4.4 out of 5Early Nineteenth Century Charm, Twenty-First Comfort
June 14, 2013
Early nineteenth century charm, twenty-first comfort, Loyd Hall Plantation Bed & Breakfast in Cheneyville, Louisiana offers superior accommodations with the epitome of Southern charm. The plantation and grounds are lovingly and thoughtfully restored to create the inviting ambiance of past splendor and elegance. Rooms are appointed in period antiques and are reminiscent of a bygone era. The rooms also feature modern baths with private vanities. Indeed, every detail is attended to, and breakfast will make those who love country cooking and Southern hospitality smile.
4.0 out of 5Wedding Night
June 06, 2013
We chose to spend our wedding night at Loyd Hall Plantation because of its historical status and proximity to our wedding. We had no problems finding the plantation or our room once we got there. Being the only couple there for breakfast the next morning, we got a tour of the plantation which included a view of the other rooms the plantation had to offer. The history was very interesting and our guide, who has worked on the plantation for 40 years, was very knowledgable. Our room, the Jenkins Suite was very gorgeous, clean, and had a good mix of the old with modern conviences. My husband and I look forward to making another trip out there some day.
4.4 out of 5Good service but fake location

Be aware when you book in this property that some of the room are very far from the main house ! We sleep in the 7 people cottage that was at 5/10m of car from the main residence, nothing was indicate on the website, it was a very bad surprise. Expect this, the cottage was pretty nice, clean, and comfort. The manager was also very helpful, kind, and interesting. We would like to recommend this B&B but check the location of your reservation before!

4.0 out of 5Peace and Quiet

The little cottages are nice and clean, and you will be staying out in the country! Nothing like waking up to animals out in the pasture. The breakfast is a wonderful southern country breakfast. We love staying at places off the beaten path.
4.6 out of 5Can't wait to go back!
April 05, 2013
We had an amazing time at Loyd Hall. The rooms were incredible, the staff was very helpful, charming and knowledgeable about the plantation's rich history, the breakfast was amazing(I didn't like grits until I had them here!) and throw in a few ghosts to boot! We would go back in a heartbeat.
4.8 out of 5great B&B!!
April 04, 2013
My husband & I wanted a quick, local get-away and were interested in a B&B. I knew about Loyd Hall, but had never visited, so I found Loyd Hall online and made reservatons for the Jenkins suite in the mansion. We were so thrilled with the gorgeous renovations, the exquisite furnishings and the attention to historic detail. The 3 cottages located on the grounds were rented out to different families, but we barley noticed each other! The peace and quiet was just what we needed and everything was so comfortable. The lazy Bayou Boeuf flows in front of the masion, which completed the beautiful setting. Beulah cooked a great country breakfast and entertained us with the history of Loyd Hall, even telling us about her "other worldly" visitations. Unfortunately, we didn't experience any ghosts! But maybe we'll get lucky next time because we will be back for more visits! We love this place!
4.2 out of 5Lovely and well kept
March 12, 2013
The cottage was charming - the whole property is charming!! The fireplace in the room was awesome. The breakfast was very ordinary and the taste was marginal. My suggestion would be to improve the taste and possibly add some flair with some local Louisiana cooking/additions. Interesting jellies or something to make it "special" for the guests.
