The perfect gift for every occasion

  • Springhill Plantation (circa 1857) is an elegant Victorian plantation manor known for its elaborate iron facade and intricate interior wood design. A Confederate Guerilla skirmish happened here in 1864 that makes for great stories at breakfast. The award winning Springhill Winery and vineyards, on site, lets you experience the taste of great wines and discover a relaxing stroll through the vineyards.
Springhill Winery (on site) is Kentucky's oldest and most award winning small winery that has been featured in the Wine Spectator and has earned over 15 medals in International competition. Three generations of family have worked to handcraft these wines of distinction. Come stroll the vineyards of Springhill.
The Merlot Room overlooks the north slope of the Eastern Vineyard and the full view of the Plantation Elm tree. This room's decor is reminiscent of the nineteenth century antebellum period with a private bath and porticoes from floor to ceiling. The king size "Plantation" bed, designed by Jessica McClintock, has intricate carvings of old world craftsmanship and adorned with a Victorian comforter and pillows, perfect for a night of restful dreams.
The Cabernet Suite opens from grand double doors into a massive space filled with a king's "Renaissance" bed with posts the size of trees. A bed you can get lost in with your love. Wing backed chairs and a Duncan Fife sofa for your leisurely visit. A colonial private bath just tip toes away from your bedside.
The Chardonnay Room is the coziest room with the view of the winery, the Victorian courtyard, and the vineyard that stretches out to the rolling hills and wooded licks. The famous "Rice" bed with its towering posts, surrounded by Victorian decor, mantel, and colonnade private bath.
The Rose' Suite opens at the top of the flying stair case into a massive space filled with the famous "Mecklenburg" bed with rope turnings, beaded molding, shell ornaments, and classical pilasters that blend into an elegant setting, befitting your pleasant dreams. An antique love seat beckons for your leisurely visit and a colonial private bath with vintage decor is only a few steps from your bedside.
Here's a suite with a definite masculine flair with the traditional black "Roller Pin" bed, Tobacco Leaf drapes and an antique walnut dresser. Just steps away is the full bath with overhead recessed lighting, soft rich towels, an oak and marble sink and cabinets with a combo shower 'n tub. It's a shared bath with the adjoining Beaujolais suite which is perfect for families or two couple of friends traveling together.
Climb up the servants stairway as the manor's slave attendants did 150 years ago. You will enter the Beaujolais suite's separate den that has an overstuffed sofa and seating area. Nice 'n comfortable to relax in after your travels or just sip coffee there in the mornings. Although the slaves' rooms were very austere then, your accommodations will be warm and cozy with floral colored appointments and the beautiful Lillian Russell "spool" bed and dresser that's deep red cherry wood.
Bring your appetite and relax before a huge "Plantation Breakfast" served with fresh breads, fruits, Hot coffee, teas,...and of course gourmet country cooking.
You'll love the architechural design and woodwood of this charming plantation manor along with the historical stories of its previous owners.

Great place to stay if doing Kentucky BourbonTrail!

    May 11, 2013

Lovely, historical bed & breakfast very centrally located near Louisville. My husband and I did the Kentucky Boubon Trail and this B&B worked out great for location. Eddie and Carolyn, our hosts, we're a pleasure to speak with and the food was incredible! Even tho we arrived late, they were kind and understanding to our situation. The home is beautiful and the rooms extremely comfortable. The breakfasts were so filling and it was nice to sit with Eddie as he told us stories about the history of the house. There is so a very nice Winery with the property, which for us, was another benefit of staying there! We received many great dining suggestions from the two of them, and it all worked out so well. You won't be disappointed here!

    Wonderful time

    April 30, 2013

We were given a one nights stay at Spinghill as a gift last year but had to wait to use it until this spring. What a wonderful get-a-way!!! We are local to the area but have never really taken the time to explore the Bloomfield part of state. It was refreshing to drive through the countryside, visit the antique shops and for those who enjoy wine and wine tasting there is plenty of local area vineyards to experience. The Bed and Breakfast was so welcoming and homey. Our room was very spacious and well decorated as well as having a very comfortable bed. We enjoyed an evening around the fire pit and the breakfast in the morning was out of this world. Eddie and Carolyn made us feel a part of their family and it was like we had known them our whole lives. During breakfast be prepared for an Eddie style history lesson that will not only keep your interest but have you leaving with a better understanding of the roots of Springhill Winery Plantation B n B. ----The Maleceks

    Fantastic B&B

    April 24, 2013

Eddie & Carolyn were very gracious hosts. Hot cookies were waiting for us when we arrived. They went above and beyond to get us reservations at a local bistro where the food was perfect. Returned to B&B to a very relaxing room and comfortable bed. The country breakfast the next morning was awesome and the conversation about the history of the plantation even better. If we travel to Kentucky again we will definitely stay with them. Thanks again. Tim from Missouri

    Beautiful Home

    April 16, 2013

The home itself is spectacular. The hosts are warm, witty, and very accommodating. The breakfast was absolutely fabulous. When we arrived we weren't exactly certain where to check in but soon figured out to go back to the little winery building to check in. I'd certainly stay here again if I were on the Bourbon Trail. There is also a Winery trail and this is one of the stops.

This was our first time at a bed & breakfast and we just loved it. We would highly recommend this place. Everything was just great. Loved the pleasantness of the owners and the stories that they told about the house and the surrounding areas. We will definitely come back again. The wine was just great.
