Tom Collins and Chuck Woodall were most accomodating. My entire family and I enjoyed our three day stay very much. Ilse Heintzen

My daughter and I were in N.O. for the Crescent City Classic Run. Normally we stay at hotels in the Quarter, but I thought it would be a nice experience for her to stay at a B&B. Chuck met us at the door and showed us the ropes. The house was absolutely gorgeous and Tom and Chuck had put quite a lot of thought and money into renovating and decorating the house and it was chock full of beautiful antiques. The neighborhood was pleasant and we felt safe walking home from the French Quarter at night. I was hoping for an experience where we would sit down for a breakfast and chat with the owners and the other guests. The breakfast was set out on a table and consisted of coffee, juice, fruit and wal-mart muffins and croissants.

We can't say enough about Collinwood House. It exceeded our expectations in every way. Tom was extremely friendly and helpful and made suggestions for places to eat in the neighborhood. His collection of art and furnishings are amazing. This is a perfect place to stay away from the commotion of the Quarter but still a short walk away. And Frenchman Street just around the corner is a funky alternative to busier places inside the Quarter. We'll be back! Jeff Nashville

This quiet B&B is well located for jazz fond people (Frenchman street). Antiques are thought out the house, a grand piano stands in the seating room and a small garden/ patio is quite pleasant for the simple breakfast we have had.

Friendly owner, lovely house, but we did have to wait 6 hours for a call back on the day we arrived and could not check in early as no one was there.

We were all incredibly pleased with the house. It is simply beautiful with the nicest decor I've seen in a bed and breakfast. It is full of personal treasures. The location is great, away from the chaos of the French Quarter, but within a reasonable walk. Very close to the great music and vibe of the Marigny.

It was a fantastic weekend. We love New Orleans and found this fantastic Bed and Breakfast in the Marigny Area. It is a great neighborhood, quiet, with a lovely cafe right around the corner (Who Dat Coffee Cafe), great rooms, and wonderful hosts. We couldn't have asked for better. It felt like a house, we had access to the kitchen and the fridge. There was a wine cooler ready to pup our wine bottles into. The hosts were very knoweledgable about the area. Don't forget to check out MiMi's nearby with DJ Soul Sister on Saturday night! I would highly recommend a stay here. With that said! Always book a 3 day weekend at the least! You really can't enjoy the area any other way!

The house is located in a good, safe neighborhood. Parking is limited. I was disappointed that beakfast was not available until 9 am the morning we left. I hope this was a fluke due to unavoidable circumstances. Owners were friendly and helpful.

Great little place in a good location. Walking distance to the french quarter (if you're young and able anyway like we are) about a mile or so to the heart of the french quarter with great dining, music, and bars only a few blocks away. Mimi's is a great place to dance to funk on saturday nights with DJ soul sister. The rooms are even nicer than they appear in pictures. Breakfast is continental with an assortment of fruits and other yummy breakfast foods. If you want a little more to eat there are several coffee shops and bakeries only a block or two away. "Who dat" cafe and "the orange couch" are just down the street. Ask the helpful owners for recommendations on places to eat or visit. They know of a lot of great things to do and see in the area. There are also there to assist with any issues you may encounter. I woke up sick on my wedding day and they went out of their way to try to help me feel better. It was so nice. What a great place to spend our wedding night and honeymoon!

Beautiful house, magnificent decor, owners very helpful. Made us feel as it was our own home. Conveniently located, 10 min. walk to the French Quarter. Close to Frenchmen street. We walked every evening, very safe and quiet neighborhood.

While planning my first trip to New Orleans, I came across the Collinwood House and, after reading the reviews and looking at the pictures, I was sold on it. I want wanted to stay somewhere that had character, charm, and that captured the essence of the city. Part of the fun in traveling is finding out who you are in a new envirnment and a generic hotel is not conducive to that. The Collinwood House exceeded my expectation in every way. Tom and Chuck were warm and welcoming hosts and I was fortunate enough to hear the stories behind the wonderful art, mementos, and antiques that grace the house. The thought and details that have gone into this house are exquisite.

Staying at the Collinwood House made our trip complete. We were giving insite on places to drink, eat and play. We were made to feel invited and comfortable right from the start.

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at Collinwood House on our way to a conference. We chose to stay in the Continental Room, which we heard, "was the nicest room in the house." It was beautiful. The hotel does not have a sign out front like some of the other inns, but the purple facade was an excellent eye-catcher! The Continental Room has the front-facing balcony with a beautiful window and shutters. The room has wonderful characteristics, including samples of dinner plates owned by Napoleon that just add to the ambiance! The price was a much better value than many other inns in the are as well. And you must see the award-winning double parlor, which is very impressive! Tom was an excellent host, from our arrival to our departure and was very accommodating. We cannot wait to go back!

This place is a bargain and it's in the perfect location--you are right in the middle of the marigny, with its great restaurants and bars, and only a short walk to the quarter. The house is beautiful and our room was completely gorgeous. Our hosts were very friendly and gracious. Highly recommended!

The Collinwood House is a delightful place to stay during your stay in New Orleans. It is a peaceful sanctuary amongst the city with its lush garden and water fountain. Tom and Chuck are wonderful hosts - friendly and helpful. Definitely stay here!

The photo album does not do it justice! Every detail was covered. I have stayed at many B&B's and this one is really too good to be true. We stayed in the Shogun room. When I saw it on the web, I thought it was going to be campy. Quite the opposite! Chuck and Tom the innkeepers were the icing on the cake. I plan to return whenever I come to town.

I look very forward to staying in the Collinwood House in the VERY near future. We booked a stay at this house and were looking very forward to it. However, at the last minute, we had to cancel due to family reasons. Chuck, the house owner, was very understanding and professional. They will have our business many more times in the future I'm sure!
