Suite Oriani was the perfect stay in Rome. It was located in a quiet part of Rome, a residential area, but only 5 minutes from the metro station. We had a beautiful room on the first floor with a gorgeous balcony. Our host met us when we arrived and provided a good map of the local area, restaurants, and showed us how to get around easily. Our breakfast was delightful, and we enjoyed it every morning overlooking our balcony. We could walk in the neighborhood at night in complete safety, and we could go to the area restaurants and feel just like locals! Suite Oriani was perfect in every way--especially the price. We would come back and we have already recommended it to our friends.

I took my father to Italy. This was a wonderful B&B. The driver collected my father at the airport without any difficulties. The hotel was near taxi stand and many restaurants. The only problem, Dad likes his coffee and there was only one cup provided in the morning - so he was a bit testy by the time we headed into town to get more java. The room cable even had the Military channel. The hotel even borrowed to us a cell phone. Very very nice. I warmly recommend this hotel.

This place is tucked away in the lovely Villa Borghese neighborhood of Rome, a little away from the crowded touristy areas, but a very short metro ride away from major monuments. Suite Oriani exudes the wonderful charm and beauty of an Italian villa, and beats the stay in a canned, brand name hotel hands down, any day. The three-storey villa with its gated entrance is impressive, like its neighboring homes, and the marbled entry way is stunning. The neighborhood is residential and had a nice and safe feel to it. We were greeted at the door by the owner's daughter, the main inn keeper and were told that our rooms would be ready within an hour. We wandered around a bit and came back, and were promptly escorted to our room. The room was large and well appointed with beautiful antique furnishings. The bathroom is smallish, and the shower is miniscule, but that is expected in Europe for the most part. It was clean and had basic amenities. The owner of the villa--a gentleman in his 60s or 70s--is wonderful and warm-hearted and keen to help in every way. Our only bone of contention was the service in that the maid was fastidious about things--be careful about this hand woven blanket, no sleeping on it, won't allow you to use an iron in the room due to the fear of burning linens, etc. I'd be cautious as well I guess, if I had a beautiful home, but the attitude took away a bit from the experience, but not that much that we'd give it a bad review. Also, the breakfast was lousy--not worth mentioning the cafe latte and the sad-looking croissant. The lady owner (daughter of the house) was nice, although nothing to beat the nice old gentleman of the house. All in all, very nice place where you are likely to get an authentic Italian vibe in the glorious city of Rome.
