The perfect gift for every occasion

  • The stately columns of the mansion are well known throughout Louisville. We are the closest bed & breakfast to Churchill Downs. You can walk to the Kentucky Derby! Free parking and free wireless Internet access.
Our famous staircase surrounded by rich mohagany wainscoting. There is even a cute half bath under the stairs! A spectacular way to descend for breakfast and a fantastic place to take those Kentucky Derby pictures!
The Duncan Suite is 600 sq. ft. of private comfort. It features our only King bed, an additional twin daybed, a private living room, a TV room, and a private (not shared) detached bath w/ single whirlpool tub, and a pair of lush terry cloth robes. The suite also features a refrigerator and microwave. Free wireless Internet access.
In our Di Sopra room, you can enjoy a beautiful view of our gardens. The room is decorated in fresh colors and has an attached private bath with walk-in marble shower. The ornately carved walnut sleigh bed was designed by Bob Mackie! It is a masterpiece of workmanship...enjoy it and be glad you didn't have to carry it up the stairs! Free wireless Internet access.
The Garden Room, of course, is named for its view. Possibly our most popular room...everyone loves the cherry sleighbed! Private (not shared), detached bath; terry robes in room; working fireplace; free wireless Internet access.
The Verde Room is one of the mansion's original master bedrooms. Yes, there were two...one for him; one for her. We believe it was the husband's room as it has the smaller closet of the two! The enormous windows let in the beautiful Kentucky sunlight and provide a beautiful view or Millionaire's row with its Victorian streetlights. Private (not shared), detached bath; terry robes in room; working fireplace; free wireless Internet access.
The Grecia Room is crisp and clean and neat looking. A very handsome room, indeed! Private (not shared), detached bath; terry robes in room; working fireplace; free wireless Internet access.
Relax on our screened in porch. This might become your favorite place in the mansion! It is one of two porches where guests can relax outside while staying at the Columbine.
Enjoy your breakfast in our richly adorned dining room. Every morning can be a holiday when you are surrounded by rare Honduran mahogany complimented by a beautiful rose marble fireplace!

Or, you may simply want to stay "home" at the Columbine Bed & Breakfast which has over 6,300 sq.ft with gorgeous original inlaid wood floors, Honduran mahogany pocket doors, marble fireplaces, stained glass windows, two large porches, central heat/air, and all private baths. Come for a visit and bring home a great memory.

Friendly innkeepers and cozy room made this stay a great experience!

    April 16, 2012

This was our first time staying at a B&B, and after staying at the Columbine I'm very glad we discovered this charming inn. Even though we had to postpone our check-in time at the last minute, Rich was very flexible and was happy to welcome us when we were finally able to arrive. The breakfast was served hot and fresh every morning and was absolutely delicious! We stayed in the Verde room, and truly enjoyed the warm cozy decor. Coming in and out through the back entrance, we would stop and breathe in the wonderful aromas of the garden. We felt safe parking our car in the private lot directly behind the inn. The location was perfect for us, because we were close enough to explore downtown Louisville at our leisure, but could come home to a peaceful and quiet neighborhood. Our private bathroom with claw foot tub was kept tidy and spotless throughout our stay. I appreciated the innkeepers' attention to detail when it came to comfort. They really thought of everything, we even had our own noise machine on the nightstand to use if we wanted to "drown out" noise or fall asleep to rainforest sounds. Overall, I am impressed with the Columbine and highly recommend it to those wanting a romantic and peaceful getaway in Louisville. We definitely want to come back!
