Beaumont Inn

Each room in the Main Inn, built in 1845, is individually decorated with antique furnishings and has a private bath, high ceilings, cable television, wireless Internet access, and central air conditioning.
Our recipes are handed down through five generations: specialties include two-year-old Kentucky cured country Ham, yellow-legged fried chicken, corn pudding, and General Robert E. Lee orange-lemon cake.
The stately Greystone House was built in 1931 as a private home. Today it offers one Gold Room and three spacious Platinum Suites, all with private baths, cable television, coffee makers and central air conditioning.
Our exclusive, romantic Platinum Suites feature a king-size bed, two-person whirlpool bath, and Dimplex electric fireplace.
Diamond Rooms in the Main Inn are our most spacious rooms in the Main Inn and feature a king or queen bed, sitting area and Dimplex electric fireplace.
The TAVERN boasts casual fare, great wine and spirits available from the Kentucky-crafted twenty-three foot mahogany bar.
Constructed in 1845, the building which is now the Main Inn at The Beaumont Inn was a school for young ladies of our grandmothers' and greatgrandmothers' day.

3.0 out of 5A little disappointed
June 23, 2010
I was a little disappointed with the room we had even though we had a "gold" room. You could hear guest closing their doors pretty easily. The food for breakfast was OK but nothing real great. The fireplace had an ashy smell to it. Many old pieces of furniture and the Beaumont had a neat history. In the windows you could see how the ladies would use their diamond rings to cut into the glass, I saw one date of 1880 on the window. The air conditioner ran 100% of the time we were there. You had a long stick to turn the vent all the way off or all the way on, to regulate the temperture. There wasn't much to do in the city of Harrodsburg. We did fine a great old time drug store that severed some great ice cream, I had the ice cream soda which was awesome. I guess I was a disappointed with our experience, my wife and I have been to better B & B, I'm glad we went but we won't be going back. We also found a good steak house on the bypass. On a one to ten basis both my wife and I rated it a 5.
Innkeeper Response
We are so sorry you were disappointed in your stay. I will be sure to check on the ashy smell in the room. Unfortunately, the age of the building, 1845, limits us in air conditioning controls for each room. I am glad you enjoyed the Kentucky Fudge Factory in the restored Dedman Drugstore and Eddie's Steakhouse.4.2 out of 5Step back in time

The Beaumont Inn is a wonderful place to stay; the rooms are nice, the grounds are beautiful, and the pub is good. This is a great place to stay as a base to explore this beautiful part of Kentucky.

While it has been a while since we stayed at the Beaumont, I feel I must share our delightful experience at the inn. All amenities were spectacular. Thinking of the delicious food, the historic atmophere, the beautiful grounds and the hospitable owners and staff, make me want to return to the Beaumont as soon as the threat of ice and snow subsides. My husband and I have stayed at numerous bed and breakfasts and our experience at the Beaumont surpasses them all. I highly recommend the Beaumont for anyone who wishes a relaxing experience with no surprises. What a treat! Also, due to circumstances related to Hurricane Katrina we had to cancel our first reservation only one day before our scheduled arrival. The owner was understanding and gracious, not charging a penalty for our last minute cancelation. Because of that response, I knew our future stay would be memorable. I was correct!

We stayed 2 nights at the Beaumont Inn. Room 33's bathroom was a nice size and the beds were very comfortable. We very much enjoyed the building and grounds, the old working elevator, breakfast in the dining room and dinner in the Old Owl's Nest - I recommend the Hot Brown! Quiet, comfortable, friendly and high speed internet. You can't beat it, less expensive than other B&Bs around and worth more than they charge. VERY happy. I will always remember the place.

We have been to the Beaumont several times and always feel like we're visiting relatives. The Dedman's always make us feel so welcome, the rooms are wonderful, food excellent and the grounds are lovely. We love it there and hope to get back soon!

I highly recommend the Beaumont. The food was excellent, the grounds were beautiful, and all for a very reasonable price. My other option was at a hotel for $25 MORE. I can't say enough about this place. You won't be disappointed. Try the Bourbon sampler. A deal for the top shelf your able to select.
Innkeeper Response
Yes, this thank you is over a year old, but I am just getting into the "review thing." Thank you for the review and we hope you will be able to visit us again in 2010--Dixon is always adding bourbons to the selection. Helen
