A wonderful place to stay and a great value. This is a beautiful home and the grounds are like a park. Great place to relax and a good location in Baton Rouge. I only had breakfast one morning, but it was excellent. And the owners are very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely stay again if it is available.

A true B n B that is better than some 4 star hotels. Full service breakfast. Well appointed rooms. Great historic building without the old house smell or squeaky floors. Huge rooms and nice gathering living area for relaxing. Convenient location, yet feels secluded. Great eating establishments at short distance. As nice as some Wine country, New England or New York B n Bs at$350.00 or up.

My husband and I were in Baton Rouge visiting our daughter. We had originally planned to check in around 3, but arrived in town earlier than expected and my daughter wanted to take us on an outing that had a specific time frame. I gave the innkeeper, Janice, a call. She was very gracious and allowed us to stop by and pick up a key and leave our vehicle on the premises. When we returned, she greeted us with a tour and a glass of delicious wine. The room (blue) was gorgeous and we loved having coffee on the balcony the next morning as the sun came up. Breakfast was a treat with delightful conversation with Janice and other guests. We will be back for sure. Shelli and David Edwards Wallisville, Texas

This is the second time our groups have stayed at The Stockade. Each time the personal treatment, amazing breakfast and comfortable rooms are a highlight for our tour group. We arrive pretty tired after a long bike ride and it is nice to be able to walk in and get comfortable right away. Every one of our guests this time rated this night as the best night of sleep they had and everyone also loved the rooms and breakfast. Thanks again! Beer & Bike Tours

The Stockade Bed and Breakfast was absolutely lovely. From the moment my husband and I walked in until we left, we felt at home and relaxed. This was our first experience at staying in a B & B, but it will not be our last. We have already recommended this place to family and friends. We met wonderful people and made treasured memories.

I am a physician in Austin, Texas and come to BR twice a year for meetings for the college of science. I stay here every time! (except once when it was full I was sad). Janice is a pleasure to be around and makes the greatest breakfast ever. Rooms are comfortable, the entire place is quiet and cozy. Very nice to be able to use the gym across the street as well. Anyone I know that travels to BR gets The stockade as a place to stay top of the list

This is a lovely, large home. Our room was enormous, with a fully-furnished living room area looking out to a garden. The room was stocked with beverages in the fridge, and there was cake in the dining room for a midnight snack. Breakfast was delicious--both the planned menu and the made-to-order eggs. The homemade cranberry jam was a nice touch for Thanksgiving. Janice is a welcoming host.

I came to stay at the Stockade Bed and Breakfast based on the glowing reviews I found online, and I was not disappointed. Janice was a professional and courteous woman who helped answer all of our questions with true southern hospitality. We were given advanced notice of a party to take place, and as promised, she helped to wind down the festivities so our sleep would not be disturbed. The breakfasts provided each day were fabulous as well. We had a fantastic stay and look forward to being back on our next trip to Baton Rouge.

Janice has always made it easy for me to look forward to coming back to Baton Rouge. Business becomes pleasure when I can begin and end the day at Stockade B & B. Each trip (there have been many, by now) I discover something new and delightful about the house, the people or the neighborhood. (PS this is the first internet review that I have ever done. Seriously.)
