Ruby Lodge at Spring Lake Woods
-
The Lodge is the main house at Spring Lake Woods and the residence of your hosts, Shirley and Joe Thomas. When you enter the circle driveway, you know you've arrived at a special place.
The Lodge is replete with signature architectural details of its designer, Stratton O. Hammon, including the overall "boomerang" design, delicate leaded glass fanlights, a corner fireplace in the paneled library, floor-to-ceiling windows, fluted Ionic pilasters and this beautiful curving cast-in-place concrete staircase in the foyer.
Join us for breakfast in the oval dining room at the Lodge. For a less formal start to your day during the warm seasons, breakfast may also be served on the screened-in porch overlooking Spring Lake or poolside.
The pool at the Lodge is the perfect spot to spend the day or host your special event. The pool area includes whirlpool spa, a fabulous view of Spring Lake and a pool bar (open for private events only).
A shade tree and fishing pole await you.
Mary B's Room overlooks Spring Lake from the second floor balcony and offers an in-room sitting area and separate small sitting room with sleeper sofa.
Somewhat out of character for the quite elegance of The Lodge, the Florida Room has an almost whimsical feel.
The Doe Run Room gets it name from the deer that feast on fallen persimmons outside its windows during the summertime.
Viewed from the outside, you can see how the views from The Lodge would be so great from the inside.
Built in the 1950's by the Ruby Family, the Lake House is a classic example of cedar shake lodge architecture, nestled amongst 100-year old Oaks and offering arguably the most beautiful view of Spring Lake.
Spacious, quiet and private, the Master Suite in the Lake House is our largest guest room. These accommodations offer a spectacular view of Spring Lake, attached, private bath with separate shower, tub and dressing room and private access to our Lakeside Patio and Deck.
The East Veranda Room in The Lake House is a spacious room with King bed and private, attached bath, overlooking Spring Lake and with access to the front veranda.
Packed with Hopkins County history, the Lake House Meeting Room, with access to the patio and deck and overlooking Spring Lake, can comfortably seat groups up to 28 for business meetings, seminars and informal gatherings of all sorts.
Outdoor weddings are our specialty at Spring Lake Woods. From mid-April though mid-October, you will be hard-pressed to find a more spectacular venue in Western Kentucky for the start of your lives together. Catering services available.
Warm and inviting, the West Veranda Room is located on the second floor of the Lake House and is our only room with 2 queen beds, capable of accommodating 4 adults. The room features an antique "Crazy Quilt" from the 1930's, shared access to the veranda and an attached private bath.

4.6 out of 5Ruby Lodge & Lake House March 2013
April 05, 2013
My husband and I truly enjoyed our get-away weekend at the Ruby Lodge/Lake House B&B. The breakfasts were delicious, nutritious and filling-- more then enough to give you a great start to your day. The property is so gorgeous, even in late March when winter is till hanging tough you want to be outside. BTW -- Shirley brews a GREAT pot of COFFEE, hot, no bitterness, nice and smooth on the palate!
4.8 out of 5Sweet Surprise at Spring Lake
October 15, 2012
My only experience with a bed and breakfast in the past was a tremendously overpriced place in Charleston, South Carolina. Staying at Ruby Lodge for less than the price of a room at the Hampton Inn has changed my mind about staying in these establishments. The location is gorgeous, the house was a piece of architectural history, the food was delicious, and the hosts were friendly and welcoming. We definitely will send our family and friends there when they are in the area.

August 09, 2012
We stayed for 2 days and 2 nights after our wedding for a mini-honeymoon. Shirley was a great hostess. She let us explore to our hearts content and didn't intrude into our time. The lodge and surrounding area were lovely. Thinking about sending both sets of parents for a weekend on their 40th anniversaries. Was a surprise close to home....... Thank you Shirley for helping us start our new life together.

5 out of 5Mini Vacation at Ruby Lodge
July 12, 2011
We were pleasantly surprised to learn the property was on 70 acres. Beautiful lake with lots of trees. The Main House was beautifully decorated which we loved and yet, if you stay at the Lodge house it was perfect for a slightly more rustic feel. Breakfast each morning was delicious. Mrs. Thomas was the perfect hostess, friendly and helpful. We would DEFINITELY repeat staying here. Also based on the large number of rooms, PLUS gathering areas (Florida Room, Game Room, Dining Room at Lodge, outside patios and more) it would be a perfect place for a Family Reunion. Yes, there is a pool. We give it TWO THUMBS up. Chris and Barbara Thomas
