My boyfriend and I stayed in the meadow cabin for three nights. It was the most relaxing and fulfilling vacation I have ever had. The surrounding forest is beautiful. We had a swim in the river and laid out on the sandbar to catch some sun. We barbecued outside and sat on the porch swing. We bathed in the amazing outdoor shower. We made fires on the deck at the pond every night and saw fireflies. It rained for two full days but that just added magic to the experience. We will definitely be going back to this amazing place

My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of being David's guests at Little Rive Bluffs over the New Year's weekend. We were "first timers" coming from New Orleans and stayed at the Lodge House. I cannot say enough about the property, setting, and service that Little River Bluffs has to offer. We are already planning our next trip back. The property was immaculately clean. The master bedroom was such a romantic setting, huge windows, a fireplace, and an entrance onto the balcony that wraps around to the other side of the building. We watched fireflies from our bed the first evening, and in the morning both woke with a gasp at how beautiful everything looked from our spot in the comfy bed (we'd arrived when it was dark out the night prior). David had everything ready for us, the heater on and the lights lit up for when we arrived. Following the maps provided and discovering all the little hidden trails was so much fun. We had breakfast at Tom's Point and enjoyed our peaceful view and just time to "be". We really had a weekend to just detach, sip cocoa under a patchwork quilt, and toast to the New Year in the private hot tub. We both absolutely fell in love with both the lodge house and Little River Bluffs and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for their own little piece of heave on earth.

The retreat is a magical place. As you enter the gates with the beautiful fountain and drive up to your cozy Chalet cabin, everything is serene, green and relaxing. The road to get to the cabin is a bit tricky, but don't give up. Once your there you open the doors to a cabin with a huge jacuzzi tub, glass windows that see all of nature and yummy home bread at the table. Breakfast for you to help your self for a couple days in in the refrigerator with delicious juice and well water from the land. The deck out back is great for Yoga, Tai Chi, Qui gong and Meditation. The pathways through the land will bring out the adventurous kid in you. The pond is great for kayaking too! Birds are singing in the morning. A great place to just relax and get away from all technology and stresses of life these days. A place you can be thankful for. Even though to some folks the place may be close, it still seems like it is far away....from a distant land. A place to come back to again and again.

Very clean and roomy cabin situated in the woods nearby a pond and creek. Games such as croquet and horse shoes were provided, as was breakfast food. Full kitchen, great porch and charcoal grill. Also less than an hour from New Orleans. Easy to drive up for the weekend.

We enjoyed our stay at LRB. The cabin is so beautiful; The sceened-in porch did not disappoint. We were able to cook all of the meals that we brougnt along with us. We also enjoyed the ride to the little village of Folsom. You must stop by Gene's country store for crawfish boudin and also Hot Tamale Mama. The gumbo and beef tamales are wonderful! Don't forget to sit out on the porch at night and enjoy the lighting bug show. David also provides some home made bread for every guest, and it is delicious. The pond is so relaxing and beautiful. The trails are well maintained if you are up for a walk. I would recommend LRB with pleasure.
Thank you very much. We love the fact nearly 80% of our guests are "repeats" and some have retreated here many times over the years....and still keep coming! We love it.
