Historic home in the Blue Grass Region of central Kentucky. Close to horse farms and varied equestrian activities/events and bourbon distilleries.
Miss Lucie's Room is a very romantic section of our Kentucky Inn. It has been the honeymoon suite, the anniversary choice, and a wonderful choice for a weekend away. It has recently been updated by adding a king size bed. The bathroom has a double marble jacuzzi, which is highlighted by the dark beadboard from an old closet in the house, and the original stained glass window which gave light for the closet. There is a federal style fireplace.
The Terrell Room is on the main floor of the house, and has 14 foot ceilings. The Terrell Room has a private bath with a regular tub and shower and is very spacious. Also your private refrigerator and microwave make an almost perfect "small kitchen". The walls of the "main house" are almost 2 feet thick, so this is a very PRIVATE place in our Kentucky Inn. The first floor location is an advantage for many. Enjoy your favorite book in the reading corner.
Julia's Room has a queen canopy bed, and a private bath with shower. There are plenty of pillows to get comfy while you read or watch a movie on the VCR. A window seat overlooking the side yard to watch the sunrise, a large desk for writing and organizing, make Julia's Room versatile and interesting. Julia's Room is on the second floor, near the upstairs sitting room where there's lots of room to relax, help yourself to sodas, popcorn, or use the microwave. Some of our basic amenities at our Kentucky Inn.
A warm airy feeling to this corner desk makes a great spot to write. Available as king bed or two twin beds. South's bathroom is "adjacent", which means it is a hall bath. It is private, designated for use only by those from South's Room, and a bath in the antique claw foot tub is a real treat.
The cottage bedroom has a queen sized bed, an elegant quilt, and a view of the back yard, gardens, and grazing animals! Historically, the cottage was the kitchen, and there are burn marks on the hardwood floor from this activity. The cottage sitting room in our Kentucky Bed and Breakfast has a daybed, with a comfortable twin mattress. There is also a pull-out trundle twin mattress underneath, so there is a possibility of sleeping 4 persons if you want. This daybed makes a romantic spot for watching a movie on your flat screen TV/VCR/DVD setup.
The Traveler's Room is upstairs and is accessed through the side entrance of our Kentucky Inn. It has poplar hardwood floors, a jacuzzi in the bedroom, a little table by the window and is very romantic and private. Well-behaved dogs are allowed in to stay here as well. In the late 1800's "travelers" unknown to the family used this suite, accessing it by an outside staircase. This is the queen sized bed, with comfy pillows and plenty of bedside reading light.
Auntie's Attic is a friendly suite with a bedroom, sitting room, and small kitchen. On the second floor of our Kentucky Inn, it is a private location and a wonderful choice to bring a dog or small family. The bedroom has a queen pineapple bed, and a pretty view of the back yard.

The Blackburn's were tremendous hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay. We truly felt appreciated and like we were family. Would definitely stay again in the future.

Very nice place to stay but it is up for sale right now and we'll have to see what the new owners do for it.

This is the best Bed & Breakfast we've ever stayed in anywhere, including internationally. The innkeepers are THE most delightful, the breakfast is what we wish someone would serve us EVERY day, and the inn and its pleasantries just go on and on. Well located in a beautiful area, we return to the Lexington outskirts just to stay there (That, and horses, of course)! We have stayed in all of the lovely rooms as repeat customers since the year 2008, coming in from California, two-to-three times a year.

The Inn was undergoing some renovation and we were upgraded to the cottage which was very roomy with a full kitchen. The bathroom had a separate shower and a spa tub for two. The owners, Alder and Jill, really make this place. It was fun to hear the history of the Inn and the area from Alder. The breakfasts were outstanding, especially the French toast which was the best I have ever had. We also enjoyed the mixed fruit bowel with fresh berries served prior to the main course. The Inn has been beautifully restored inside and there are several restaurants within walking distance. This is a great location to visit the Bourbon trail and the Kentucky Horse Park, which we did.

My husband and I were not expecting to stay in Versailles, but we had a lovely evening at this historic residence. We got an excellent recommendation for dinner and slept well. We had to leave very early and were not able to take advantage of breakfast, but we enjoyed the snacks that were in our room and in the main living space.

Everything about my three-night stay was perfect: Hosts: Alder and Gill were welcoming and helpful while still giving you space. Location: I visited for the Bourbon Trail. The inn was centrally located for the eastern distilleries. It was only a short walk from the restaurants in Versailles, but also a short walk from the rolling hills of rural Kentucky. Food: Breakfasts were substantial and included many different options. Every breakfast included fresh fruit, and the main dishes were always delicious. As much as I loved my visit to the distilleries of Kentucky, my fondest memory will be sitting on the back patio of the Rose Hill Inn, sipping bourbon with my girlfriend and watching the rabbits hop around the beautiful grounds. Overall, I highly recommend the Rose Hill Inn.

Rose Hill Inn is like home but better. One of the most quiet inns I've stayed in for being in the middle of a town. The rooms are all fantastic. The innkeepers are some of the nicest people I know. I stay there every year and sometimes twice. I is a great experience.

This historic house is a gem and delightful to stay in. We very much enjoyed the innkeepers, their warm welcome, and wealth of information. And the food was probably the best we've ever had at a B&B. We highly recommend the Historic Rose Hill Inn to anyone visiting Lexington.
