Old Fashioned Waffles

Ingredients

  • 2 cup flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons butter

  1. Separate egg whites and yolks in separate bowls. Beat egg whites with a hand mixer until stiff but not dry. Set aside beaten whites.
  2. In a separate bowl beat eggs yolks until thick and creamy. Continue beating while adding milk.
  3. Mix together dry ingredients and add gradually to egg/milk mixture. Beat until smooth
  4. Fold in egg whites and melted butter
  5. Heat waffle irons and add 1/2 cup of batter and cook for 3 minutes or as directed by your waffle iron. Always perfect and fluffy. Enjoy with warm maple syrup, fresh fruit and freshly whipped cream.
