This Lower Garden District property worked very well for our casual approach, and we would definitely go back. There was no breakfast service, rather full access to the fully equipped kitchen, and supplies from which to prepare our own continental breakfast - a good approach for us.

    Nothing special

The place was nice but the neighborhood isn't the best, at all! &the breakfast consisted of a bowl of fruit & 2 boxes of cereal. The room was clean& Its about 7 miles or so from the French quarter which was the best thing about the room. Over priced in my opinion

There was plenty of food, but nothing special about it. It was nice that we were able to serve ourselves.

Our group came to New Orleans for a conference being held at the convention center in May 2011. The location was great with easy access to the restaurants and bars on Magazine St. Transportation downtown was easy and convenient; bus on Magazine and street car on St. Charles. Everyone found the location secure and we had no issues walking where ever we needed. The rooms were very nice, and the unit was very spacious. Juanita was very helpful and made sure we had everything we could need (or want). Look forward to returning.

Once everyone knows about The Duchess, it will be hard to get a room! The Duchess is amazing and Juanita goes the extra mile to make sure guests are comfortable. We loved staying there because the location is slightly off the beat and path, but close enough to everything - the street car, Magazine Street (good food and shopping), the old houses.
