If a house could wrap their arms around you in a hug...this is what it would feel like! The most welcoming atmosphere I have ever experienced! As a writer, I was blown away by the "inspiration energy" I felt in the Lincoln room! Even though the scenery was spectacular, I found it hard to tear myself away from the manor! Jill, the owner, has one of the most loving, kind hearts I've met in a long time. By the end of my stay, I felt like a had not only a new friend but a new family as well. Why stay in a hotel...when you can stay in heaven? Love, Rebecca PS: I need fast internet for my work and I was not disappointed!. PSS: You just HAVE to sit in the porch swing for a bit. It's like going back in time to a place where there is never any hustle and bustle- just peacefulness.

This charming three story Victorian sits on a winding, climbing quiet circle road atop the town; which, in its day, was a booming mining town. It features a very roomy front porch with lots of chairs for sitting and dreaming or sipping wine. The interior is what one comes to expect from a Victorian – lots of nooks and crannies and decorated to the hilt. By the way, if you can, visit in the autumn. Jill does a fantastic job of decorating for the season. Don’t forget to marvel at all the woodwork and stained glass windows. The hosts, Jill and John, are a delight. If you have time to sit and chat they may be inclined to share a story about the basement. The breakfasts are scrumptious and plentiful with well-appointed table settings. This gem will take you back in time. And, after all, seriously, isn’t that the point! We plan on another trip this coming spring and will surely be staying at the Cumberland Manor. Do yourselves a favor to experience this home and its surroundings, please put this on your itinerary.

Cumberland Manor is a great place to stay! I highly recommend it. The rooms are beautiful and clean; the shower is awesome. :) Breakfast was yummy every morning, and Jill couldn't have been a better hostess. We were there to hike, and she had lots of great suggestions for us that really made our trip. (And then there was the awesome front porch to relax on after a long day of hiking!)

We were just passing through the area, and found the manor by good luck. How lucky we were! Jill and John made our stay as comfortable as possible, and we had a great time chatting with Jill about the area and history. Breakfast was delightful, our room was an inviting mix of historical setting and modern amenities. We look forward to staying here again.

Even if you are not in the area, it is worth it to go here for a nice stay in a true B & B. You won't regret it.

My husband and I stayed at the Cumberland Manor on a short notice booking. We were very fortunate to have stumbled upon this place and would highly recommend it to people who want to spend time in a house that will transform you back to the Victorian times. Jill will greet you with all the information you will need to enjoy the area and you will immediately feel comfortable and welcome in her house of character. We stayed in the Lincoln room with its oversized bed and silky soft sheets and adjoining bathroom - which was bigger than one of our bedrooms! Jill suggested a great place to eat in town for dinner which was pleasantly tasty and full of southern hospitality. And now onto the breakfast – fresh fruit, homemade blueberry muffins, a fantastic frittata and then we were given more muffins for our road trip. We wish we could have stayed longer as no other bed on our trip measured up to the comfort of the one in the Lincoln room. Thank you for making the start to our trip a memorable one.

I am a student who stayed at this bed and breakfast during my clinical rotations at the nearby hospital. I had a wonderful experience. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I stayed there twice. The owners were super nice and friendly and gave me a great price for the length of time that I stayed. My room was also very nice, and I always felt comfortable there. The house is stunning. The owners really go above and beyond to make their guests feel at home, and of course, Jill is an excellent cook. I would highly recommend this place to other students and to anyone just looking for a nice getaway.

A friend and I stayed while in town for a Women's Conference and really enjoyed our time there. Just one night which was too short but loved the house and the food. Our needs were taken care of and Jill was so nice. I would love to stay there again.

I stayed at the Cumberland Manor B & B this past January and had a great experience. The owners are very, very nice and accommodating. The house itself was one of the first houses in Kentucky to get electricity and they have refurbished the common area and bedrooms extensively. Jill is also a great cook, so there's a whole lot to like about this B & B!

Out of town guest stayed and we attended a dinner there. The atmosphere was decorated in a fall theme and very inviting. The food was absolutely wonderful. We had an authentic French menu with appetizer and dessert. I highly recommend the Cumberland Manor B&B! I highly recommend the Cumberland Manor B&B not only for the food but also for the historic value!
