1840 Tucker House Bed and Breakfast

  • Inn Details

Tucker House is an 1840 National Register homestead that has been meticulously restored to its original simple beauty. Set upon five gorgeous acres which include woods, a spring-fed lake, the original stone springhouse, gardens and a huge in-ground pool, this brick, Federal-style farmhouse is only fifteen minutes to downtown and two minutes from a major interstate highway. Inside you will find the original cherry staircase and poplar-board floors, seven fireplaces, seeded-glass window panes, and rooms filled with antiques of the early 1800's. In the morning, you will awaken to the aromas of freshly-ground coffee brewing and bacon on the griddle. Your sumptuous breakfasts may either be served to you in the formal dining room on antique china, in the sunlit gathering room on Kentucky pottery, or on the deck overlooking the woods and gardens. We warmly invite you to come and enjoy the history, beauty and hospitality that await you here at Tucker House!

My husband and I hated to leave the Tucker House! The owners, Steve and Devona, were delightful and hit the right note as innkeepers to ensure that our visit was perfect. Their attention to detail was everywhere; the beautiful restorations and wonderful antiques throughout combined to make us very comfortable without feeling we were in a museum. Breakfast was delicious and relaxed, despite the fact that the innkeepers were hosting 25 family members and friends for Thanksgiving dinner a mere 6 hours after we finished breakfast! Martha Stewart, look out!

We stayed at the Tucker House for the second time in four months. We absolutely love this place. The innkeepers are wonderful, friendly and accommondating. We love the Courting Chamber, with its whirlpool tub and walk-in shower. The home is beautifully restored and contains so many antiques; it is very inviting. If you like staying at B&B's, then do not miss staying at the Tucker House.

We celebrated our anniversary with an overnight at the Tucker House. It is a beautiful house, especially the antique furnishings. Our hosts served us a magnificent breakfast, highlighted by the "ableskiver" pancakes. We enjoyed the swimming pool on a sweltering August afternoon.
