovating it. It will be a lovely B&B too if that is what they do with it ultimately. Our room at C.A.'s House was very large and so beautiful. I didn't want to leave !!!!!! Our room also contained a large sofa, loveseat and coffee table. There's a flat screen TV with DVD player in the room, and there is a large selection of DVDs to choose from if one wishes. There is also a pool and hot tub on the property that guests can use. I only wish that I could have tried the breakfast. At this time, breakfast is only served on the weekends, and we were there during the week. I heard from other guests that it is fabulous. The lady who cooks breakfast also speaks French, and I would have loved for my husband to have been able to speak with her. Tanis is very helpful with suggestions on places to eat. We went to 2 of the places she suggested, and both were great. We brought in breakfast from a bakery she suggested, and ate in the gardens in the back of the home - lovely. There are two large rockers on the porch that I plan to rock in upon my return - hopefully some time soon.

This is our second visit to this place, and I think I'm in love. This house is absolutely gorgeous. Words cannot describe. You need to see it to appreciate it. It is sooooo clean and peaceful. We use this as our getaway place. The people in this town are so friendly and helpful. I reccomend anyone to visit here. It is like a home away from home. No worries, no stress......... Unbelievable!
