    Family Fun

    12/15/2011 - 12/31/2012

Horseback riding is a magical experience. Learning to control a 1,000+ pound animal and sitting nearly six feet off the ground is a real thrill, even more so if you only weigh 50 pounds! Parents and grandparents love watching their “babies” quickly gain mastery as the ride progresses. Evaluate your child’s maturity level carefully before you schedule riding. Kids must be at least five years old and have the ability to sit up straight and follow directions. A respect for animals, good listening skills and a significant attention span are necessary to enjoy the riding experience. Nervous or inexperienced riders each ride their own horse but are lead by the instructor. Our dog and kitties are child-friendly. We have games, movies and dvds to share with you as well as directions to Lazer Craze, mini-car racing, discounted tickets to the Cinci zoo and Newport Aquarium and more. Need an early spring fix? Breathe in the flowers at Eden Park’s Conservatory – and take time to enjoy the dessert wing, rainforest wing, orchid room and bonsai room. Use one of those first sunny days to explore Boone County’s Arboretum. Cincinnati’s Flower Show is always fun, as is a walk around Spring Hill Cemetery. ¿ Two midweek nights including a full, all-you-can-eat breakfast for two $225 in the 1870s room, $243 in the upstairs Treetops room. This was a wonderful place to spend the weekend - Jen is a wonderful riding teacher, host and cook (her breakfasts and cakes are absolutely delicious). Loved the horses, my beautiful room and relaxing in the hot tub. Totally recommended.

My gf and I booked a 3-night stay at First Farm Inn for a brief getaway after our hectic teaching semesters, and from the first, Jen welcomed us with sincere warmth and an invitation to make their home our own. The room was comfortable and clean; the breakfasts ample, nutritious, and filling; the location at the end of a secluded road quiet and serene; the horseback riding and presence of other animals--Odo the dog, and Ravenpaw, Yoda, Corky, Xavier, Alex, Squeak, and Tig the cats--homey and comforting. But it was really the small things that impressed us the most; for example, although the mini-frig in our room was stocked with various sodas, Jen noticed we had brought and were drinking Diet Pepsi. We found DP in the frig the next day. On the horseback ride, she was very attentive to our comfort level and adapted accordingly. Jan and I were enjoying our time so much, we extended our stay by another night. We both recommend this B&B w/o reservation; if you are looking for a clean, quiet place to renew and refresh yourself, this is the place.

My husband and I spent two fabulous nights at the First Farm Inn for a ski week-end in January. Dana, Jen, and Tatiana are wonderful hosts! Our room was spacious, clean, and homey with all the ammenities we could need...extra towels and blankets, bathrobes for the hot tub, a fireplace (OK, it was a heater/FP but added a nice touch), and complimentary sodas and water in our room's fridge. They are very knowledgable about the area and the fun activities locally and in nearby Cincy. We enjoyed skiing at Perfect North slopes which is only about a 15 minute drive from the inn and looked forward to coming back to the inn for comfort and relaxation. A dip in the hot tub, cards in front of the fireplace, and an afternoon nap with Ravenpaw, one of their wonderful feline friends, made our trip. Breakfast is fantastic! Hopefully you'll be lucky enough to have the homemade cinnamon rolls! Yum! Come and go as you please, get interesting dining and activity ideas from Jen, great conversationalists, and just relax and recharge. I highly recommend staying at First Farm Inn!! You won't be disappointed. My husband and I are already planning our next visit! Thank you Jen, Dana, and Tatiana!

Magical weekend for best friends separated by 200 miles... Our mother/daughter/girlfriend weekend was fabulous. The hospitality cannot be beaten... starting w/ Odo (dog) greeting us w/ his ball and ending w/ our favorite horses nodding to us as if to say "see you next time - safe travels" as we drove off. Jen is not only a wonderful cook and hostess, but we learned more about horses and their behaviors, habits, maintenance, and agility than anywhere else we've been. The Treetop Room was perfect for us: clean, homey, spacious, comfortable. Bathroom is nice and big. Hot tub is awesome outside under the stars - feels great after a day of riding! The only "caution" I can provide other travelers is out of the innkeepers' control: They are located near I-275 so you do hear traffic. We were there when the leaves were off the trees, so I imagine in the summer months it wouldn't be as noticeable. We had a rejuvenating, lovely stay and highly recommend this special spot!
