When in Louisville, don't miss the chance to stay in a grand mansion on Third Street, the centerpiece of Old Louisville - one of America's largest preservation districts. If you come during the Kentucky Derby, you can join our many guests who chose to walk. We are the closest b&b to Churchill Downs. The Columbine Bed and Breakfast is a wonderful place to stay and is convenient to all major attractions. We are only 1.5 blocks north of the University of Louisville. If you go out our front door, turn left and walk five minutes, you can stand in front of masterpieces by Rembrandt, Monet, and Chagall at the Speed Art Museum. Or, you may simply want to stay "home" at the Columbine Bed & Breakfast which has over 6,300 sq.ft with gorgeous original inlaid wood floors, Honduran mahogany pocket doors, marble fireplaces, stained glass windows, two large porches, central heat/air, and all private baths. Come for a visit and bring home a great memory.

We had never stayed in a B&B nor been to Lousiville, but decided to do both this last Valentine's weekend. So glad we found the Columbine! It is a magnificent Revival House, beautifully appointed rooms, comfy beds, warm and charming! Our hosts were fabulous and very knowledgeable about places ot go and things to do. The location of the Inn is on a lovely Boulevard neatly located between Louisville on one side and the University of Louisville on the other! Everything was so close! There was ample parking in front or back. Rick made going and coming so easy from our room. They were both so hospitable. We would love to relax there again some day soon!

This was our first time staying at a B&B, and after staying at the Columbine I'm very glad we discovered this charming inn. Even though we had to postpone our check-in time at the last minute, Rich was very flexible and was happy to welcome us when we were finally able to arrive. The breakfast was served hot and fresh every morning and was absolutely delicious! We stayed in the Verde room, and truly enjoyed the warm cozy decor. Coming in and out through the back entrance, we would stop and breathe in the wonderful aromas of the garden. We felt safe parking our car in the private lot directly behind the inn. The location was perfect for us, because we were close enough to explore downtown Louisville at our leisure, but could come home to a peaceful and quiet neighborhood. Our private bathroom with claw foot tub was kept tidy and spotless throughout our stay. I appreciated the innkeepers' attention to detail when it came to comfort. They really thought of everything, we even had our own noise machine on the nightstand to use if we wanted to "drown out" noise or fall asleep to rainforest sounds. Overall, I am impressed with the Columbine and highly recommend it to those wanting a romantic and peaceful getaway in Louisville. We definitely want to come back!

My husband and I were going to be in Louisville for business, and decided to make it special by staying at a B&B. We had never stayed at Columbine before. I found it on line and we took a shot in the dark. We were NOT disappointed! This historic mansion was beautiful. It is in a great neighborhood. The hosts were friendly and helpful. This was truly a cut above the rest! We will be back. J and K

To stay in a Greek Revival mansion was a treat in itself. The hosts were so witty & gracious, giving freely of their time to answer questions & to suggest new places. Breakfasts were a great send-off each day.

Lovely and clean rooms in an old Louisville mansion. The owner cooks amazing breakfast! It's not cheap, but totally worth your money. Highly recommended.
