Pontchartrain Winds

  • Inn Details

Independently owned and operated, Pontchartrain Winds Guest Cottages are located in Old Mandeville Louisiana. Pontchartrain Winds offer travelers a comfortable, enjoyable, and restful stay whether for business or pleasure. Totally renovated after Hurricane Katrina, the 1920's era cottages include a part of the past with all the modern amenities. Pontchartrain Winds is a short walk to many area attractions, including shops and restaurants. The Trailhead, located two blocks from the cottages, offers bikers and nature enthusiasts a safe way to experience Mandeville's scenery and wildlife. The more adventurous may choose to book a sailing cruise on beautiful Lake Pontchartrain or grab their reel and rod in hopes of catching fish off the lake's shore. Those looking to relax might read a book on the front porch or take a nap in the hammock. Whatever your pleasure, Ponchartrain Winds proprietors Ed and Kellie Greene will greet you with a smile and help you get the most out of your stay. The owners are currently working on the main house built circa 1890. Scheduled to open in 2013, the main house will include 4 bedrooms and parlors for private parties.

We stayed at the Pontchartrain Winds on August 6-8. These cottages are located in the heart of historic Mandeville within walking distance of Lake Pontchartrain and several wonderful restaurants and attractions. The cottage we stayed in was very comfortable and the innkeeper was very hospitable. Our 2 small dogs were welcomed as one of the cottages is petfriendly. The cottage is also only a couple of blocks from Tammany Trace, a great Rails-to-Trails bike path. We enjoyed our stay and hope to go back in the future.
