The cast iron fountain and beautifully landscaped grounds welcome you to stroll the property. A few feet from the fountain is the rock garden that has a brick walkway and benches. The beautiful downstairs parlor is yours to enjoy and use for board games, relaxing or enjoying the morning sun peering through the window while sipping your fresh cup of coffee or tea.
The front parlor gives you a view of Main Street and the cast iron fountain and side yard. The crystal chandeliers throughout the Inn are original to the home.Melanie's Room is one of our most popular rooms with a kingsize bed, combination bath/shower and rich red colored walls, loveseat and reclining chair and anitque dresser, plus lots of closet space.
Scarlett's Room is our largest room with a four poster kingsize bed, recliner, couch, antique wardrobe and a large claw foot antique tub with a modern shower enclosure. You can really pamper yurself in this room. From the windows you can see the rock garden and cast iron fence that surrounds the rear and sides of the property. Ashley's Room has either two twin antique beds or they can be made into a kingsize bed. Ashleys Room is light and airy and has two conversation chairs for those intimate moments. This room boasts a tub/shower combination and gives you the best view of the orignal Smokehouse where hams were smoked, and the historic rock garden and cast iron fenceline.
Rhett's Room is our most economical room and perhaps our coziest with an antique Queen size bed. The bathroom has a shower (no tub). From Rhett's window you can see the Historic Disctrict Main Street Buildings, which are now antique shops. The Black Walnut split staircase welcomes you as you enter the front door. The landing on the staircase is a favorite place for weddings. The two parlors are to your right, the dining room and gift shop are straight ahead and the guest rooms are up the staircase, on the second floor. This 1876 Mansion boasts over 6,800 square feet of living area.
Each morning your hot, elegant breakfast will be served in the formal dining room at 8:30 A.M. Sharon serves a variety of hot foods from egg-bake and French Toast casseroles to sausage/egg pies, Quiches and also hasbrowns, sourdough bread, orange juice, coffe or tea and other breakfast items made to order if you have a special diet.
