Canal Street Inn (circa 1912), a beautifully restored Neo-Classical style villa, is nestled under centuries-old live oaks on world-famous Canal Street, just a short streetcar ride from the French Quarter. In fact, we are right on the streetcar line – with direct access to St Charles Avenue, the Garden District, the Mississippi Riverfront and City Park. The bed and breakfast is abundantly, yet tastefully furnished with antiques from around the world, family heirlooms, ancestral photographs, and artifacts either left by former residents or collected by your hosts from their travels. All six guestrooms are furnished with antiques and reproductions along with queen and king size beds, private baths (some with whirlpool tubs), telephones with voice mail, wireless internet access, and cable TV. The house is surrounded by gardens on all sides. The ancient live oak trees literally embrace the house, their branches swooping almost to the ground. The lush tropical foliage is interspersed with bright colorful flowers of each season. The sunken patio is the perfect place to enjoy a good book and a glass of wine as you watch streetcars lazily amble up and down Canal Street.

    Great NOLA Stay !!

    May 10, 2013

Three of us ladies were on a road trip to New Orleans and enjoyed every moment of our stay at the Canal Street Inn. Monica, theresa and Dawn were friendly, helpful and showed just perfect southern hospitality. Should we ever get to the Big Easy again there's no doubt where we would stay !! And, we do highly reccomend the Inn to anyone going there.

    Canal Street Inn

    April 22, 2013

This relaxing B&B is a very convenient 15-20 minute street car ride from all the action in the French quarter. We were happy to stay in a quieter area, and since the street car stop is directly in front of the inn, we could still come back mid day to change for dinner and rest without feeling like we were wasting site seeing time. The inn really enhanced our trip. Monica is a wonderful cook, and breakfast was prompt and delicious. Full of old charm, my husband and I really enjoyed reading in the parlor or on the front porch. Our room, street car #1, was very spacious with a huge bathroom and walk in shower. We will definitely stay here again if we make it back to New Orleans.

Romantic Anniversary Getaway in New Orleans

    April 18, 2013

Close enough to downtown to walk, but far enough away to enloy quiet romance. Option we chose was a studio apartment above the Canal ST Bistro, Management was accomodating and respectful, Bistro was extraordinary in both fare and friendliness. Room was quaint, functional, private and romantc. Trolley stop right out front 20 min to the waterfront, french quarter, transfer to the garden district. We chose often to walk because of safe neighborhood, friendly locals, great restaurants and bistros within 10-20 min walk. Highly recommended! You won't be disappointed.

Canal St. Inn spring break stay

    March 17, 2013

This B&B is a great value when compared to the hotels in New Orleans. It is conveniently located across from the Canal streetcar line. Owner (Monica) displays the best of Southern and Ecuadoran hospitality. I will book a room again next trip to the Crescent City!

    Innkeeper Response
I'm glad you were able to enjoy your spring break in the Crescent City. See you again!
