Country Charm Bed and Breakfast

This was the perfect place for my wedding, the natural scenery was georgous and Eric and Gloria were extreamly helpful. The pictures on the web site only particially capture the true beauty of the place. My photographer had to tell me when to stop taking pictures, and we all (my husband and I, the kids, my parents and in laws) loved the weekend stay. It was the perfect ending to the happiest day of my life, and we can not wait to go back.

Country Charm aptly advertises itself as a “haven”: at the end of a private lane, well back from the highway, and on spacious shaded grounds, it offers peace and privacy. The property comprises three buildings (two rentals and the owner’s residence). Lakeside Cottage is just past the owner’s residence. There is a large lawn area behind and to the side of the cottage, down to the pond’s edge (it’s more of a pond than a lake, but still very nice). Lakeside Cottage consists of a living/dining area, a small kitchen, two average-sized bedrooms, a bathroom with tub/shower, a closet with a washer and dryer, and a separate Jacuzzi room behind the kitchen. I would describe the overall décor and furniture as “comfortable” rather than “luxurious.” The cottage was extremely clean. Upon entering there was soft music playing. We were there in the heat of the summer and with the AC on, the cottage was quite comfortable. The owners provided a few items for breakfast (fruit, raisin bread, cold cereal) but for those who intend to cook, you will need to do a grocery shop, as the kitchen was very sparsely stocked (e.g., there was no milk, eggs, butter, or jam). There is also a bar-b-q area down by the boat dock. The Lakeside Cottage is a welcome alternative to a motel or a traditional B&B. The owners are attentive yet unobtrusive (just be ready for a friendly small dog who eagerly greets the visitors).

A blazing fire under the stars at lake's edge, barred owls that guarded over us from atop the ancient oak trees, blissful quiet, pleasant spacious cottage, delightful innkeepers, and the friendliest dog, Pippin, who eagerly welcomed us touring us around the grounds all the time protecting us from the dread white duck. We highly recommend Eric and Gloria's bed and breakfast.

Picked up a friend from Nova Scotia in Lafayette and took him to this place. He loves nature, as do we, but this place exceeded our expectations. It was so relaxing, beautiful, and peaceful. Husband and I are going back for 2-3 days. Eric was so kind and accomadating.

Spent some time with grandson in South. The best B&B to stay at is Country Charm. Without a doubt it should be your first choice.

How can I tell you, it must be tested. Have been here several times and always come back. Why ... it's just like being back in the good old days, super sweet owner who is always ready to help with what there is to see and where to go. Country Charm itself is incredibly well maintained and has its own charm, here you can sail on the lake, enjoy the wonderful animal life, catching his own fish and cook on the grill. and enjoy the delicious breakfast food will be provided at the door by the owner.

I spent Valentine's Day at Country Charm with my girlfriend. It was the perfect getaway. Great place to spend time with people close to you. The people were great and the scenery was amazing. The room was very clean and it had everything we needed. It was priced very well. I plan on returning, the only bad part about my stay was leaving.

Everything from the comfortable room overlooking the private lake to the hospitality of the Innkeepers was absolutely wonderful. We brought our 1 year-old son who thouroughly enjoyed playing with Pippen (the innkeeper's dog) and feeding the ducks. We will definitely be back; we plan to make this an annual retreat.

This is a beautiful, fascinating property. Our only complaints were the weather (too hot)! You probably can't fix that problem.

My boyfriend brought me here for our one year. It was so perfect. We actually learned more about each other being alone out here. It's beautiful, the lake is great. But over all the bed was like sleeping on air.

Peaceful surroundings, gracious hosts, outstanding breakfasts!

Our three day stay was relaxing and stimulating at the same time. Breakfasts were delicious, accommodations very comfortable, and the grounds beautifully maintained. This place can't be beat!

Nice cabins set in a gorgeous property with huge live oaks. Breakfast delivered to your room. We plan to return.

From the moment my wife and I stepped out of the car we could feel it. The stress and chaos of the world disappeared leaving only peace and quiet and beautiful birdsong. So many wonderful things come to mind but in one word "Wonderful". Eric and Gloria, the grounds, the experience, and their well mannered and sweet little puppy were perfect. We look forward to returning! What a merry christmas gift from our son in Denver.

My wife and I were looking for a nice, quiet weekend away. Country Charm was the perfect retreat for us! From the plush bed, to the hot breakfast at our door- Eric and Gloria treated us like royalty! We will be back!

This is the most relaxing stay that my wife and I have ever had. We stayed for the first time about a year ago and it was great. Upon arrival there is music playing and the cottages are just so peaceful. Our first night there we cook outside by the lake with a bondfire. (there is nothing like a steak cooked outside on an open pit.) It is the most relaxing and peaceful place for a gret get away we have ever had. We are planning to spend our vacation there evry year.

This B&B is quiet and peaceful. The lake is beautiful and the Precious Past Suite was comfortable. You can walk by the lake with the ducks or sit in the suspended swing at the end of the pier. Good food is a 10 minute drive. The gourmet breakfast was delicious. Eric and Gloria are gracious and friendly hosts. We are already looking forward to our next visit there.

My husband took me here for my birthday weekend and we had a great time. We also stayed in the Barn Loft Suite and as someone else said Eric has fresh flowers and the music playing, also there was cold water in the frig and snacks. We did some fishing on the lake and it was so quiet and peaceful. We also took advantage of the bar-b-que pit and grilled some hot dogs and then lit a fire in the fire bowl and it was a great night. The room was great and the bed was heaven. We both slept very well and enjoyed our coffee and tea on the balcony while looking out onto the lake. We can't wait to go back and bring some family with us. Thanks to Eric and Gloria. You are a great example of southern hospitality.

We walked into the Barn Loft and found fresh flowers and music playing softly in the background. That was just the beginning of a wonderful weekend. Eric took care of everything, from snacks and bottled water in the room to even bringing us an umbrella to stay dry. The room was very comfortable and the grounds very well kept. Just before we left Eric took us out to feed the ducks, it was a lot of fun. We would highly recommend Country Charm to anyone seeking a romantic getaway, and we will be coming back soon!

Thanks to Eric & Gloria, i had the best weekend getaway i could imagine. It was sooo much more than i had bargained for, and i would come back in an instant. The keepers are some of the nicest people you could meet, and by the time you leave you will feel like you gained some amazing friends. The Barn Loft was 3x better than the pictures show, it is very cozy, very relaxing, and if you are like myself, I spent just as much time on the balcony as I did in the room. The loft is very spacious, and feels like a home away from home.. Eric is very good at finding exactly what you are looking for when it comes to the local scenery and list of things to do, just give him and idea of what you are looking for, and he can point you in 3 different directions all being just as much fun as the other.. sincerely, Cole Shreveport, La. & Stine Odense, Danmark p.s. This place is truly amazing and it is a great place to get away from daily stress. The settings are beautiful and very relaxing. We lived in the Barnyard Loft Suite which is absolutely, all-around gorgeous and we enjoyed a romantic weekend get-away. The hosts are so friendly and they give you a warm welcome. We highly recommend this B&B to anyone. We had the best time ever....

Nestled under 200+ year old live oaks are cabins on a beautiful little 6 acre lake. From the hawks nesting in the top of one of the oaks to the owls reporting in the early evening, it was the epitome of beauty and relaxation. About 10 miles northeast of Lafayette, if you really want a city atmosphere it is easy to get to. Wonderful local restaurants with lots of excellent food and cajun color. The "famous" stuffed strawberry french toast is "to die for" served at breakfast. Comfortable beds, beautiful scenery, great hosts. It was the first time in ages that I actually slept past 8:30am. Fantasic getaway. Most highly recommended.

Country Charm is the choicest B&B we've ever stayed at and we've been there many times. The inkeepers are friendly and informed about Cajun Country. The physical comforts are numerous AND the breakfasts are to die for AND the Lord resides at this wonderful place. Check out this one.
