Please note: We have limited availability all weekends in December and are fully booked the first (Dec 4-5) and remember that the Festival of Lights lasts throughout December.

Located a block and a half from where Washington becomes Front Street, our Arts and Crafts bungalow is an easy stroll to shops, restaurants, and all major downtown and riverfront events, so no parking worries when you stay with us.

Our two in-house guest rooms and exterior cottage each has private bath and comfortable queen-size Select Comfort bed. The cottage is outfitted as a small apartment style living space for individuals who might need an extended stay. High speed wireless internet service is provided free of charge.

Jim Metcalf is the "chef de cuisine" and provides an excellent breakfast using only fresh local ingredients (The newly prepared, property grown, muscadine grape jelly was a hit this morning).

From I-20 E follow signs for I-49 S/Alexandria and merge onto I-49 S and go 68.5 mi, taking exit 138 for LA-6 E proceed 0.2 mi. Turn left at LA-6 E and go east for 3.5 mi to where it becomes University Pkwy. Continue east for 1.1 mi. Turn left at Jefferson Street stop light and go 1 mi, the street will turn into a brick surface during a short part of this journey, this is Front Street, and you will continue on after the street turns back to asphalt (now Washington Street) and Chez des Amis will be on the left, second house past Pavie Street.

Our signature dish is Curried Egg
Toasted English muffin half with slice of smoked ham topped with a perfect poached egg bathing in a lightly curried béchamel sauce. This is accompanied by the other half of the buttered and toasted English muffin and the fresh homemade jam or jelly of the day.

Cancellations:
If it becomes necessary to cancel your reservations, we must receive notice more than one week before your scheduled arrival. A $25 cancellation fee will be charged to your card. Cancellation notices received any later will result in the full amount of the reservation being charged to your credit card. This amount is not refundable. There are no refunds for departure earlier than scheduled.
