We do seasonal elegantly presented Full Teas at the Inn. All our food is freshly prepared at the inn from quality ingredients. We do Christmas, Valentine, Springtime, June, July and some winter teas. We will advertise our dates or you may inquire by calling or emailing the inn.
The Innkeeper's Recipe for Organic Blackberry Breakfast Pudding with warm Canadian Maple Syrup, freshly made whipped cream. This delectible treat is actually good for you!
Fresh homemade afternoon desserts served daily. Decadent dark chocolate bundt brownies topped with fresh whipped cream and garnished with strawberries...every afternoon a new dessert indulgence or a savory snack will await you!
Outside in the beautiful courtyard inside the old brick wall. Outside entrance to conservatory.
A Storybook Inn's dining hall is outstanding. A room so lovely with such rare architectural design, one must see it to appreciate it. With ornately framed oil paintings adorning the walls, large fireplace, the 4 large windows, and original deep coffered ceiling, Bose speakers hidden away on the deep molding, thick Oriental rug, Chippendale banquet table and chairs, 3 individual tables for two, lovely china, crystal, quality flatware...and oh yes, food as lovely to look at as to eat! The double French doors lead to the Victorian screen porch. All of this goes into making this room a favorite with guests.
A Storybook Inn at evening time after a beautiful, well attended Christmas Tea.
Gray mare and spring foal. Photo that Innkeeper snapped across road from farm.
The chickens that lay the organic eggs that we serve at the inn. Innkeeper raised them from day old chicks on her farm that is nearby the inn.
We spoil you with afternoon snacks. Here are some hand-dipped dark chocolate (using natural Ghirardelli chocolate) strawberries. We serve homemade Oatmeal Raisin cookies, Apple Bourbon Cake, Dark Chocolate Brownies and a host of other homemade dessert snacks.
"Gone With the Wind Suite" There is no plaque that says, "Rhett and Scarlett slept here" but with the lovely "Old South" feel of the suite, you feel as if they could have! This large 2-room, very private suite, is fantastic. Elegant but not fussy. Gorgeous tall headboard on the magnificent king bed. Spacious sitting room with hardwood floor is beautifully furnished, including a custom daybed and well done original oil painting of Vivian Leigh as Miss Scarlet by nationally acclaimed portrait artist Steve Sawyer. The thick mattress with built-in memory foam is so comfortable, the guests don't want to get up, but the morning aromas of the full, fresh breakfasts make getting up well worth while. Flat screen TV w/DVD player. Free movie library. satellite TV. Towel warmer, hair dryer, and deluxe lighted make-up mirror. Easy chair, antique desk. A large ceramic tile bath with a walk-in 2-person shower w/dual shower heads. WONDERFUL SUITE!
A Storybook Inn's dining hall is outstanding. A room so lovely with such rare architectural design, one must see it to appreciate it. Lovely photo with older faux finish. The double French doors lead to the new beautiful, sunny glass conservatory where breakfast is served each morning year round.
The Conservatory at night. A 50 ft long room just off the dining room and our new state of the art kitchen. Guests can enjoy this space any time of the day or night. We set out goodies and a complimentary glass of wine every afternoon. Complimentary premium tea and coffee is always available.
The Greatroom in the new Huntsman Chase Guesthouse. The old cottage had to be torn down because of termite destruction and other issues, and the guesthouse that took its place is over twice as large with 3.5 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, hardwood floors (1st floor) and full kitchen and laundry room and large deck and front porch. Breakfast at the main inn available every morning. Guesthouse is just behind the main inn.
The drawing Room of Storybook Inn is a wonderful place to visit or read a book or play the baby grand piano that is kept in tune. Beautiful 31 foot spacious room with amazing detail. It is a refreshing room and not at all stuffy. We pay homage to both the North and the South in this border state Civil War era home. There is a painting of President Lincoln on one end and one of General Lee. There is also a Civil War chess set for our guests. Sit here and access your laptop via our high speed internet, or step into the library and sit at the desk or down chairs. So many visitors comment on the freshness of the rooms and the clean smell as opposed to musty, dusty and old. They also comment on how much light is in the home. Storybook Inn is a haven of peace and is geared to making our guests feel...well...like they have stepped into a Storybook...a very tastefully decorated one. One B&B critic stopped by recently and said, "This is the cleanest, best decorated B&B that I have seen."
Pictures don't begin the capture the beauty of the new state-of-the-art kitchen. We took existing space, saved existing exposed brick and built a 30X40 kitchen that is one of the nicest in the world. Literally. Guests love it and so does the staff. Preparing food and entertaining in this kitchen is a joy!
Our newest main suite in the main house is nearly 900 sq ft of luxury. Our guests from Europe, Australia, and large cities across America have commented that "Somewhere in Time" is the nicest suite that they have stayed in, anywhere in the world. They write that in the in-room journals and passionately tell us this personally. It is our "premiere" honeymoon suite. King bed in main bedroom. Day bed in 19.5 long sitting room. HUGE bathroom with double air whirlpool, separate shower, his/hers marble vanities. Flat screen TV. And much more!
We are so proud of our new Huntsman Chase guesthouse! There is a spacious Greatroom w/floor to ceiling stone gas fireplace, custom bookshelves, Satellite large HD Flatscreen TV/VCR/DVD, full kitchen (fully equipped) lovely breakfast room with one of the most incredible views of the sunrise across the acres! Custom drapes throughout. Italian leather sofa & matching large roomy easy chairs. 3.5 bedrooms. 3.5 baths. Office. Wireless Internet free. Laundry room, 1st master w/large walk-in closet, separate shower & lovely air whirlpool tub. Upstairs the views are wonderful and the bedrooms spacious, 2 more full baths with air whirlpool, and professional decor lovely. Breakfast can still be enjoyed at the main house. Very private - ideal for honeymooners, anniversaries, families, those Keeneland bound, or for individuals who just want to get away from it all!
This gem of a guesthouse is wonderful year round!
Beautiful "My Fair Lady Suite" with rose garden and pond/waterfalls view. (Falls lit at night.)
The new 50 ft long Conservatory is where the guests take breakfast and one of the favorite places to enjoy quiet at other times.

Our stay at A Storybook Inn was beyond compare. I travel A LOT and it's hard to find a gem like this!! From the moment we stepped into the Inn we never wanted to leave. Not only is the Inn spotless but they have left no stone unturned, fabulous breakfast, superb privacy, perfectly appointed rooms and smiling service through out our stay. All I can say is you will be Blessed if you get a chance to spend some time here. A perfect escape, worth every dime. Can't wait to return. P.S. Cried when I awoke back home and there was no smell of breakfast being cooked downstairs.

    A Storybook Anniversary!

    April 29, 2013

A Storybook Inn proved to be the most delightful surprise! We expected good things for our first visit, based on what we had read, but our expectations were so far exceeded! Elise Buckley has done a masterful job of providing such a lovely, warm, and welcoming environment, we cannot wait to go back. The Somewhere In Time Suite was like a piece of Heaven on Earth. It's so spacious and incredibly well appointed! The very large bedroom is so soothing and peaceful, with lovely decor and a bed to die for! There is a more-than-ample walk-in closet, a lovely large bath including double jetted tub, two dressing stations, and a spacious, invigorating shower. The separate sitting room is large and, again, so comfortable and welcoming. Who wouldn't want to curl up there with a good book?! The Inn is beautifully and tastefully furnished and decorated to the period. We loved spending time in the sunny conservatory overlooking the garden. And breakfast! The food was so delicious, we were tempted to sign up for both sittings! A Storybook Inn should be on everyone's list of destinations for a wonderful, relaxins getaway.

    Somewhere in Time

Somewhere In Time is our largest and most luxurious suite. It was the original owner's suite of this grand old house. Newly opened for fall 2010! HUGE is a word that comes to mind. Elegant is another descriptor. Fitting for the mood and feel of this elegant suite, Somewhere In Time has its own private hallway to get to the entrance of this secluded suite in the main house. During the renovation process, we often referred to it our Bridal suite or Presidential suite. And for very good reason! You first enter into the 19-foot long sitting room with original, restored hardwood floor, custom outfitted day bed, large down-filled matching chairs, fireplace, bookshelves flanking the fireplace, custom drapes, and desk. Go past the sitting room and enter into the hallway where you have a choice to go into the exquisite 22-foot bedroom or turn right to go to our very large bathroom with a large "her's" vanity and a separate "his" vanity. (Yes, indeed a marvelous room for a bridal and bridal

    One night in Versailles

    March 16, 2013

Visiting our niece and needed a great place to stay. We found it at the Storybook Inn. The property is exactly how it appears on the web site. Unbelievable, beautiful, and well-manicured. Elise, the Innkeeper, is a class act! So gracious and knowledgeable of the area. Her loves of cooking and interior design are very evident during your stay. The Inn's staff were very personable and accomodating. We stayed in the Casablanca Room and found it unique and interesting with the spirit of Bogart everpresent. If you are looking for the best when you travel then stop here. We will tell all our friends and family about the Storbook and we will most definitely be back!
